Response to Kuno Kirschfeld In ldquo;Who decides ndash; humans or their brains?rdquo;, Kuno Kirschfeld denies that philosophy is able to advance our understanding of the functioning of human thinking. According to Nida-Rümelin, this point of view is based on a false opposition between two different and incompatible ways of thinking, underlying philosophy on the one hand and natural sciences on the other. Furthermore the author criticizes the naturalistic dogma according to which every single event is explainable by the means of empirical natural sciences and which is central for Kirschfeld's argument. Nida-Rümelin defends the concept of free will against naturalistic attempts to deny it showing that deliberation, the weighing of reasons, is essential to human nature. Consciousness cannot contribute to our thinking Deliberating before taking a decision is information processing. To do so requires the information to be stored, which is possible in a physical substrate only, not in the mind. Processing also needs such a substrate, both cannot occur in empty space. This holds for thinking in general, because all thinking is information processing. This implies that any thinking happens in the neural machinery of our brain, without contribution of our consciousness. Results of these processes may later become conscious. Conclusion: Consciousness cannot contribute to our thinking, and then affect the brain

Languaje and culture
This article collects the plenary conference given by Eugene A. Nida at
the V International Congress Translation, Text and Interferences on
Translation and Cultural Mediation, hold at the University of Cordoba (Spain),
in which the author recounts that, along his career as a translator, it was of
paramount importance to know the values of the different cultures he visited in
order to understand how these cultures communicated meaningfully with one
another and, consequently, be able to help their translators in their work of
translating the Bible.
Tauhid Rububiyah Values in the Movie PK within Islamic Education Perspective Nida ul Azizah 1223301211
Movie is a series of images taken of the moving object.Movie is an artistic work that has function to entertain. The movie reflects the mentality of a nation more than reflected through other artistic media.Movie has several function, namely to inform, to educate, to entertain, to influence, to guide, and to criticise.Seeing sixth such functionality would be nice if the movie is used as a medium of education. One of the important educations is tauhideducation. Tauhidmeans that human only believes in Allah, the Creator of the entire universe as the only God who is worshiped. Tauhidis a central principle in all dimensions of human life, whether in the aspect of vertical relationships (human beings with God), as well as horizontal relationships (human relationships), and between humans and the natural worlds. One of the movies that can use to teaching tauhidis movie PKby Rajkumar Hirani films. In this movie so many religious values that we can take. So, the author take subject matter in this research is 1) what are the values of tauhid rububiyahcontained in the movie PK? 2)howis the Islamic education perspective in teaching tauhid rububiyahvalues in this movie?
This research used a qualitative approach (naturalistic) by elaborate the things in their natural state, trying to logic or interpret phenomena in terms of the meanings that brought people on the phenomenon. This research used library research to elaborate the document is movie “PK”. The author use documentation as data collection techniques. In analyzing data that have been collect, author use content analysis.
The result of the research is that in the movie PK has some points that is God as the answer of hope and human limitations, there are many Gods in this world, every Gods has His own manager, there are the wasteful religious rituals, someone’s religiousity often judged from its appearance, and God no need to be defended by human. Tauhid rububiyahvalues contained in the movie PK is belief that human desperately needs Allah, submissive and obedient to Allah, be kind to fellow human and nature, and belief in tauhid rububiyah requires existance tauhid uluhiyah. In teachingtauhid rububiyah values within Islamic education perspective in this movie is learning by imitating, practical experience and trial and error, and thingking. And the methods that can be used are demonstration and question and answer
Symbols and translating
This article proposes a discussion about the semiotic implications inserted in each translation choice and decision making. The author emphasizes that in any translation it is necessary to comprehend the words combinations in the texts rather than their isolated meanings. The iconic, indexical and conventional specifications of the meanings are also presented as well as the importance of non verbal signs in the communicative process between two or more linguistic communities. The five senses are also presented as the means by which we acquire any kind of knowledge. Eugene Nida still informs us, by using pratical examples, that many semiotic symbols radically alter their functions and forms, according to the changes occured in society itself. Finally two communication filters are presented (the emotional state of receptors and the presuppositions of the culture) as determining factors for the comprehension of a text and its subsequent translation
Engaging the customers through social mobile application experience
This paper aims to investigate the customer experience and postpurchase behavior in the mobile application environment. This study is experimental with a quantitative approach. Two hypothetical mobile apps were developed;
social-focused and information-focused. Data was collected by surveying 400 online shoppers and, analyzed by employing SEM and multi-group analysis techniques using Amos. Results suggest that a mobile app that is socially focused
enhances the customer experience and customer engagement behavior respectively. Next, the need for touch provides boundary conditions between customer
experience and customer engagement behavior. Behavioral experience can be enhanced by improving online customer experience with the help of atmospherics
have implications for the retailers. Social mobile apps with richer media experience reduce the uncertainties and lead towards customer engagement behavior.
Two real mobile applications were developed based on richer media experience
focusing on social elements and limited media experience focusing only on information. Studies are limited to cognitive and affective experience. This study
also focused on social presence and sensory appeal with cognitive and affective
dimensions. Customer engagement behavior was studied in dept
Miniemulsion photopolymerization in a continuous tubular reactor: particle size control via membrane emulsification
Synthesis of polymeric nanoparticles of adjustable size in the submicron-range 200-950 nm has been conductedviamembrane emulsification combined with photoinduced miniemulsion polymerization in a continuous tubular flow reactor. Monomer droplets comprising methyl methacrylate (MMA), hexadecane and the photoinitiator diphenyl(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphine oxide were prepared as an aqueous emulsion with the surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) using fixed membrane pore sizes of 100, 200, 300 and 400 nm. Radical polymerizations were subsequently conducted by exposure of these emulsions to visible (violet) irradiation (lambda(max)= 405 nm) at room temperature in a continuous tubular flow reactor for polymerization times (residence times) as short as 10 min. Careful consideration of the SDS concentration as well as the use of an aqueous phase radical scavenger enabled design of systems providing exclusive monomer droplet nucleation (in the absence of secondary nucleation). In contrast to conventional emulsification techniques, membrane emulsification provides an energy efficient method for tuning the polymer particle size from submicron to micron range by appropriate selection of pore size.Boyer, C; Zetterlund, PB (corresponding author), Univ New South Wales, Ctr Adv Macromol Design CAMD, Sch Chem Engn, High St Gate 2, Sydney, NSW 2033, Australia; Univ New South Wales, Australian Ctr Nanomed, High St Gate 2, Sydney, NSW 2033, Australia.

Unani Perspective on Polymenorrhea (Kathrat-I-Ḥayd): Understanding Etiology and Pathogenesis
Menstrual disorders have long been a subject of significant concern for gynaecologists and physicians, both in ancient and modern times, due to their profound impact on women’s health. Among these, Polymenorrhea represents one of the most prevalent complaints among menstruating women, affecting approximately 5–15% of the adult female population. It adversely influences physical, emotional, and social well-being, thereby diminishing the overall quality of life. Polymenorrhea refers to abnormally frequent or shortened menstrual cycles, which may occur as a physiological variation or as a manifestation of underlying pathological conditions. Under normal circumstances, menstruation follows a cyclical pattern lasting up to seven days; however, deviations in frequency or duration may indicate menstrual dysfunction. In the Unani system of medicine, this condition is referred to as Kathrat-i-Ḥayḍ, denoting excessive menstrual bleeding. When the bleeding persists beyond the normal menstrual period or occurs irregularly on non-menstrual days, it is termed Istiḥaza. The Unani scholars have elaborated extensively on its causes, underlying mechanisms, and management strategies. This paper aims to elucidate the etiological factors and pathogenesis of Kathrat-i-Ḥayḍ as described in classical Unani literature, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of its conceptual and clinical significance.
