مولانا ظفر علی خاں کا اُسلوب نگارش: تحقیقی جائزہ: THE WRITING STYLE OF MAULANA ZAFAR ALI KHAN: A RESEARCH REVIEW

    No full text
The stylistics followed by Maulana Zafar Ali Khan in prose were laid by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in Urdu literature. Sir Syed's ijtihad and reformist color and style are found in journalism with Maulana Muhammad Ali Johar, Abul Kalam Azad and Zafar Ali Khan. The difference between the style of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan, Azad and Johar is that Maulana Zafar Ali Khan addressed the people directly from the unity of ancient and modern literature and knowledge and religion and politics. Abul Kalam Azad's tone was that of a da'i, but Muhammad Ali Johar reached the heart like an English journalist. Maulana Zafar Ali Khan's prose is a reflection of his particular mind, mood and environment. His moody nature and the moodiness of the environment combined to make his writing style terrifying and suspenseful. Maulana was a fast traveller. He loved passion more than reason, action more than thought and commotion more than peace

Over the past few years great progress has been achieved in anticancer therapy, but development of resistance and unavoidable side effects have incapacitated these fulfilments. Keeping in view this demanding condition, numerous drugs with unique antitumor mechanisms are under investigations including antimicrobials which have been shown to possess anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and cytotoxic effects. In this regard, both conventional and novel antimicrobials are being studied to explore their anticancer potential along with underlying mechanisms which may render them as effective anticancer drugs in near future. Moreover, the new approach of drug repurposing is also being encouraged especially in cancers in order to reduce cost and limit adverse effects. In recent times a cumulative number of studies have laid stress upon the antitumor properties of antimicrobials. Consequently, this study has been conducted to see comparative inhibitory effect of Sorafenib and its combination with a macrolide antibiotic Azithromycin on growth rate HepG2 cell line

Maulana's journalistic life formally began with Maulana's residence in Hyderabad Deccan and publication of "Afsana and Deccan Review". To understand Maulana's journalistic ideas and journalistic preferences, it is important to know the background of this era. After the War of Independence in 1857, there was a severe crisis of Muslim leadership in the subcontinent because most of the leaders and scholars were forced into exile or executed. In such circumstances it proved to be very beneficial for a reformer of the nation like Sir Syed Ahmad Khan to take the reins of the Muslims. Muslims were suffering from a very bad situation in terms of political, religious, social and literary aspects in the changed conditions.Maulana played an important role in making Muslims conscious and capable. Maulana rendered valuable services through his journalistic writings. After graduating from Aligarh, Zafar Ali received the fellowship of Nawab Mohsin-ul-Mulk, which further enhanced his journalistic, literary and political personality

Estimating Passenger Car Equivalent Factors for Heterogeneous Traffic Using Occupancy-Density Linear Regression Model

    No full text
A variety of methods have been proposed in the existing literature for the estimation of passenger car equivalent (PCE) factors. These methods are based on the comparison of selected attributes of different vehicles. This research, for the first time, utilizes the basic notion of the linear relationship between road area occupancy and density for the estimation of PCE factors for different vehicle types in heterogeneous traffic. Aerial photographs obtained from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) were analyzed to estimate the road area occupancy and the number of vehicles classified in seven selected groups. A linear least-squares regression model was developed between road area occupancy and classified vehicle count. The coefficients of the occupancy-density linear regression model were used to estimate PCE and motorcycle equivalent (MCE) factors. The comparison of the estimated set of PCE values with the values reported in the literature shows that PCE factors estimated using the proposed method are reasonable and produce a better occupancy-density relationship than the other studies. In comparison with the existing methods that rely on lane-based measurements, the proposed method is well suited for traffic with weak/no lane discipline, as it considers the entire road width and the dynamics of lateral movement of different types of vehicles. The proposed method does not need extensive traffic data of speeds, headways, flow rates, and so forth, and is applicable on aerial photographs obtained from other sources, such as satellites.Funding The author(s) disclosed receipt of the following financial support for the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article: This research was supported with funding from Exascale Open Data Analytics Lab, National Center for Big Data and Cloud Computing (NCBC) and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
