No full textDunia realitas suatu masyarakat bahasa dibangun berdasarkan kebiasaan berbahasa mereka. Oleh sebab itu setiap masyarakat bahasa memandang dunia realitas dengan caranya sendiri (Sapir, 1949:162). Sama halnya dengan orang Minangkabau (Mk) yang juga mempunyai cara sendiri dalam mengunakan bahasa. Sesuai dengan kepribadiannya orang Mk jarang menggunakan kata dengan makna literal, terbuka atau langsung tepat pada sasarannya. Bertutur dengan menggunakan kias merupakan budaya berbahasa yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat Mk.
Pola konsepsi masyarakat Mk seperti disebutkan di atas menurut Navis (1984:59) tanpaknya dibangun melalui bentuk, sifat, dan ciri alam yang dimetaforakan ke segala aspek kehidupan untuk dijadikan pengajaran dan pandangan hidup. Selanjutnya, ajaran dan pandangan hidup itu di nukilkan ke dalam petatah-petitih, petuah, mamangan dan bidal. Salah satu bentuknya adalah Tambo Minangkabau (TM)
UTILIZING LINGUISTIC LANDSCAPE IN ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING
No full textThis study aims to explore the utilization of linguistic landscape (LL) in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, also referred to as a theoretical review. This study examines various perspectives from relevant literature to gain deeper insights into the utilization of LL in educational contexts. The method employed involves a comparative analysis of previous LL research. The primary sources for this study include research reports, journal articles, books, and other scholarly works that explore LL as a linguistic, social, and educational phenomenon. The findings of this research highlight several key concepts and strategies that can be applied to enhance the use of LL in EFL learning. Furthermore, the results indicate that integrating LL into EFL instruction provides an authentic and contextual approach, enabling learners to develop various language skills, including: mastery of English vocabulary, comprehensive reading ability, awareness of multilingualism, understanding of social, cultural, and economic contexts, as well as the ability to conduct critical discourse analysis

No full textAbstrakPenerapan kajian sosiolinguistik dalam memahami kesalahpahaman terhadap sosial budaya Minangkabau fokus pada analisis tentang persepsi yang salah pada cime'eh dan Insya Allah orang Minang dalam pendidikan membangunan karakter. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan segala aspek dari cime'eh sebagai konsepsi pola masyarakat Minangkabau yang dibangun melalui bentuk-bentuk dan karakteristik alam yang merupakan figur untuk semua aspek untuk melayani pengajaran dan filosofi hidup yang kemudian dituangkan ke dalam kritik sosial dalam pendidikan membangun karakter seperti pesan dan nasehat ataupun sebuah sindiran dan sentilan. Selain itu penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk menjelaskan penggunaan Insya Allah sebagai cerminan dari kehidupan sosial Minangkabau dan hubungan antara bahasa, budaya, dan agama. Cara berfikir orang Minangkabau yang metaforikal merupakan manifestasi dari filosofi “alam takambang jadikan guru” yang mehubungan secara konseptual bentuk bahasa dengan dimensi sosio - budaya dilihat dalam kaitannya makna. Itulah pola linguistik yang berarti selalu berhubungan dengan pola budaya masyarakat tutur sosial budaya. Abstract Study about misunderstanding toward sociocultural of Minangkabau focus on analysis about wrong perception to cime’eh and Insya Allah by Minangnese in education of character building. This studies aims to explain any aspect of cime’eh as Pattern conception of Minangkabau community built through forms and characteristic of nature that prefigured to all aspects to serve the teaching and philosophy of life and then poured into social critic in character building. Beside that this studies also aims to explain using Insya Allah as mirror of Minangkabau social life and relationship between language and culture. Minangkabau people whose way of thinking is metaphorical. This is a manifestation of the philosophy of “Alam Takambang Jadi Guru”. Conceptual relationship of linguistic form with dimensions of the socio-cultural seen in relation of meaning. Pengaruh Kepuasan Dan Kepercayaan Terhadap Loyalitas Nasabah Bank Syariah Mandiri Di Kota Jayapura
Full text linkPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh kepuasan dan kepercayaan terhadap loyalitas nasabah pada Bank Umum di Kota Jayapura. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian survey dengan kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Sampel yang digunakan dalam analisis sebanyak 118. Data diolah dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda yang diolah dengan SPSS 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepuasan dan kepercayaan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap loyalitas nasabah. Kata Kunci : Kepuasan, Kepercayaan dan Loyalita

Full text linkBanyak tantangan yang dihadapi pemerintah daerah dalam pelaksanaan pembangunan di era otonomi khusus, terutama dalam mewujudkan pemerintahan yang berbasis kinerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh faktor motivasi, kemampuan dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai pada kantor Distrik Sentani di kabupaten Jayapura. Objek penelitian ini adalah pegawai pada Distrik Sentani yang berjumlah 38 orang . Dengan menggunakan alat analisis regresi linier berganda hasil penelitian menunjukkan baik secara parsial maupun simultan faktor motivasi, kemampuan dan lingkungan kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai distrik Sentani di kabupaten Jayapura dengan persamaan regresi : Y = -0,004 + 0,414 X1 + 0,325 X2 + 306 X3+ E. Kata Kunci : Motivasi, Kemampuan, Lingkungan Kerja dan Kinerja Pegawa
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Full text linkWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
