THE USE OF DIRECTED READING THINKING ACTIVITY (DRTA) TO TEACH READING COMPREHENSION FOR THE ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS AT SMK NEGERI 1 PONCOL IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018

DRTA technique is a strategy that explain about teaching students in good
reading habits. This strategy helps strengthen reading and critical thinking skill.
The purpose of this research was to know the use of directed reading thinking
activity (DRTA) technique to teach reading comprehension for the eleventh grade
students in SMK N 1 Poncol.
The subject of this research was the students of the eleventh grade class XI
Boga 2 of SMK N 1 Poncol in the academic year 2017/2018, which consisted of
21 students. The research was started on July 26th, 2017 until August 1st, 2017.
This Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle
consisted of two meetings. The researcher used three research instruments. They
were: observation, checklist, questionnaire, and test.
Based on the result of this research, the observation checklist result
showed that the students become active during teaching learning process. The
result of observation checklist cycle 1 was 66.67%, while, the result improved up
to 90.00% in cycle 2. The result of questionnaire in cycle 1 was 72.00%. While,
the result of questionnaire in cycle 2 was 84.00%. It showed that the students
enjoyed and were interested in reading comprehension. In cycle 1, there were 12
or 60.00% of students got score under KKM, and 8 or 40.00% of students passed
in the test. Then, the students who reached the minimum score based of KKM in
cycle 2 was 100%.
Finally, the researcher concluded that the implementation of Directed
Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) Technique to Teach Reading Comprehension
for the Eleventh Grade Students in SMK N 1 Poncol was successful. The
researcher hopes that the result of this study will be useful for the next researche

This study aims to see to what extent the church has an interest in building a youth community through discipleship. The method used in this research is descriptive research method. Collecting data by distributing questionnaires and making descriptions, descriptions in a systematic, factual, and accurate way about the facts, characteristics, and relationships between the phenomena being investigated. Based on the findings of the questionnaire distributed through google form, about the church's interest in building youth communities through discipleship: 1) not all churches have an interest in discipleship, 2) lack of leaders, affects the church's interest in making discipleship programs, 3) lack of discipleship materials affect the implementation discipleship, 4) the limitations of the leader to convey discipleship materials creatively and not monotonously
Pendekatan Kotekstualisasi Misi Bagi Kaum Milenial
Topik kontektualisasi misi selalu relevan untuk dibahas, karena setiap era memiliki budaya masing-masing, termasuk era Milenial sudah pasti di dalamnya terdapat generasi di era tersebut. Ini penting untuk dipahami oleh gereja sebagai agen misi Allah bagi dunia. Kontekstualisasi juga merupakan upaya untuk memahami cara-cara komunitas Kristen menghayati Injil di tengah budaya non-Kristen dan tentang bagaimana menyeberangkan Injil ditengah-tengah konteks. Karena itu, tujuan artikel ini, adalah mengusulkan atau mengupayakan pendekatan kontekstualisasi yang relevan bagi generasi milenial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam artikel ini menggunakan studi lieratur. Penelitian studi literatur adalah penelitian yang dilakukan dengan cara mengumpulkan dan mengidentifikasi sumber-sumber primer dan sekunder baik berupa buku, skripsi, tesis dan artikel-artikel terkini. Untuk memfokuskan pembahasan maka penulis membuat dua pertanyaan untuk mengarahkan pembahasan: apa yang dimaksud dengan kaum milenial atau generasi milenial? dan pendekatan kontekstualisasi misi apa yang akan diusulkan? Berdasarkan kajian yang sudah dilakukan maka temuan yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini adalah bahwa generasi milenial memiliki karakteristik yang unik, karena pengaruh kemajuan teknologi dan informasi dunia digital, sehingga masyarakatnya pun disebut sebagai masyarakat nitizen dengan budaya popular yang berkembang. Disamping itu juga, pandangan dunia yang mereka miliki inheren dengan pengaruh dunia maya sebagai tempat mengaktualisasi diri. Itulah sebabnya diperlukan pendekatan relasionalitas, inkarnatif dan eklesiastik, termasuk memanfaatkan media teknologi informasi untuk memberitakan Injil keselamatan
Joseph's Personal Spirituality and Adversity Quotient Based on Genesis 37-50: A Content Analysis of Literature
Success is everyone's dream, but not a few people retreat and even fail because they are not ready to face the process of achieving that success. Joseph is the son who is dearest to his father, but this makes his brother hate him. Joseph is a character in the Bible, and Joseph realized that all the thoughts of his brothers, all the difficulties he experienced, were solely in God's design, and God had a good purpose in the difficulties he experienced. In a sense, Joseph's personal spirituality determines how he can have an adversity quotient so that Joseph became a tough person in facing all the challenges of his life. This study aims to analyze personal spirituality and adversity quotient. The research method used is content analysis. Research questions: what is the relationship between personal spirituality and Adversity Quotient? and to what extent can personal spirituality make someone strong in AQ? The result showed that personal spirituality and adversity quotient is related to one another. Based on the text analysis, it was found that the relationship between personal spirituality and adversity quotient on content: personal spirituality that comes from family influence, personal spirituality that comes from character, Joseph's spirituality in facing challenges (family, female, wealth and power), and personal spirituality in the knowledge of God and understanding His plan thus forming his adversity quotient.
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. PENGEMBANGAN BAHAN AJAR PENDIDIKAN AGAMA KRISTEN BAGI SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR
Bahan ajar merupakan hal yang paling integral dalam proses pembelajaran. Pengembangan bahan ajar juga merupakan hal penting karena indikator keberhasilan pembelajaran adalah tersedianya bahan pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan standar kompetensi, tidak terkecuali dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen. Pemerintah memfasilitasi proses pembelajaran agama dengan UU no 20 tahun 2003 dan PP no 55 tahun 2007. Selain itu pemerintah juga telah menyediakan BSE PAK bagi siswa sekolah dasar guna mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang terdapat dalam UU no 20 tahun 2003. BSE PAK yang tersedia adalah buku panduan guru untuk kelas 1, 2, 4, 5, dan buku siswa kelas 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. BSE untuk pegangan guru sudah dilengkapi dengan penjelasan karakteristik mata pelajaran PAK, kurikulum PAK 2013, pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan penilaian PAK, serta penjelasan setiap pelajaran yang ada di buku siswa. Dengan kelengkapan ini, guru dibantu untuk bisa mengimplementasikan pembelajaran dan pencapian tujuan pembelajaran dengan maksimal. Begitu juga dengan buku siswa, dilengkapi dengan gambar, penjelasan materi dan juga ayat Alkitab yang akan menolong siswa untuk mencapai standar kompetensi. Secara ideal BSE cukup menolong untuk anak-anak bisa mencapai standar kompetensi. Akan tetapi sehubungan dengan masalah penerapan pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen di sekolah-sekolah negeri maka BSE tidak cukup menolong para siswa mencapai standar kompetensi. Ada banyak sekolah negeri yang tidak menyediakan guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen dan jika ada sekalipun maka seringkali para siswa dikumpulkan dalam satu kelas dan diajar sekaligus dalam waktu bersamaan walaupun jenjang kelas mereka berbeda. Dengan alasan karena jumlah murid yang terlalu sedikit atau tidak adanya tenaga pengajar. Hal inilah yang mangakibatkan materi dalam BSE PAK tidak bisa diimplementasikan dengan maksimal, sering kali guru malahan mencari bahan ajar sendiri yang tidak terjamin validitasnya untuk digunakan anak didik. Oleh karena itu perlu dikembangkan sebuah bahan ajar Pendidikan Agama Kristen yang bisa digunakan oleh seluruh siswa secara bersama-sama walaupun berbeda jenjang kelas dan bobot tiap kelas dipisahkan di buku lembar kerja siswanya
TANGGUNG JAWAB KEPEMIMPINAN KRISTEN DALAM KONSEP IMAGO DEI DI GEREJA METODIS INJILI SURABAYA DAN MALANG
The implementation of Christian leadership responsibilities in church organizations tends to imitate a secular leadership style built on a philosophical basis. Indeed, Christian leadership has to be based on biblical principles. Secular leadership shows negative aspects, such as authoritarianism, materialisticism, and conflict management. Therefore, this study aims to provide an understanding of the basis for the implementation of Christian leadership responsibilities based on the imago Dei concept as God's original purpose in creation. In its implementation, humans not only inherit God's attributes but also represent God in leadership responsibilities. This qualitative study used a phenomenological approach. The findings indicate that leadership responsibilities in the Evangelical Methodist Church environment have been implemented but have not been built based on the imago Dei concept. Thus, this study provides a new perspective that leadership built based on the imago Dei concept affects the implementation of leadership responsibilities without any influence of changes in the times
