    Digitalisierung und Soziale Arbeit

Digitisation now encompasses all functional areas of society and it is hard to imagine life without it. Technical artefacts are becoming increasingly networked and form, among other things, an (invisible) background with which human actions are implicitly and explicitly interwoven in many ways. This volume takes a critical look at (possible) transformations and challenges that arise for social work in the face of socio-technical change. Old questions, such as that of social inequality, gain new contours. At the same time, new problem constellations appear on the horizon of questions, such as the substitution of human professional action by Big Data. The contributions collected in this volume attempt to bridge the gap between theory and practice and between discipline and profession

(DIPF/Orig.

The anthology is guided by the question of whether the digital sphere exhibits a materiality. Answers are explored within the horizon of the basic educational concept of education. Based on different theoretical approaches, the volume includes references to media pedagogy and media didactics as well as contributions from childhood pedagogy, historical pedagogy, aesthetic education, inclusion pedagogy, educational gender studies, school pedagogy, adult education, and empirical and theoretical educational research. In this way, diverse conceptualizations of education are proposed and contextualized, recognizing the interplay of materiality and digitalization as a space of reflection for their thinking

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

A globally expanding institutionalized education with the phenomena of nationally organized mass schooling up to the global expansion of universities is accompanied by continued exclusion: Marginalized groups, including indigenous peoples, face multiple barriers to education and are being left behind in terms of educational achievement. Intercultural education for indigenous learners are on the increase in Latin America and after the adaption of bilingual school programs, in the run of the last two decades about 100 higher education institutions and universities have been established as well. Their curricula integrate indigenous knowledge, language and the indigenous way of learning. Moreover, with the constitutional reforms in Bolivia and Ecuador the indigenous paradigm of Sumak Kawsay (Good Living) has been launched also in the field of education, promising inclusion of indigenous beliefs, values and lifestyles. The submitted research examines the indigenous paradigm of Sumak Kawsay (Good Living) and its fundamental principles on the basis of Andean philosophy and presents selected examples from school and university; how this paradigm is operationalized in curricula and implemented as intercultural education program, both in form and content. Possibilities and limitations for the design of local and cultural specific educational scenarios will be examined, given the increasing extension of global educational models and structures

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
