Obituary as a Component of the Elegiac Poetic World and as a Meta-poetic Text in the Selected Pieces by Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki
No full textThe article interprets the selected poems by Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki which use the trope of obituary. The author points out its functions. First, the obituary introduces an elegiac tone that characterizes the poet as a melancholic subject, focused on the theme of a funeral. No full textW artykule przedstawiono sylwetki 11 wybitnych trenerów absolwentów poznańskiej Akademii Wychowania Fizycznego: Michała Brzuchalskiego, Janusza Czerwińskiego, Mariana Drażdżewskiego, Krzysztofa Kisiela, Pawła Kowalskiego, Tomasza Andrzeja Kryka, Sławomira Nowaka, Czesława Szulca, Wernera Urbańskiego, Marcina Witkowskiego i Aleksandra Wojciechowskiego. Wiedza uzyskana w trakcie studiów z zakresu teorii treningu sportowego i przygotowania do uczestnictwa w zawodach sportowych pozwoliła im szkolić z sukcesami wielu reprezentantów Polski i innych krajów, tak w startach olimpijskich, jak i na mistrzostwach świata i Europy oraz w innych imprezach sportowych wysokiej rangi. Są wśród tych sportowców przedstawiciele lekkiej atletyki, pływania, żeglarstwa, kajakarstwa, wioślarstwa i piłki ręcznej.The article presents profiles of 11 notable coaches, who graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in Poznań (AWF): Michał Brzuchalski, Janusz Czerwiński, Marian Drażdżewski, Krzysztof Kisiel, Paweł Kowalski, Tomasz Andrzej Kryk, Sławomir Nowak, Czesław Szulc, Werner Urbański, Marcin Witkowski and Aleksander Wojciechowski. The knowledge gained during the study of the theory of sports training and preparation for participation in sports competitions allowed them to train successfully many representatives of Poland and other countries at the Olympic Games, World and European Championships and other events of high rank. Archives and blank spots: scholarly perspectives for recovering Polish music (1794–1945)
No full textIn this article, the author tries to present the issue of blank spots in the history of Polishmusic since 1794 (the world premiere of Cud mniemany, czyli Krakowiacy i Górale [The supposedmirtacle, or Cracovians and highlanders] composed by Jan Stefani to the libretto of Wojciech Bogusławski is regarded as a symbolic beginning of national style in Polish music) up to the end of the SecondWorld War. It was a great period in history when Poland twice did not exist as a state (between1795 and 1918 and between 1939 and 1945).At the beginning the attention is drawn to the Polish music in the nineteenth century. Author describes new discoveries such as the Second Piano Quintet in E flat Major (with double bassinstead of second cello) by Józef Nowakowski (Chopin’s friend), and String Quartets op. 1 and monumentaloratorio Passio Domini Nostri Jesu Christi by Józef Elsner who was Chopin’s teacher in the Conservatory of Music in Warsaw (Elsner’s Passio discovered at the end of the twentieth century isregarded now as the most outstanding religious piece in the history of Polish music in the nineteenth century). Among other works author also mentions romantic opera Monbar (1838) by Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński and first opera of Stanisław Moniuszko Die Schweitzerhütte (about 1839) written to the German libretto during composer’s studies at Singakademie Berlin. Addressing the issue of Polish music of the first half of the twentieth century author draws attention to the composer Eugeniusz Morawski regarded as the leading Polish author of programme music next to Mieczysław Karłowicz (unfortunately Morawski is still forgotten figure in the Polish musical life). Among others the importance of symphonic heritage of Feliks Nowowiejski, an author ofextremely popular in Europe during the second decade of twentieth century oratorio Quo vadis, is mentioned. At the end of article, the author takes up the problem of the enigmatic figure of Adolf Gużewski.The whole musical output of Gużewski, whose opera Dziewica lodowców [The Ice Maiden] was applauded in Warsaw and Russian opera houses in the second decade of the twentieth century, is now considered lost

An Attempt to Apply Pierre Schaeffer’s Typomorphology to an Analysis of Selected Experimental Radio Plays Produced by Polish Radio
No full textTekst próbuje skonfrontować typomorfologię stworzoną w latach 50. przez Pierre’a Schaeffera z analizą i interpretacją eksperymentalnych słuchowisk Teatru Polskiego Radia i Studia Eksperymentalnego. Za przykład służą tu te utwory, które w swojej warstwie fabularnej i dźwiękowej odwołały się do tematu kolejowego. Pociąg pojawia się również jako temat w kluczowej dla typomorfologicznych rozważań kompozycji Schaeffera Étude aux chemins de fer. Pod badawczą lupę wzięte zostały zarówno adaptacje radiowe (Siekierezada i Fabula rasa Edwarda Stachury, Wszystko płynie Wasilija Grossmana, Szalona lokomotywa Stanisława Ignacego Witkiewicza) jak i utwory oryginalne Teatru Polskiego Radia (Kaktus Grzegorza Walczaka). Obok klasycznych słuchowisk pole do eksplikacji stanowią tu utwory Studia Eksperymentalnego Polskiego Radia (Śniadanie na trawie w grocie Lascaux, Ptacy i ludzie Eugeniusza Rudnika). Ciekawym kontekstem dla prowadzonych nad audiosferą badań jest analiza eseju dźwiękowego Zuzanny Solakiewicz i Marcina Lenarczyka 15 stron świata. Próba konfrontacji języka typomorfologii z zjawiskami dźwiękowymi wybranych spektakli jest tu poszerzona o kontekst kolejowy, tak ważny dla zrozumienia kodu muzycznego Schaeffera. Odczytanie dźwięku w kategoriach masy, dynamiki i trwałości przyniesie nowe konteksty analityczne względem myślenia o artystycznych formach radiowych.This text represents an attempt to confront the typomorphology developed by Pierre Schaeffer in the 1950s with an analysis and interpretation of experimental radio plays produced by the Polish radio theatre and the Polish radio experimental Studio. the examples studied are works whose plot and music explore the theme of rail travel. a train actually appears as a theme in Schaeffer’s composition Etude aux chemins de fer, crucial for typomorphological analysis. the author dissects both radio adaptations (Edward Stachura’s Siekierezada and Fabula rasa, Vasily grossman’s Wszystko płynie [Everything Flows], and Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz’s Szalona lokomotywa [The Crazy Locomotive]) and also original productions of the Polish radio theatre (Grzegorz Walczak’s Kaktus [Cactus]). Apart from classic radio plays, also analysed are works produced by the Polish Radio Experimental Studio (Śniadanie na trawie w grocie Lascaux [Breakfast on the Grass in Lascaux Cave] and Ptacy i ludzie [Birds and People] by Eugeniusz Rudnik). An interesting context for research into the audiosphere is the analysis of an essay in sound by Zuzanna Solakiewicz and Marcin Lenarczyk titled 15 stron świata [Fifteen Parts of the World]. The attempt to compare the notions developed within the typomorphology with auditory phenomena in selected radio productions is broadened to include the railway context, so vital for an understanding of Schaeffer’s musical code. Interpreting sound in terms of mass, dynamics and continuity will establish new contexts for the study of artistic works broadcast on radio
Scintillation properties of ((CH3)4N)3BiCl6 as a novel lead-free perovskite halide crystal
No full textTwo-dimensional hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites (2D-HOIPs) possess intriguing structural properties which makes them promising materials for diverse optical, electronic and scintillation applications. Recently, several classes of hybrid perovskites exhibit potential candidate for radiation detection. However, the scintillation properties of corrugated-type 2D-HOIPs have not been studied so far. In this work, we investigate the scintillation performance of bismuth chloride ((CH _3 ) _4 N) _3 BiCl _6 perovskites for the lead-free candidate. No strong RL intensity at room temperature is observed due to a strong thermal quenching. A small negative thermal quenching is also observed, which infer the presence of trap states characterized by two activation energies: = 25.71 meV and = 129.27 meV. In addition, low temperature afterglow of ((CH _3 ) _4 N) _3 BiCl _6 at 10 K is estimated to be 70 s (14.5%) and 1200 s (85.5%). In low temperature thermoluminescence ((CH _3 ) _4 N) _3 BiCl _6 exhibits a broad band, which is attributed to a quasi-continuous distribution of shallow traps. All these results shed some light on the fundamentals of scintillation properties of bismuth-based perovskites

Sport will contribute to raising the knowledge, skills and abilities of doctors, therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, psychologists, biologists, researchers, practitioners and health workers interested in rehabilitation, physiotherapy, tourism and recreation.
Annual Reports of Education, Health and Sport, corresponding to the modern challenges of global health specialists collect articles from those areas of the leading centers of renowned foreign and domestic. Many of them present state of art in their field. This will be particularly valuable for young doctors in the specialization, and students. Welcome to familiarize yourself with this issue all relevant hazards and health, life and safety at work in tourism, recreation, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, nursing organization to work safely and missions in these conditions, the influence of environmental conditions on public health. Authors from abroad and the country will present an overview of contemporary challenges and solutions in these areas. The issue concerns the text of the wider work for human health, tourism, recreation, physiotherapy, nursing, wellness and rehabilitation, including the economics of health care.

W roku akademickim 2017/18 minęło 40 lat od momentu, kiedy w Lublinie rozpoczęto nauczanie języka niderlandzkiego. Przy wsparciu Katolickiego Uniwersytetu w Leuven i Katolickiego Uniwersytetu w Nijmegen Eugeniusz Wiśniowski rozpoczął w 1977 r. lektorat języka niderlandzkiego, przeformowany w 1979 r. w Ośrodek Kultury Niderlandzkiej. Wiśniowski był dyrektorem ośrodka do swojej emerytury w 1983 r. Jego następcą został Michał Kaczmarkowski, który prowadził ośrodek do 2001 r. W 2007 r. została założona Katedra Literatury i Języka Niderlandzkiego (kierownicy: 2007–2010 Koen Jaspaert i 2010–2012 Maarten Klein). Powstały też wtedy struktury umożliwiające studia magisterskie.
Aby uroczyście uczcić jubileusz 40-lecia prowadzenia zajęć z języka niderlandzkiego, zorganizowano konferencję Het (on)vertaalbare vertaald, której owocem jest niniejszy specjalny zeszyt Roczników Humanistycznych z. 5: Neofilologia. Część 1. dotyczy kwestii terminologicznych. Frieda Steurs zastanawia się, w jaki sposób język specjalistyczny funkcjonuje jako ogniwo łączące gospodarkę i społeczeństwo. Marketa Štefková i Pavlína Knap-Dlouhá traktują o aspektach terminologii prawniczej. Koen Kerremans opisuje terminologię z perspektywy translatologicznej. Do tego nawiązują dwa artykuły o terminologii medycznej: Ewa Majewska omawia wpływ języków obcych na nomenklaturę medyczną, a Chris Joby zajmuje się wpływem języka niderlandzkiego na język japoński drogą tłumaczeń japońskich książek medycznych na język niderlandzki.
Część 2. zogniskowana jest na problemach dydaktycznych. Agata Kowalska-Szubert skupia się na typowych problemach tłumaczeniowych tzw. małych słówek. Muriel Waterlot prezentuje model postępowania z tłumaczeniami biznesowymi w nauce języka obcego, a Milan Kříž kontynuuje ten wątek, pokazując, w jaki sposób włącza komponenty tłumaczeniowe do programu studiów licencjackich.
Część 3. poświęcona jest elementom kultury. Ludo Beheydt przedstawia semiotyczne podejście do problemu translatologicznego. Artykuł Kateřiny Křížovej nawiązuje do tego podejścia — Autorka przygląda się tłumaczeniom utrwalonych porównań jako komponentom językowo-‑kulturowym w języku czeskim.
Tematyka artykułów w części 4. dotyczy tłumaczeń literackich. Ton Naaijkens pokazuje, jak duży wpływ na tłumaczenie pozornie prostych tekstów może mieć perspektywa tłumaczy i ich „filtr” translatologiczny. Mediewiści Małgorzata Dowłaszewicz i Ludo Jongen przyglądają się specyficznemu problemowi tłumaczenia tekstów średniowiecznych. Beata Popławska zajmuje się natomiast tłumaczeniem zdrobnień w języku francuskim z ich odpowiednikami w języku niderlandzkim i polskim na podstawie Małego Księcia Antoine’a de Saint-Exupéry. Tę część zamyka Pim van der Horst artykułem o tłumaczeniu napisów w filmach.
Część 5. przedstawia recepcję dzieł literackich w tłumaczeniu. Wilken Engelbrecht zajmuje się czeskimi tłumaczeniami kilku niderlandzkich nowel z początku XX wieku w serii 1000 nejkrásnějších novel 1000 světových spisovatelů, które po bliższym przyjrzeniu się wyglądają na przetłumaczone nie z języka niderlandzkiego, ale z francuskiego. Magdalena Lipnicka natomiast zajmuje się problemem przekładu „realiów” w polskim tłumaczeniu Tonke Dragta De brief voor de koning.
W części 6. znalazły się teksty dotyczące dydaktycznego aspektu przekładów literackich. Marcin Polkowski wyjaśnia, w jaki sposób tłumaczenie dawnych niderlandzkich tekstów na język współczesny można wykorzystać jako pomoc w dydaktycznym opracowaniu dawnej literatury. Benjamin Bossaert pokazuje natomiast, jak można włączyć tłumaczenie literackie jako komponent dydaktyczny do praktycznie zorientowanego programu nauczania niderlandystyki.
Na końcu zbioru umieszczono varia — kilka niepowiązanych tematycznie tekstów. Anna Krýsová snuje rozważania o poezji Mustafy Stitou-a, a Małgorzata Łyczykowska zastanawia się nad rolą nieoficjalnych polskich biur prasowych w propagandzie wojennej podczas I wojny światowej.In the academic year 2017/18, 40 years have passed since the beginning of the teaching of Dutch in Lublin. With the support of the Catholic University of Leuven and the Catholic University of Nijmegen, Eugeniusz Wiśniowski began in 1977 a Dutch language course, upgraded in 1979 into a Dutch Cultural Center. Wiśniowski was the director of the center till his retirement in 1983. His successor was Michał Kaczmarkowski, who ran the center until 2001. In 2007, the Department of Dutch Literature and Language was established (directors: 2007–2010 Koen Jaspaert and 2010–2012 Maarten Klein). The master program was also created at that time.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of conducting classes in the Dutch language, a conference Het (on)vertaalbare vertaald was organized, the result of which is this special issue of Roczniki Humanistyczne, issue 5: Neofilologia. Part 1 deals with terminological issues. Frieda Steurs wonders how a specialist language functions as a link between the economy and society. Marketa Štefková and Pavlína Knap-Dlouhá treat the aspects of legal terminology. Koen Kerremans describes terminology from a translatological perspective. Two papers refer to on medical terminology: Ewa Majewska discusses the influence of foreign languages on Dutch medical terminology, and Chris Joby deals with the influence of the Dutch language on Japanese by translating Japanese medical books into Dutch.
Part 2 focuses on didactic problems. Agata Kowalska-Szubert focuses on the typical translation problems of the so-called “small words.” Muriel Waterlot presents a model of dealing with business translations in learning a foreign language, and Milan Kříž continues this thread by showing how he incorporates translation components into the undergraduate program.
Part 3 is devoted to elements of culture. Ludo Beheydt presents a semiotic approach to the translatological problem. The article by Kateřina Křížova refers to this approach, the author looks at the translations of established comparisons as linguistic and cultural components in Czech.
The themes of the articles in part 4 concern literary translations. Ton Naaijkens shows how much the translation of seemingly simple texts can be influenced by the perspective of translators and their translatological filter. The medievalists Małgorzata Dowłaszewicz and Ludo Jongen are looking at the specific problem of translating medieval texts. Beata Popławska deals with translating diminutives in French with their counterparts in Dutch and Polish on the basis of Le Petit Prince of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The section closes Pim van der Horst with an article about translating subtitles in movies.
Part 5 presents the reception of literary works in translation. Wilken Engelbrecht deals with Czech translations of several Dutch novellas from the beginning of the 20th century in the series 1000 nejkrásnějších novel 1000 světových spisovatelů, which, on closer inspection, look translated not from Dutch but from French. Magdalena Lipnicka deals with the problem of translating “realities” in the Polish translation of Tonke Dragt’s De brief voor de koning.
In part 6 there are texts on the didactic aspect of literary translations. Marcin Polkowski explains how the adaptation of ancient Dutch texts into contemporary Dutch can be used as an aid in the didactic development of old literature. On the other hand, Benjamin Bossaert shows how you can incorporate literary translation as a didactic component into a practically oriented Dutch education curriculum.
At the end of the issue some varia are placed. Anna Krýsová reflects on the poetry of Mustafa Stitou, and Małgorzata Łyczykowska reflects on the role of unofficial Polish press offices in war propaganda during the First World War
(A = PEA, BA; X = Pb, Sn, Cu, Mn; Y = Cl, Br, I) Crystals for High Light Yield and Ultrafast Scintillators
No full textTwo-dimensional (2-D) Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite (HOIP) crystals, A 2 XY 4 [A = Phenethylammonium (PEA), Butylammonium (BA); X = Pb, Sn, Cu, Mn; Y = Cl, Br, I] have been a subject of interest for solution-processable scintillators for the past two decades, due to the possibility to grow high-quality and large crystals with low-cost techniques. We start the review from PEA 2 PbBr 4 and BA 2 PbBr 4 crystals, which have light yields >10 photons/keV and scintillation decay times < 15 ns. Then, we extend our review to iodide compounds from the perspective that the smaller bandgaps and the heavier anions can allow higher light yields and shorter absorption lengths, respectively. In our previous experiments, we observed that the iodide crystals are bright while they have 1 ns optical decay times. Another approach is the investigations of the ion-doped PEA 2 PbBr 4 and BA 2 PbBr 4 , in which Li-doped PEA 2 PbBr 4 has 23 photons/keV light yields. An additional feature is the thermal neutron detection and the discrimination with gamma-ray. Finally, we investigate lead-free perovskite variants (Sn, Cu, and Mn) as they are more friendly to environments, and the emission is shifted from blue to green or red for better sensitivity with current X-ray imaging detectors. Unfortunately, the light yields are much lower than the Pb counterparts, while the decay times are considerably slower due to different exciton mechanisms. This comprehensive investigation helps us to direct our review to the identification of the ultimate 2-D RP HOIP scintillators with high light yield, ultrafast response, and environmental friendliness
