Get PDFMACAU, der Open-Access-Publikationsserver der CAU, konnte durch DeepGreen bis Anfang 2023 insgesamt 1000 wissenschaftliche Artikel zweitveröffentlichen. Dadurch hat sich die Archivsituation des wissenschaflichen Publikationsaufkommens der Kieler Universität deutlich verbessert. Grund genug, einmal einen genaueren Blick auf die Sammlung zuwerfen. Und auch wenn diese nur einen Bruchteil des tatsächlichen Veröffentlichungsvolumens der CAU repräsentiert, lassen sich an ihr in diesem Zusammenhang ferner beispielhaft Ansatzpunkte mit Workflow und Tools für eine bibliometrische Analyse und deren Potentiale aufzeigen. Das Projekt DeepGreen wird aktuell im dritten Jahr an der UB Kiel betrieben. Ein erster Zwischenbericht erschien im Dezember 2020. Seither ist der Lieferdienst, der aktuell in einem zweijährigen Pilotbetrieb zur Vorbereitung eines Realbetriebs mit nachhaltigem Finanzierungsmodell arbeitet, fest integrierter Geschäftsgang zur Open-Access-Zweitveröffentlichung von Zeitschriftenartikeln von CAU-Wissenschaftlerinnen und -wissenschaftlern an der UB Kiel geworden. Dieser Blog Beitrag wurde am 04.09.2025 von der ursprünglichen Webseite open access Infopoint Schleswig-Holstein in eine dauerhaft archivfähige Form überführt. Der Originalbeitrag wurde am 08.02.2023 auf der Plattform publiziert.MACAU, the CAU's open access publication server, was able to republish a total of 1,000 scientific articles through DeepGreen by the beginning of 2023. This has significantly improved the archiving situation for scientific publications at Kiel University. This is reason enough to take a closer look at the collection. And even though it represents only a fraction of the CAU's actual publication volume, it can be used to illustrate examples of approaches with workflows and tools for bibliometric analysis and its potential. The DeepGreen project is currently in its third year at Kiel University Library. An initial interim report was published in December 2020. Since then, the delivery service, which is currently operating as a two-year pilot project in preparation for full operation with a sustainable financing model, has become an integral part of the business process for the open access secondary publication of journal articles by CAU scientists at Kiel University Library. No full textDie Diplomarbeit untersucht, unter welchen Bedingungen ein OAIS-konformes digitales Langzeitarchiv dem Benutzer bei der Auslieferung des Archivpakets (DIP) Informationen über etwaige Veränderungen gegenüber dem Einlieferungsobjekt mitgeben kann. Dazu werden OAIS-Prozesse und einschlägige Metadatenstandards auf geeignete Aspekte untersucht. Durch problemzentrierte Interviews mit Experten verschiedener Kultureinrichtungen (Bundesarchiv Koblenz, Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen, Bibliotheksservice-Zentrum Konstanz, Future Lab-Ars Electronica GmbH Linz), die digitale Langzeitarchivierung entwickeln oder betreiben, werden Anforderungen an den Access sowie prognostizierter künftiger Benutzerbedarf ermittelt. Ein Jahr DeepGreen an der CAU: Eine Zwischenbilanz
Get PDFAfter one year of participation in the second test phase of the DeepGreen project, the University Library (UB) of Kiel has conducted an interim evaluation of its implementation at Christian‑Albrechts‑University (CAU). As of September 2020, approximately 600 scholarly articles or contributions by CAU authors, mostly published in 2019‑2020, have been identified as eligible for Open‑Access secondary publication. These works come from participating publishers including MDPI, Frontiers, Sage, De Gruyter, Karger, and more recently Wiley. To support the process, UB Kiel introduced the DeepGreen Publications Router, a data hub that continuously displays publications suitable for second publication and maps institutional affiliation via an affiliation file. Moreover, the OA publication server MACAU was established to serve as a permanent archive and freely accessible platform. MACAU ensures discoverability via search engines like Google and Google Scholar, library catalogs, and aggregators such as OpenAIRE, and supports metadata formats (BibTeX, RIS), persistent identifiers, cataloging workflows, and mirroring by the German National Library. So far (by December 2020), 273 publications from MDPI and Frontiers have been secondarily published via MACAU and entered into library and union catalogs. Particular strength is evident in the life, marine, and medical sciences, nutrition, and engineering, reflecting the disciplinary distribution among CAU’s faculties and research centers. While DeepGreen has demonstrably enhanced visibility, archiving, and reduced the effort involved in secondary Open Access publication, challenges remain—especially with embargo periods, license conditions, and fully automating workflows. Continued institutional support is deemed essential for deeper transformation in publication culture.Zur Unterstützung des Geschäftsganges Zweitveröffentlichungen im Open Access hat die UB Kiel den DeepGreen Publications Router eingeführt, einen Datenhub, der kontinuierlich für eine Zweitveröffentlichung geeignete Publikationen anzeigt und die institutionelle Zugehörigkeit über eine Zugehörigkeitsdatei abbildet. Darüber hinaus wurde der OA-Publikationsserver MACAU eingerichtet, der als permanentes Archiv und frei zugängliche Plattform dient. MACAU gewährleistet die Auffindbarkeit über Suchmaschinen wie Google und Google Scholar, Bibliothekskataloge und Aggregatoren wie OpenAIRE und unterstützt Metadatenformate (BibTeX, RIS), persistente Identifikatoren, Katalogisierungsworkflows und die Spiegelung durch die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek. Besondere Stärken zeigen sich in den Bereichen Biowissenschaften, Meereswissenschaften, Medizin, Ernährungswissenschaften und Ingenieurwissenschaften, was die fachliche Verteilung unter den Fakultäten und Forschungszentren der CAU widerspiegelt. Während DeepGreen nachweislich die Sichtbarkeit und Archivierung verbessert und den Aufwand für sekundäre Open-Access-Veröffentlichungen reduziert hat, bleiben Herausforderungen bestehen – insbesondere in Bezug auf Sperrfristen, Lizenzbedingungen und die vollständige Automatisierung von Arbeitsabläufen. Eine kontinuierliche institutionelle Unterstützung wird als unerlässlich für eine tiefgreifende Transformation der Publikationskultur angesehen
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
