    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    Full text link
    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    番石榴在本省可以週年生產,但是果實品質會因品種與採收季節之不同而異,本試驗之結果發現番石榴果實之果肉厚薄,糖度,枸櫞酸含量,種子數目與果肉乾物率均隨品種與採取季節之不同而有明顯差異。泰國拔與白拔於2~6月間採收之果實果肉較薄。種子數目以4月採收之泰國拔與3月採收之白拔最多,分別高達577粒/果與308粒/果。糖度(Brix)則以2~3月採收之泰國拔與6~8月採收之白拔較低,分別為7.7~7.8%與7.1~7.6%。枸櫞酸含量以泰國拔較為穩定,全年均維持在0.3%左右,而白拔則因採收季節而有明顯差異,5~7月採收者較低,2~4月採收者為高,其含量各為0.4~0.5%與0.7~0.8%。兩品種果實果肉之乾物率則以12月至翌年2月採收者含量較少。 Guava could be harvested year-round in Taiwan, However, fruit quality varied with varieties and harvested seasons. The results of present study indicated that the flesh diameter, sugar content (Brix), citric acid content, number of seeds and the rate of flesh dry matter obviously vary with varieties and harvested seasons. A thinner in flesh diameter was found in fruit of both Thai-Kou-Bar and Pai-Bar when the fruits were harvested in February-June. Seed content was highest in which the fruit was harvested in April for Thai-Kou-Bar (577seeds/fruit) and in March for Pai-Bar (308seeds/fruit). Sugar content (Brix) was lowest for the fruit harvested in February-March for Thai-Kou-Bar (7.7-7.8%) and in June-August for Pai-Bar (7.1-7.6%). There was a steady citric acid content (more or less 0.3%) in Thai-Kou-Bar for year around harvested fruit. However, a significant difference was found in Pai-Bar. It was lower for the fruits harvested in May-July and higher in February-April. The citric acid content was 0.4-0.5% and 0.7-0.8%, respectively. Dry weight content was lower from December, 1987 to February, 1988 for both varieties

The 1u1_{u} state is observed for the first time in any alkali dimer. Strong rotation-hyperfine couplings are observed in these 1u1_{u} spectra. These states have been used in determining the atomic dipole matrix elements(1)elements^{(1)} and as a Franck-Condon ``window'' for studying highly-excited long-range interactions(2)interactions^{(2)}
