No full textThe Catholic Church in Poland actively participates in the bioethical debate. In 2008, the Polish Bishops’ Conference established a Team of Experts for Bioethics. Its task is to monitor legislative processes and express the Church’s views on bioethical issues. The author of the article presents the issues raised by the Team’s statements published in 2021-2025. He emphasizes that the experts adopted a universal, personalistic perspective of ethical reflection, founded on respect for the life and dignity of every human person. In their statements, they use scientific arguments from the fields of biology, medicine, and law. The author also draws attention to the research project, which will cover the argumentation and reception of all statements made by the Team of Experts for Bioethics and help to use them in moral formation.Kościół katolicki w Polsce aktywnie uczestniczy w debacie bioetycznej. W 2008 roku Konferencja Episkopatu Polski powołała Zespół Ekspertów ds. Bioetycznych. Jego zadaniem jest monitorowanie procesów legislacyjnych i wyrażanie opinii Kościoła na tematy bioetyczne. Autor artykułu prezentuje problematykę wypowiedzi Zespołu, które ukazały się w latach 2021-2025. Podkreśla, że eksperci przyjęli uniwersalną, personalistyczną perspektywę refleksji etycznej, której fundamentem jest szacunek dla życia i godności każdej osoby ludzkiej. W wypowiedziach sięgają oni po argumenty naukowe z dziedziny biologii, medycyny i prawa. Autor zwraca także uwagę na projekt badawczy, który obejmie argumentację i recepcję wszystkich wypowiedzi Zespołu Ekspertów ds. Bioetycznych i pomoże je wykorzystać w formacji moralnej

No full textThe possibility of conscientious objection for different professions, particularly doctors and pharmacists, is a very topical issue both with reference to law and ethics. The author of this article suggests that the reflection should be enriched with a biblical perspective, which enables connecting the concept of conscience with the teaching of prophets and thus brings out the prophetic dimension of conscientious objection. Therefore he outlines the biblical aspect of conscience and the broad phenomenon of prophetism and depicts the prophet as the nation\u27s conscience. The author presents biblical examples of conscientious objection in the Old Testament and in the light of the words and deeds of Jesus as a Prophet. He enumerates the characteristic features of the objection and its significance for contemporary people.Możliwość sprzeciwu sumienia przez ludzi różnych zawodów, w szczególności lekarzy i farmaceutów, jest zagadnieniem żywo dyskutowanym, zarówno w aspekcie prawnym, jak i etycznym. Autor artykułu proponuje dopełnić tę refleksję o perspektywę biblijną, która pozwala skojarzyć kategorię sumienia z nauczaniem i życiem proroków, i ukazać profetyczny wymiar sprzeciwu sumienia. W tym celu szkicuje biblijny aspekt sumienia i szerokiego zjawiska profetyzmu ukazując proroka jako sumienie narodu. Na tym tle przedstawia biblijne przykłady sprzeciwu sumienia w Starym Testamencie, sprzeciw sumienia w świetle słów i czynów Jezusa jako Proroka i wskazuje na cechy charakterystyczne owego sprzeciwu oraz na jego znaczenie dla współczesnego człowieka

The author wants to present that Zbigniew Herbert in his books took a journey, a spiritual wander, to the Greek roots (beginnings) to the European culture and sources of the European humanity. He distinguishes the difference between ‘root’ (or ‘beginning’) from ‘source’. “The portrait of Socrates” by Herbert reflects the two main dimensions of poet’s creative as well as philosophical aspirations. Socrates represents different reflections on the human condition. He encompasses various – for many philosophers – unpredictable dimensions of human existence. He has ability to rational, intellectual examination of the world as well as tendency to investigate his artistic poetic work and vocation. However, the mystery of Socrates appears to be a source of creative thinking
