PENGARUH MUTILASI DAN ABLASI TERHADAP MOLTING KEPITING BAKAU (Scylla Serrata) SEBAGAI KEPITING LUNAK
Effect of Mutilation and Ablation to Molting of Mangrove Crab (Scylla serrata) as Soft Crab         Soft crabs that are more expensive than regular crab, that having hard carapace, in nature and in culture are very difficult to find. This study aimed to get the soft crabs more easily controlled the number of molting in culture, by the method of mutilation and ablation. Thus the supply in market will be able to meet existing demand. Four treatment techniques had been implemented namely mutilation, ablation, ablation + mutilation, and controls which each performed four replications. Complete Randomized Desaign (CRD) was used because the experiment was conducted in a fairly homogeneous patch of tambak pond. Experimental unit in the form of bamboo pen cages with the size of 2x1x1m filled with 20 crabs.  All experimental crabs were ready for molting (dark color) even with 40-90 g of varied sizes. The results showed that each week until the third week, the average number of crabs per unit experiment with techniques of mutilation was always having highest of molting number, respectively 1.00, 3.25, and 11.00 crabs and having the lowest mortality rate, respectively 0. 25, 1.75, and 1.25 crabs, compared with the ablation, mutilations + ablation technique, and control. Statistically four treatments in molting, in week two and three was significantly different , eventhough in mortality was not (α = 5%).Keywords : mangrove crab (Scilla serrata), soft crabs, mutilation, ablation ABSTRAK               Kepiting lunak yang harganya lebih mahal dari kepiting biasa bercangkang keras, di alam maupun dalam budidaya sangat susah ditemukan.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kepiting lunak yang lebih mudah terkontrol jumlahnya dalam budidaya, dengan metoda mutilasi dan ablasi. Dengan demikian dalam pasar ketersediaannya akan dapat memenuhi permintaan yang ada. Empat perlakuan telah dilaksanakan yaitu teknik mutilasi, ablasi, mutilasi+ablasi, dan kontrol dengan masing-masing dilakukan empat kali ulangan. Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) digunakan karena percobaan ini dilakukan di suatu petak tambak yang cukup homogen. Unit percobaan berupa keramba bambu tancap ukuran 2x1x1m yang diisi 20 kepiting yang semua kepiting dalam percobaan siap molting (warnanya gelap) meskipun dengan ukuran yang bervariatif 40-90 g. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tiap minggu sampai pada minggu ke tiga rata-rata jumlah kepiting per unit percobaan dengan teknik mutilasi selalu tertinggi terjadinya proses molting yaitu masing–masing 1,00; 3,25; dan 11,00 ekor dan mortalitasnya terendah yaitu 0,25; 1,75; dan 1,25 ekor dibanding dengan teknik ablasi, mutilasi+ablasi; dan kontrol. Secara statistik ke empat perlakuan dalam molting pada minggu ke dua dan ke tiga berbeda nyata hasil terbaik ditunjukkan oleh perlakuan mutilasi, meskipun dalam mortalitas tidak berbeda nyata (selang kepercayaan 95 %).Kata Kunci : Kepiting bakau (Scilla serrata), kepiting lunak, mutilasi, ablasi
Tanggap Tiga Varietas Lada Perdu Terhadap Pupuk Organik
Response of three bushy black pepper vaieties to organic fetilizerResponse of three bushy black pepper varieties to organic fertilizer was studied in Sukamulya Research Insulation, rom February 1992 to August 1995. The plant materials used wee pepper cuttings deived rom generative branches. The field tial with factorial treatments was designed in a random¬ ized block with three replicates and 9 plants per plot The varieties tested were : a) Lampung Daun Lebar (LDL), b) Merapin, and c) Kuching. The organic fertilizer used wee : (a) Control, (b) 800 g OST (organic soil treatment) per plant per year and (c) 20 kg cattle manure per plant per year. The esults indicated that Kuching it the best in terms of the number and length of pimary branches, canopy area, number ofberries per spike, and spike length. Fertilizer ■tauuuuts as well as its interaction with varieties had no significant efect on yield at the first harvest. Catle manure had significant effect on to spiked and dried berries it die second harvest However, based on toul production of dried teed*, var. LDL and Kuching gave a significantly higher yield compared with Merapin

Pengaruh Mn, Ai, dan Dolomit Terhadap Pertumbuhan Tanaman Cengkeh
Effect of Mn, Al and Dolomit on growth of clove.The effect om Mn, Al, Dolomit on growth of clove were investigated at laing Experimental Garden of Solok Spice and Medicinal Crops Research Sub Institute. A randomized block design with seven replications was used. Treatments contained tho levels doses of Mn (0 and 250 ppm), two levels doses of Al (0 and 50 ppm), and two levels doses of Dolomit (0 and 1000 g). the results showed that the applications of 250 ppm Mn per year per plant and 50 ppm Al per year per plant resulted in abscised symptoms on height, number of leaves, and score of growth. The abscised symptoms can be eliminated by Dolomit application of 1000 g per tree per year. The toxic effect of Mn and Al could be neutralized by Dolomit in same way
EFEKTIVITAS DOSIS PEMBERIAN PUPUK UREA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN RUMPUT PEKING (Zoysia matrella (L) Merr)
Efektivitas pemberian pupuk urea terhadap gradasi warna dan kerapatan tumbuh rumput peking. Penelitian dilakukan selama tiga bulan. penelitian ini menggunakan Rancang Acak Lengkap (RAK) dengan enam perlakuan dan empat ulangan, sehingga terdapat 24 satuan percobaan pada masing-masing lahan berukuran 1 m2. Pemberian pupuk urea yaitu P0 dosis 0 g/m2, P1 dosis 10 g/m2, P2 dosis 20 g/m2, P3 dosis 30 g/m2, P4 dosis 40 g/m2 dan P5 dosis 50 g/m2. Pemberian pupuk urea diawal penanaman. Varabel uji coba yang diamati yaitu gradasi warna dan laju kerapatan tumbuh tanaman rumput peking. Pengamatan gradasi warna dilakukan pengukuran dengan menggunakan Bagan Warna Daun (BWD). Pengamatan persentase laju kerapatan tumbuh dilakukan pengukuran dengan menggunakan grid (alat ukur kerapatan tumbuh rumput), sebanyak lima kali per lima belas hari sejak penanaman pada setiap petak percobaan. Data dianalisis menggunakan Anova dan uji Duncan Multiple Range Tes (DMRT). Hasil pengamatan warna daun tanaman rumput peking yang sehat berdasarkan alat pengukur warna daun (Leaf Color Chart), berwarna hijau dengan nilai skor 3. Pemberian pupuk urea dengan dosis 20 g/m2 dan 30 g/m2 sangat efektif menghasilkan warna hijau. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan laju kerapatan tumbuh rumput peking setiap lima belas hari paling efektif sebesar 27,92%, pada pengamatan lima belas hari ke-2, dengan perlakuan pupuk urea 20 g/m2
