Theoretical and Methodological Principles of Formation of the Spiritual Values of Students in the Conditions of Higher Education Institution

The author gives a definition of the term “spiritual values of student youth” and specifies the structural components of this personal complex. Get PDFThe profit of involving calendar holidays in the process of school children bringing up is proved in the article. The author confirms that there are many good customs and rituals with deep bringing up content. Ethnic Hutsul traditions had symbolic meaning and contributed their moral bringing up. The number of examples about children's upbringing in Hutsul families is given here, which helps in training them to religious and secular traditions. It is also said about holiday rituals, where small Hutsul children were involved. A lot of Hutsul customs and rituals have already been forgotten. But the author appeals to their renascence. The author is sure of it because customs and rituals form upbringing tradition, which proved its effectiveness during many centuries. Partly, it is important to meet children to new traditions of modern mountain schools of Hutsulshchyna (Hutsulland) to form true valuable orientation. Only this is the basis of the personality spiritual world. The author proposes to reveal the celebrations of ancient traditions such holidays as: Christmas, Easter, Trinity. During these holidays Hutsul people tried to do a lot of charity things, helping sick people, visiting ill, and making mention of the departed. That's why it is important that the modern pupils of mountain schools not only new, but followed public calendar traditions. It has to be not only following certain ritual actions, but it has to be the ability to the spiritual perception of Hutsul cultural heritage

The author offers determining indicators, structural components and criteria of high, efficient, medium and low levels of the personality spiritual values. The researcher offers a range of methods aimed at establishing the levels of spiritual values formation in students studying at the college. According to the experiment results the researcher has developed educational program in which effective forms, methods and means of upbringing spiritual values in conditions of a student group were determined. The author emphasizes the importance of pedagogical support and encouragement of every student to spiritual self-improvement. The results comparison of summative and control experiment levels have evidenced the effectiveness of pedagogical means focused on spiritual growing of student youth
Methods and Technology of Diagnosis of Personal Spiritual Values of University Students
Get PDFThe article reflects the results of the empirical study of the problem of the young person’s spiritual values formation. The importance of the study of the person’s spiritual and valuable sphere of the future educator has been emphasized. The author has developed the determining criteria of high, efficient, medium and low levels of the spiritual values formation. The researcher offers a range of methods aimed at establishing the levels of spiritual values formation in students studying pedagogical specialties at university. Significant attention has been paid to the studying of the understanding dynamics by the students of the definition context “spiritual values”, the scope of students’ knowledge concerning components of the individual’s spiritual values, ranking factors which influence the formation of the individual’s spiritual values. The author proves that the raised problem becomes more current in modern pedagogy of the higher school. As the systematized study results have confirmed the hypothesis that a significant part of surveyed students do not have enough formed system of spiritual values.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Get PDFThe article deals with the problems of teaching spiritual values to students, obtaining the profession of non-humanitarian profile. On the basis of theoretical and structural analysis, the concept «spiritual values education student's personality» has been determined. This concept has fundamental-philosophical foundation, special functional features (regulatory, resultiveness, dynamism, complexity, consistency), and through various forms, methods and means it realizes educational influence on emotions, world outlook, way and quality of life, values, readiness for self-perfection of both, the individual and the society. It is cleared out that the purpose of teaching spiritual values of students is in the training of specialists capable to think ethically, to exercise moral choice, to make moral decisions, ready for active work on spiritual self-improvement. It is determined that the task of educating the spiritual values of students, regardless of specialty and directions of training involves: improving the culture of ethical thinking, providing positive motivation for self-improvement; inclusion in the process of interaction with the environment for the formation of the ability to display feelings of deep hearty affection, implementation of the moral act.
The article explains the thesis about the necessity of creation of special educational programs, aimed at improving the process of formation of spiritually-valuable sphere of the personality of the student.Стаття присвячена проблемам виховання духовних цінностей студентів, які здобувають професію негуманітарного профілю. На підставі теоретичного, структурного аналізу визначено поняття «виховання духовних цінностей особистості студента» як ціннісне явище, що має фундаментально-філософське підґрунтя, особливі функціональні ознаки (нормативність, результативність, динамічність, комплексність, системність) та через різні форми, методи і засоби здійснює виховний вплив на емоції, світогляд, спосіб і якість життя, цінності, готовність до самовдосконалення як окремої особистості, так і усього суспільства. З’ясовано, що мета виховання духовних цінностей студентів полягає у підготовці фахівця, здатного етично мислити, здійснювати моральний вибір, приймати моральні рішення, готового до активної роботи над духовним самовдосконаленням. Встановлено, що завданнями виховання духовних цінностей студентів за будь-якої спеціальності та напряму професійної підготовки є: підвищення культури етичного мислення, забезпечення позитивної мотивації до самовдосконалення; включення у процес взаємодії з оточенням для формування спроможності вияву почуття глибокої сердечної прихильності, здійснення морального вчинку.
У статті обґрунтовується теза про необхідність створення спеціальних виховних програм, спрямованих на вдосконалення процесу формування духовно-ціннісної сфери особистості студента
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
