Percursos do silêncio: as narrativas de Luiz Vilela

Nesse sentido, o silêncio foi para minha leitura a matéria propulsora de sentidos e reveladora de subjetividades dos personagens nas narrativas. Desenvolvi leituras do silêncio com base nas próprias histórias contadas, nos excessos e negações que o mundo contemporâneo impõe aos indivíduos e nos fracassos amorosos, alicerçadas em pressupostos de Mikhail Bakhtin e em teorias acerca da modernidade. Ao relacionar o silêncio e o tempo histórico percorri os caminhos da memória, destacando o silêncio político e as políticas de silenciamento até chegar às narrativas que problematizam a velhice e as mazelas que dela decorrem.Abstract : The goal that I proposed in this thesis was to demonstrate the silence forms, on Luiz Vilela?s narratives. In this way, silence was my one driving reading matter of senses and revealing subjectivity of your characters in this narratives. I developed silence readings based in own silence stories, in excesses and denials that the contemporary imposes to individuals and failures in loving, grounded in Mikhail Bakhtin's assumptions and theories about modernity. By linking the silence and history time I scoured the paths of memory, highlighting the political silence and silencing policies to get to narratives that question the old age and the ills that flow from it

Dr. Heidi Czerweic reads English translations of the poems. These poems include “If You Leave,” “I Am,” “The Sea Shouts For His Daughter,” You Are November Rain,” Seeking Unprintable Verse,” “Don\u27t Let,” “The Wolves,” “Perpetual Heart,” and “I\u27m Already Tired.” Vilela also responds to audience questions about the languages in which she writes, her sense of language and place, and the challenges of English translation.

Eighteenth-Century Vilela
Get PDFEl vilela es una lengua del Chaco argentino sin filiación segura, severamente amenazada. A fines del año 2003, la localización de dos ancianos miembros de la última generación de hablantes abrió la posibilidad de incrementar la documentación aún escasa de esa lengua y profundizar su descripción, contribuyendo así también al conocimiento de las lenguas y los pueblos del Chaco, sus relaciones y contactos. Este artículo está centrado en la documentación sobre la lengua vilela y sus hablantes registrada por los misioneros jesuitas en el siglo XVIII. Primero, trazamos un recorrido histórico desde las menciones iniciales de los vilelas en las fuentes hasta la actualidad. Luego, presentamos los textos recogidos en la época, en la representación ortográfica original y nuestra transcripción fonémica tentativa, glosado interlinear y traducción al español, con comentarios. Por último, presentamos dos apéndices: el primero reúne todas las palabras recogidas en ese período identificando sus fuentes y el grado de reconocimiento de las mismas por los hablantes actuales; el segundo presenta un texto clave para conocer información demográfica sobre el pueblo vilela al momento de la expulsión de los jesuitas de América.Palabras clave: Lengua vilela, pueblo vilela, lenguas chaqueñas, documentación lingüística misionera, lenguas amenazadasVilela is a severely endangered Argentine Chaco language without any certain genealogical affiliation. The discovery of two elderly members of the last generation of speakers at the end of the year 2003 opened up the possibility of adding to the still scarce documentation of this language and describing it in more depth, hence for contributing to the knowledge of the languages and peoples of the Chaco, their relationships, and contacts. This article focuses on the documentation of the Vilela language and its speakers that was recorded by eighteenth-century Jesuit missionaries. We first outline the history of the Vilela from the earliest mentions of this people in the sources to present times. We then present the texts recorded in the eighteenth century in the original orthographic representation and our tentative phonemic transcription, with interlinear glosses, Spanish translation, and comments. Lastly, we include two appendices, the first of which gathers all the words recorded over this period, indicating their sources and degree of recognition by present-day speakers and the second of which is a key text of demographic information about the Vilela people at the time the Jesuits were driven out of the Americas.Fil: Golluscio, Lucia Angela.
