Range Unit Root (RUR) Tests: Robust against Nonlinearities, Error Distributions, Structural Breaks and Outliers
Get PDFSince the seminal paper by Dickey and Fuller in 1979, unit-root tests have conditioned the standard approaches to analysing time series with strong serial dependence in mean behaviour, the focus being placed on the detection of eventual unit roots in an autoregressive model fitted to the series. In this paper, we propose a completely different method to test for the type of long-wave patterns observed not only in unit-root time series but also in series following more complex data-generating mechanisms. To this end, our testing device analyses the unit-root persistence exhibited by the data while imposing very few constraints on the generating mechanism. We call our device the range unit-root (RUR) test since it is constructed from the running ranges of the series from which we derive its limit distribution. These nonparametric statistics endow the test with a number of desirable properties, the invariance to monotonic transformations of the series and the robustness to the presence of important parameter shifts. Moreover, the RUR test outperforms the power of standard unit-root tests on near-unit-root stationary time series; it is invariant with respect to the innovations distribution and asymptotically immune to noise. An extension of the RUR test, called the forward?backward range unit-root (FB-RUR) improves the check in the presence of additive outliers. Finally, we illustrate the performances of both range tests and their discrepancies with the Dickey?Fuller unit-root test on exchange rate series.Publicad
STABILITY OF GLYCINE TO ENERGETIC PROCESSING UNDER ASTROPHYSICAL CONDITIONS INVESTIGATED VIA INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY
Get PDFGlycine, the simplest aminoacid, has been detected in comets and meteorites in our Solar System. Its detection in the interstellar medium is not improbable since other organic molecules of comparable complexity have been observedfootnote{E. Herbst and E. F. van Dishoeck, Annu. Rev. Astro. Information of how complex organic molecules resist the energetic processing that they may suffer in different regions of space is of great interest for astrochemists and astrobiologists.

Herrero, Faraday Discussions, 2014, DOI: 10.1039/c3fd00132f.} we have studied in this work, via infrared spectroscopy, the effect of 2 keV electron bombardment on amorphous and crystalline glycine layers at low temperatures, to determine its destruction cross section under astrophysical conditions. Energetic electrons are known to be present in the solar wind and in planetary magnetospheres, and are also formed in the interaction of cosmic rays with matter. Moreover, we have probed the shielding effect of water ice layers grown on top of the glycine samples at 90 K. These experiment aim to mimic the conditions of the aminoacid in ice mantles on dust grains in the interstellar medium or in some outer Solar System objects, with a water ice surface crust. A residual material, product of glycine decomposition, was found at the end of the processing. No full textInternational audienceMariluz Escribano Pueo (1935-2019) is a poet who is virtually unknown in France, but who has been much appreciated and studied in Spain since 2000. In 2022, her complete works were published by Cátedra, with a comprehensive introduction by Remedios Sánchez. Her poetic work, which comprises six collections and four anthologies, offers its own ways of representing both individual and collective reality. The late nature of his publications, which range from Sonetos del alba in 1991 to Geografía de la memoria in 2018, does not correspond to the usual image of an author whose work unfolds from a young age. In fact, as Remedios Sánchez and other specialists explain, the context of the civil war and its aftermath had a strong impact on his life trajectory and consequently on his poetry, delaying not only his writing but also the publication of his first poems.Mariluz Escribano Pueo (1935-2019) est une poète quasiment inconnue en France, mais très appréciée et étudiée en Espagne depuis les années 2000 notamment . En 2022 a été publiée son œuvre complète chez Cátedra , assortie d’une riche présentation de Remedios Sánchez. L’œuvre poétique, qui compte six recueils et quatre anthologies , offre des modalités propres de représentation d’une réalité tant individuelle que collective. Get PDFThis paper presents an extension of "collective models" that rationalize household demands as efficient allocations, allowing for the joint allocation of public and private goods. Starting from the problem of efficiency, and adding a separability assumption between public goods and exclusive private goods, we obtain two results. Firstly, we find some new restrictions upon the derivatives of the demand functions. Secondly, we predict how the sharing of household expenditures between the man and the woman changes when the exclusive good's prices changes, and we measure the effect of the consumption of public goods on this change.Collective choice; Public goods; Separability;

We show that for any given beliefprobability over the set of possible outcomes where players have no experience. games can be payoff classified and there always exists a stationary state in the space of action profiles. In particular, if the belief-probability assumes all possible outcomes without experience to be equally likely, in one class of Prisoners' Dilemmas where the average defecting payoff is higher than the cooperative payoff and the average cooperative payoff is lower than the defecting payoff, play converges in the long run to the static Nash equilibrium while in the other class of Prisoners' Dilemmas where the reserve holds, play converges to cooperation.
