U. S. Azerbaijan policy analysis over neoliberal actors
After the breakup of the Soviet Union, the United States in addition to launching bilateral relations with newly independent states of the region has also started to build relations with these countries through the neo-liberal actors, transnational corporations, non-governmental organizations and international organizations. With this respect, the U.S. administrations declaring these political actors as partners have followed a semi-realistic and semi-liberal foreign policy in the region.Because of its geopolitical location, Azerbaijan is an important space for the geopolitical games not only in the Caucasus but also in Russia, Iran and Central Asia. Therefore, these actors paid special attention to this country. US oil companies tried to get greater share of the oil resources of Azerbaijan, NGOs worked on creating controllable political environment and Bretton Wood organizations tried to open the market of Azerbaijan to the US investment and goods. In this study the US policy toward Azerbaijan will be examined in the framework of transnational corporations, non-governmental organizations and international organizations particularly Bretton Woods organizations. The rivalry of the US oil companies over getting greater share of oil with other companies, the goals of the US Congress?s assistance to Azerbaijan, the US's NGOs activity in Azerbaijan and Bretton Woods organizations will be investigated

EU reconsiders relations with Azerbaijan
April and May were turning points in the European Union's relationship with the South Caucasus and Azerbaijan, which had been strained for some time. In April, Azerbaijan hosted three high-level visits from the European Union. On April 1, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited Baku, marking a significant diplomatic engagement. This was followed by the visit of EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jorgensen, who took part in the 11th ministerial meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the third ministerial meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council on April 4

Promises of Azerbaijan-China comprehensive strategic partnership
The state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the People's Republic of China on April 22-24, accompanied by a large delegation, drew significant attention both regionally and globally. The visit was particularly noteworthy against the backdrop of the ongoing U.S.-China trade rivalry, which has dominated international discourse in recent years, as well as due to the important agreements signed between Azerbaijan and China. The two leaders, who signed a strategic cooperation declaration between the two countries in July 2024, transformed this cooperation into a comprehensive strategic partnership during their last visit
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
