The life and scientific heritage of one of thB leading Ukrainian indologist, a disciple of the prominent orientalist A.P. The aim of this study was the clinical and anatomical features of innervation of the renal arteries.
The retrospective analysis of health statistics on the prevalence of resistant hypertension based on the Odessa Regional Mortem Bureau during 2011-2012 was conducted. The analysis of the results of the autopsy and subsequent histological examination of 30 bodies of deceased patients with resistant hypertension II and III stages has been done. The morphometry of renal arteries and their segments was conducted. Fragments of the renal artery were not larger than 1,0x1,0x1,0 cm, fixed in 10% neutral formalin and alcohol after standard wiring block embedded in paraffin. Sections 5.0-8.0 microns (in an amount of at least two sections with each block) were stained by the observation procedures recommended modern guidelines: hematoxylin and eosin, by Van Gieson; by Nissle, by Golgi and by Masson. The evaluation of the histological response rate in the vessels was performed visually and compared to the control group.
The greatest density of accumulation in the nerve ganglia determined adventitia proximal renal arteries, preferably on the frontal surface. Ganglions sizes ranging from 80 to 220 microns, larger than when the ganglia are located in the proximal renal artery. The main part of the sympathetic ganglia, located at a depth of 2-3 mm. Postbifurcation ganglia localization occurs in 32.2% of cases. The degree of fibrosis of the renal artery wall in hypertension does not preclude the implementation of radiofrequency catheter sympathectomy.

In order to reveal the role of fouling organisms of marine stationary platforms (MSP), situated in the North Western shelf of the Black Sea (Ukraine) used by industrial enterprise 'Chernomorneftegas' for gas extraction on the ecosystem of water area, YugNIRO expedition carried out works for assessment of their filtration ability and the role in changing of aggregate state of suspended in water elements in May 1992. The studies demonstrated that biocenosis of fouling organisms on marine stationary platforms consisted of a Mediterranean mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis), mytilaster (Mytilaster lineatus), cirripedia (Balanus improvisus), ascidian (Ciona intestinalis), Gammaridae, and sponges. Mussels were located in the examined horizons while all the other species were found only in the upper 15-meter layer. All the fouling organisms (except Gammaridae) are filtrators providing in the process of vital activity change in the suspension aggregate state and to a greater extent speeding up the process of its sedimentation. Along with this, a share of mussels in the total biomass of community was highest (99.99%). In this connection in estimations of filtration ability of fouling organisms of marine stationary stations only filtration by mussels was taken into account. According to average long-term data concentration of suspended organic matter in the north-western Black Sea is about 1.5 mg/l, and that of phytoplankton - 300 mg/l. The mussels living on the examined marine stationary platforms are able to bind and sediment up to 3250 t of suspension per year. It is known that in the process of mussels' filtration activity oil is bound by them and sediment to the bottom in faeces and pseudofaeces. With a concentration of oil products at a level of 0.022 mg/l mussels from the four examined MSP are able to bind up to 39.8 t of this pollutant during one year.
Publishe
Analytical tools in accelerator physics
This paper is a sub-set of my lectures presented in the Accelerator Physics course (USPAS, Santa Rosa, California, January 14-25, 2008). It is based on my notes I wrote during period from 1976 to 1979 in Novosibirsk. Only few copies (in Russian) were distributed to my colleagues in Novosibirsk Institute of Nuclear Physics. The goal of these notes is a complete description starting from the arbitrary reference orbit, explicit expressions for 4-potential and accelerator Hamiltonian and finishing with parameterization with action and angle variables. To a large degree follow logic developed in Theory of Cyclic Particle Accelerators by A.A.Kolmensky and A.N.Lebedev [Kolomensky], but going beyond the book in a number of directions. One of unusual feature is these notes use of matrix function and Sylvester formula for calculating matrices of arbitrary elements. Teaching the USPAS course motivated me to translate significant part of my notes into the English. I also included some introductory materials following Classical Theory of Fields by L.D. Landau and E.M. Liftsitz [Landau]. A large number of short notes covering various techniques are placed in the Appendices
Gatling gun: high average polarized current injector for eRHIC
This idea was originally developed in 2001 for, at that time, an ERL-based (and later recirculating-ring) electron-ion collider at JLab. Naturally the same idea is applicable for any gun requiring current exceeding capability of a single cathode. ERL-based eRHIC is one of such cases. This note related to eRHIC was prepared at Duke University in February 2003. In many case photo-injectors can have a limited average current - it is especially true about polarized photo-guns. It is know that e-RHIC requires average polarized electron current well above currently demonstrated by photo-injectors - hence combining currents from multiple guns is can be useful option for eRHIC
