Introduction: Why is philosophy relevant for clinical practice?
This book is intended as an intellectual resource for clinicians and healthcare professionals who are interested in digging deeper into the philosophical foundations of their daily practice. It is a tool for understanding some of the philosophical motivations and rationality behind the way medicine and healthcare are studied, evaluated and practiced. In particular, this book illustrates the impact that our thinking about causality, both philosophically and conceptually, has on the clinical encounter. The aim is to engage and empower healthcare professionals to take part in changing and defining the premises for their own practice. After all, if clinical decisions should be based on evidence, this ought to be evidence that is relevant and well-suited for the clinic. The book has two parts, Philosophical Framework and Application to the Clinic. The first part is written from the philosophical perspective and presents a singular overall framework. The second part is written primarily by clinicians who address some implications of the philosophical framework for different aspects of their own practice.Ethics & Philosophy of Technolog
Conclusion: Causehealth recommendations for making causal evidence clinically relevant and informed
From the philosophical perspective presented in the first part of this book, together with the clinical application of this framework in the second part, it follows that we must change the way we approach causal evidence of health and illness conceptually, methodologically and practically. This has some practical consequences for the clinical encounter, as discussed throughout the book. We here offer some specific CauseHealth recommendations for making causal evidence more clinically relevant and better informed by the clinical encounter. The recommendations follow from an overall consideration of the previous chapters, both the philosophical framework and its clinical implications.Ethics & Philosophy of Technolog

Penerapan Sistem Informasi (Komputerisasi Kegiatan Pertanahan) dalam Mencapai Good Governance pada Kementerian Agraria dan Tata Ruang/ Badan Pertanahan Kota Magelang
Management of data and information in an institution can support national development, but some are still less effective and efficient. This study aims to determine the application of information systems to achieve Good Governance in the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / Land Agency of Magelang City. The method used in this study was interviews with staff at the Magelang City Land Agency. The results find that the development of information technology and supporting infrastructure created opportunities to develop a more reliable, efficient, and timely computerized application for land activities (KKP) within the National Land Agency (BPN). The growing need for more accessible land information demanded by the community (policy recipients) and the government (policymakers) has increased higher than before. However, on the other hand, there are obstacles, such as the unfinished mapping of land parcels. The implication of this research is the Land Office needs to guide operators to better service quality
Description of the Meaning of the Text and the Function of the Three Chants in the Rani Work Ceremony at GBKP (Batak Karo Protestant Church) Runggun Tiga Juhar, STM Hulu District, Deli Serdang District
This paper discusses three songs in the rani work ceremony at GBKP Runggun Tiga Juhar, STM Hulu sub-district, Deli Serdang Regency. Kerja rani is one of the ceremonies held on cultural week at GBKP Runggun Tiga Juhar. The rani work ceremony is one of the sources of church finances by collecting offerings and then conducting an auction. Some of the songs used in the rani work ceremony are Sendah kerja rani, Mbuah page, and Mejuah-juah. Sendah kerja rani is a song that must be sung because it is directly related to agriculture in the Karo tribe. While the other two songs, namely the songs Mbuah page and Mejuah-juah are taken from folk songs created by Djaga depari. This research aims to analyze the meaning of the text and the musical function of the three rani work ceremony songs. In answering the research objectives, the author uses the method of field work and desk work proposed by Bruno Netll. The theory used to answer the main problem in this paper is the semiotic theory pioneered by Roland Barthes, especially the meaning of denotation and connotation. The results of the study revealed that the rani work ceremony at GBKP Runggun Tiga Juhar is one way for the church to maintain culture and liven up the atmosphere of the ceremony. The three songs in the rani work ceremony have the process of the ceremony, the meaning of the text and its functions. It can be concluded that the rani work ceremony still continues by using the rani songs.100 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Povijest znanosti i prirodne filozofije u Hrvata (s osobitim obzirom na egzaktne znanosti) Knjiga III Rani novi vijek
This volume (The Early Modern Period) is the third part of The History of Science and Natural Philosophy among the Croats (with particular reference to the exact sciences) by academician Žarko Dadić. The first two volumes were The Middle Ages (2015) and The Renaissance (2016). Volume I covered the Middle Ages up to 1526, and Volume II the period from 1526 to the end of the sixteenth century. The third part covers events from 1600 to 1699. According to the author, “the 17th century, though considered part of late medieval times, can also be identified as the Early Modern Age. In philosophical and scientific terms, it was a particular age which differed from the Renaissance and in which the foundations of completely new philosophical and scientific attitudes were laid”. 8
EXCITED STATE ELECTRIC DIPOLE MOMENT OF TWO SUBSTITUTED INDOLES THROUGH SOLVATOCHROMIC SHIFTS
Author Institution: Department of Physics, SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Karnataka, India; }; ategory {2The determination of excited state electric dipole moment through solvent shifts is one of the easiest approaches to understand the molecular structure in the excited state. These studies have gained importance due to their application in photo science, especially if they are of biological importance. In view of this the excited state electric dipole moments of two substituted indoles, which are of biological importance, are determined and reported here. The fluorescence shifts have been used and the results found seem to be more consistent in comparison with the one calculated through absorption shifts. The results presented are also discussed. A qualitative estimate of the orientation of the dipole moments in ground and excited state are also presented and discussed. Of the several methods proposed, the one proposed from N.H.Ayachit[1], N.H.Ayachit et al [2] and N.H.Ayachit & G.Neeraja Rani[3] is used in view of the several advantages it has. The versatility of Rani Chanda’s individual thinking through travel/ ভ্রমণসূত্রে রানী চন্দের ব্যক্তি-ভাবনার বহুমুখিতা
Travel literature has its own dimension. The analytical description of the various experiences gained from the places traveled by the author enhances the quality of literature. In the light of the bright educational spirit of the 20th century, new features have been formed in the travel narratives of women writers. Along with the narration, an opportunity has been found to compare the writer’s personal thoughts with contemporary times. As a result, other issues have been intertwined with the local aesthetic sense in the literary base. Rani Chanda is a conscious and talented writer of this period.
Raised in the cultural consciousness of the upper world, Rani Chand’s female mind is endowed with versatile analytical powers. From childhood, the surroundings of Santiniketan, including the proximity of Rabindranath Tagore, Abanindranath Tagore and of course Nandalal Bose; brought an atmosphere of new enthusiasm into her heart. Just as she has appreciated art like a true artist, she has made her personal thoughts clear to the reader through a perfect assessment of the overall scope through the process of travel. Immediately after her birth, she was successful in gaining experience by visiting various places.
The far-reaching scope of individual thought has been revealed through pilgrimages to religious places. The senses of scripture and contact with people who practice scripture have given stylistic elevation to the writer’s language. She has always kept the native environment alive in his memory while traveling. Even though she was far from her birthplace, she repeatedly compared familiar image of her surroundings on her journey. The accurate portrayal of the overall context of the truth of life has made the work become dear to everyone. The differences in the personal characteristics of various people have been depicted in their true form.
As the writer’s travelogue is closely associated with the Quit India Movement of 1942, a touch of socio-political themes can be found in it. Like a perfect woman’s mind in the light of the Renaissance, she presented irrefutable arguments in religious thought. Her travelogues are not just memories of sight-seeing, but have prepared new experiences for the realistic eye. Rani Chanda’s unique personality makes her stand out from other writers. Her logical and insightful arguments on various topics add to the brilliance of the subject
