Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Full text linkWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

Full text linkAbstract: The purpose of this study is gender economic development, labor force participation, unemployment, and education. The research method uses descriptive qualitative supported by quantitative data. the results of this study that the community understood enough about the concept of gender, gender equality and gender mainstreaming. women and men seem to understand women better than men. This can be seen from the results of data analysis. In terms of the notion of gender, there are still varied opinions, signifying the struggle for a variety of understandings about gender concepts. In terms of whether or not they agree with gender equality, there are still those who say disagree even though the number is small at 20.50% and when compared to that number men are greater (13.67%) than women (6.83%). because most men mentioned because women would feel no longer uncomfortable with men. From this it can be said that there is still a patriarchal culture, which considers women to feel uncomfortable facing men, men should be more authoritative, than women, where it should not have happened if they understood the concept of gender. In the end, it can be said that in general, they are conceptually aware of the concept of gender equality or gender mainstreaming but in reality, their perceptions are still influenced by the culture of male domination.

Perencanaan Rekrutmen Sumber Daya Manusia Dari Tenaga Honorer Kategori Ii Menjadi Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil Di Kabupaten Pemalang

otonomi daerah yang ditandai dengan berlakunya UU Nomor 22 Tahun 1999 tentang
Pemerintah Daerah, yang ditandai dengan pemberian kewenangan kepada pemerintah
daerah untuk mengurus rumah tangganya, juga menuntut adanya perubahan dalam
pengelolaan manajemen sumber daya manusia yang lebih efektif dan efesien
sehingga dapat menghasilkan sumber daya manusia/aparatur yang profesional dan
kompeten yang dapat menjalankan tugas dengan sebaik-baiknya dalam rangka
memberikan pelayanan kepada masyarakat. Di sisi lain komposisi pegawai negeri
sipil Kabupaten Pemalang yang tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan yaitu mengalami
kelebihan pejabat fungsional umum sebanyak 788 orang, namun
juga mengalami kekurangan pejabat fungsional tertentu sebanyak 2154 orang. Oleh
karena perlu adanya perubahan kebijakan manajemen pegawai negeri sipil tidak terkecuali
perubahan kebijkan perencanaan rekrutmen sumber daya manusia. Penelitian
ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis : (1) perencanaan
rekrutmen sumber daya manusia dari tenaga honorer kategori II menjadi calon
pegawai negeri sipil yang dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Pemalang; (2) faktor-faktor
yang mendukung dan menghambat perencanaan rekrutmen sumber daya manusia dari
tenaga honorer kategori II menjadi calon pegawai negeri sipil yang dilaksanakan
di Kabupaten Pemalang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif
dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Analisis
data dengan menggunakan metode analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) Perencanaan rekrutmen sumber daya manusia
dari tenaga honorer kategori II menjadi calon pegawai negeri sipil di Kabupaten
Pemalang tidak sesuai dengan langkah-langkah rekrutmen dan tidak sesuai dengan
ketentuan yang berlaku karena tidak dilaksanakan analisis jabatan; (2) Faktor
pendukungnya adalah anggaran dan peraturan perundang-undangan, sedangkan faktor
penghambatnya adalah sistem informasi kepegawaian, sumber daya manusia,
kebijakan pemerintah pusat, koordinasi antar instansi dalam Pemerintah
Kabupaten Pemalang. Peneliti
memberikan saran sebagai berikut : (1) Pemerintah Kabupaten Pemalang
dalam mengajukan usulan tambahan formasi hendaknya tidak hanya mempertimbangkan
hasil penyusunan formasi tetapi juga aspek rasio belanja pegawai terhadap APBD,
dan skala prioritas pembangunan. (2) perlu dilakukan peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia
pengelola kepegawaian pada masing-masing SKPD; (3) perlu pengembangan SIMPEG;
(4) perlu dilakukan koordinasi yang intensif dengan Badan Kepegawaian Negara;
(5) Perlu dilakukan koordinasi yang intensif antar SKPD di lingkungan

Full text linkAda dua persoalan yang dikaji dalam penelitian skripsi ini yakni : 1) Bagaimana proses Konseling Behavior dengan Teknik Modelling untuk Mengurangi Perilaku Negatif Seorang Remaja Yang Kurang Kasih Sayang Orang Tua di Desa Mragel Kecamatan Sukorame Kabupaten Lamongan? 2) Bagaimana hasil Konseling Behavior dengan Teknik Modelling untuk Mengurangi Perilaku Negatif Seorang Remaja Yang Kurang Kasih Sayang Orang Tua di Desa Mragel Kecamatan Sukorame Kabupaten Lamongan?. Dalam menjawab permasalahan tersebut, peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan analisa deskriptif komparatif. Peneliti mencari data dengan cara wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi serta membandingkan antara teori dengan kenyataan yang ada di lapangan. Hasil akhir dari konseling behavior dengan teknik modelling yakni adanya perubahan tingkah laku pada diri konseli. Konseli tidak lagi nongkrong cangkruk di warung kopi sampai larut malam, dan konseli sudah jarang sekali membolos sekolah. Karena konselor memberikan pencotohan modelling mengajak konseli mengikuti kegiatan di mushola seperti mengaji dan sholat berjamaah serta yasinan, konseli setelah proses konseling sudah merasakan tenang tercerahkan sadar akan neneknya sudah memberikan kasih sayang secara penuh
