The objective of this research was to determine how training relates to academic stress among officer students of the Diploma in Leadership and Management of the Infantry Company at the Army Infantry School - 2018, from the students' perspective. The approach was a quantitative, descriptive-correlational, non-experimental, cross-sectional study. The population consisted of 100 students, the sample was 80, to whom two instruments were administered: a 6-question survey with a five-category response scale referring to the variable "continuing education," designed by the author; and the Academic Stress Assessment Questionnaire by De Pablo et al. (2002), with 18 questions adapted for the Infantry School, with 4 Likert-type response alternatives for the variable "academic stress." The first instrument had a high reliability of 0.938. An analysis of the survey results revealed that 88.9% of students support or positively consider the requirements of the dimensions and indicators proposed in the instrument. The second instrument determined that only 13 students (16.3%) are stressed; the remaining 83.7% are somewhat or not at all stressed; this was amply corroborated and verified using the chi-square test. It was concluded that continuing education has a significant relationship with the academic stress of officer students in the 2018 Diploma in Leadership and Management of the Infantry Company at the Army Infantry School.Universidad Nacional de Educación Enrique Guzmán y ValleTesi

Introduction Peru is a developing country with increasing scientific production. However, it is necessary to understand the trends, impact, and collaborative networks of research to plan for policy improvements. Objective We analyzed the production, impact, and collaboration networks in the Peruvian scientific production between 2000 and 2019. Methods We did an observational analytical study. We searched Scopus for all the publications with at least one author with a Peruvian affiliation declared in the author byline. A descriptive analysis of the different characteristics, trends, and scientific collaboration was carried out. Collaboration networks were plotted using VOSviewer. Results Between 2000 and 2019, Peru had a total of 24 482 publications in scientific journals, with an average annual growth of 13.6%. Of the total, 70% of all the articles were cataloged as Clinical Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Only half of the articles had a Peruvian affiliation. The countries with the largest share of collaboration were the United States and Brazil, and the articles with international collaboration had the highest number of citations per publication. Conclusions Scientific production in Peru has increased in recent years, with a significant percentage of publications based on international collaboration and led by authors with non-Peruvian affiliations. It is necessary to strengthen collaboration ties between Peruvian and foreign institutions. Furthermore, it is essential to propitiate further research that will help solve the country's problems.

Abstract : This study refers to domestic violence against pregnant women. This violence occurs in an intimate relationship and is divided to psychological, physical and sexual. The objectives are to estimate the prevalence and factors associated with domestic violence in women during pregnancy, identify what types of violence (physical, sexual, psychological) women suffer during pregnancy, to evaluate the pattern of violence before and during pregnancy and to characterize perpetrators. The study population was 753 puerperal women whose children were born in the period from 03.01.2014 to 05.31.2014 and who were hospitalized in the rooming sectors of Public Maternity Hospitals in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. Using interviews, face to face across-sectional study was done with an adapted questionnaire from the World Health Organization (WHO), validated in Brazil named Multi-Country Study on Women's Health and Domestic Violence (WHOVAW). The interest central variable studied were: (domestic violence during pregnancy), demographic (age, skin color), socioeconomic (education, current employment, income), related to pregnancy (unplanned pregnancy, number of doctor visits, abortions), of health-related behaviors (alcohol use, smoking, drugs use), related to violence situation (couple fights, involvement in fights with others, violence in previous pregnancies, violence in the last year). The central interest variable was correlated with demographic, socioeconomic, health-related behaviors, and also to violence situation. Multivariate analyzis were performed. The prevalence of suffering violence during pregnancy was 17.8%. Psychological violence (17.5%), proved to be higher than the physical (5.4%) and sexual (0.1%). With regard to the pattern of violence, there is increasing violence in the current pregnancy (17.8%) compared to the previous year (3.7%). It was observed that the variables that remained more strongly associated without come were women who had experienced violence in the last twelve months, which had been battered in previous pregnancies, who were alcohol consumption, color skin not white, who had common mental disorders and did not had a job. In characterizing the author of assaults against women during pregnancy, the largest association was alcohol consumption, drug use, involvement in physical fights, done assaults in partner previous pregnancies and assaulting his partner in the last pregnancy

Humans with inherited MyD88 and IRAK-4 deficiencies are predisposed to hypoxemic COVID-19 pneumonia

X-linked recessive deficiency of TLR7, a MyD88- and IRAK-4-dependent endosomal ssRNA sensor, impairs SARS-CoV-2 recognition and type I IFN production in plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs), thereby underlying hypoxemic COVID-19 pneumonia with high penetrance. We report 22 unvaccinated patients with autosomal recessive MyD88 or IRAK-4 deficiency infected with SARS-CoV-2 (mean age: 10.9 yr; 2 mo to 24 yr), originating from 17 kindreds from eight countries on three continents. 16 patients were hospitalized: six with moderate, four with severe, and six with critical pneumonia, one of whom died. The risk of hypoxemic pneumonia increased with age. The risk of invasive mechanical ventilation was also much greater than in age-matched controls from the general population (OR: 74.7, 95% CI: 26.8-207.8, P < 0.001). The patients' susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 can be attributed to impaired TLR7-dependent type I IFN production by pDCs, which do not sense SARS-CoV-2 correctly. Patients with inherited MyD88 or IRAK-4 deficiency were long thought to be selectively vulnerable to pyogenic bacteria, but also have a high risk of hypoxemic COVID-19 pneumonia.sponsorship: We thank the patients and their families for placing their trust in us. Neutral pion production at midrapidity in pp and Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN TeV

No full text
Invariant yields of neutral pions at midrapidity in the transverse momentum range (Formula presented.)c measured in Pb–Pb collisions at (Formula presented.) TeV are presented for six centrality classes. The pp reference spectrum was measured in the range (Formula presented.)c at the same center-of-mass energy. The nuclear modification factor, (Formula presented.), shows a suppression of neutral pions in central Pb–Pb collisions by a factor of up to about (Formula presented.) for (Formula presented.) ≲(Formula presented.)c. The presented measurements are compared with results at lower center-of-mass energies and with theoretical calculations. © 2014, The Author(s)

In the version of this article initially published, there was a typographical error in the first sentence following the “Exposing the dead cone” heading, now reading, “The measurements of R(θ), in the three radiator (charmquark) energy intervals 5 < ERadiator < 10 GeV, 10 < ERadiator < 20 GeV and 20 < ERadiator < 35 GeV…,” where “35 GeV” initially appeared as “3 GeV.” The error has been corrected in the HTML and PDF versions of the article. *A list of authors and their affiliations appears online. © The Author(s) 2022

Coherent ρ0 photoproduction in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN=2.76 TeV

No full text
We report the first measurement at the LHC of coherent photoproduction of ρ0 mesons in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions. The invariant mass and transverse momentum distributions for ρ0 production are studied in the π+π− decay channel at mid-rapidity. The production cross section in the rapidity range |y| < 0.5 is found to be dσ/dy = 425 ± 10(stat.)− 50 + 42 (sys.) mb. Coherent ρ0 production is studied with and without requirement of nuclear breakup, and the fractional yields for various breakup scenarios are presented. The results are compared with those from lower energies and with model predictions. © 2015, The Author(s)

Measuring (KSK +/-)-K-0 interactions using Pb-Pb collisions at root S-NN=2.76 TeV

No full text
We present the first ever measurements of femtoscopic correlations between the K-S(0) and K-+/- particles. The analysis was performed on the data from Pb-Pb collisions at root S-NN = 2.76 TeV measured by the ALICE experiment. The observed femtoscopic correlations are consistent with final-state interactions proceeding via the a(0)(980) resonance. The extracted kaon source radius and correlation strength parameters for (KSK-)-K-0 are found to be equal within the experimental uncertainties to those for (KSK+)-K-0. Comparing the results of the present study with those from published identical-kaon femtoscopic studies by ALICE, mass and coupling parameters for the a(0) resonance are tested. Our results are also compatible with the interpretation of the a(0) having a tetraquark structure instead of that of a diquark. (c) 2017 The Author. Published by Elsevier B.V
