Get PDFBoka Det internasjonale gjennombruddet (2017) av Terje Tvedt har vekt stor debatt, særleg etter at boka Norsk hamskifte av Jostein Gripsrud kom ut hausten 2018. Ein siste utløpar av den debatten er Helge Pharo sin skarpe kritikk i Historisk tidsskrift 2/2019 og Tvedt sitt tilsvar i nummeret etter. Denne debatten er viktig, ikkje bare fordi den dreiar seg om sterke omformingskrefter i norsk etterkrigshistorie, men også fordi den reiser spørsmålet om kva vitskapleg diskusjon skal vera. Det aller meste av den faglege kritikken av Tvedt har dreia seg om det empiriske grunnlaget for Tvedt sine analysar, og i langt mindre grad om dei perspektiva som blir lagt fram i Tvedt si bok, noko Tvedt har gjentatt under heile denne debatten. Denne artikkelen vil likevel følgja opp dei mange innspela som har kritisert Tvedt si bok for sviktande empirisk grunnlag

No full textThe relation of philosophy to democracy remains at the center of attention in Oda Tvedt’s essay, ”Philosophy, Democracy and Poverty: The philosopher as political agent in the Apology of Plato”. Tvedt argues that the role of the philosopher as Socrates presents it in this work is first and foremost to be an agent of subversive political activity, and she finds support for this view of the philosopher’s role in other works of Plato as well as within the Apology itself. She holds that the poverty of Socrates is a vital clue to the understanding of the philosopher as a political figure in this dialogue. Taking a cue from Alain Badiou, and regarding justice as the political equivalent of truth, Tvedt investigates the relationship between democracy and philosophy in order to understand the connection between life and teachings for Plato’s Socrates. That Socrates chooses to abstain from the traditional political arenas points, Tvedt argues, toward a distinction in Plato’s political thought: the distinction between the private and the public realm, which in some ways corresponds to the distinction between the individual and the masses, and sheds light on what Plato’s criticism of the political realm really entails

Prosjektet har fokusert på hvordan et storbybarometer kan utvikles og formidles, hvilke tema det kan omfatte, og hvilket muligheter som finnes med hensyn til eksisterende barometre og datakilder. Dersom forprosjektet gir startskudd til å utvikle et storbybarometer, er det lagt til grunn at dette vil oppdateres jevnlig, f.eks. årlig. Notatet kulminerer i et sett med anbefalinger om hvordan et storbybarometer kan utvikles i en pilotfase, men inneholder også betraktninger om hvilket ambisjonsnivå et slikt barometer kan få på lengre sikt.

Forum 3, 54 (2022). https://doi.org/10.1007/s43069-022-00161-9This paper derives an entrepreneur’s optimal switching between an idle and an active state under stochastic mean reverting output prices. The paper suggests a new categorisation of the effects of mean reversion. Mean reversion affects valuation and optimal entry and exit thresholds via the variance of output prices and expected future cashflows. High variance increases the value of optionality and enhances hysteresis effects. Changes to the expected cashflow path affect the attractiveness of the active relative to the idle state. In addition, changes to the moments affect the implicit risk discounting rate and thereby valuation and the optimal switching strategy.publishedVersio
