Priority directions for agro-industrial waste processing

    No full text
Abstract. One of the pressing problems in an agricultural economy is the problem of managing agro- industrial waste. Agro-industrial waste is the most bulky in the world, but also the most renewable. Every year the amount of this biomass is in a permanent increase that has an enormous impact not only on the environment, but also a loss of a potentially valuable material, which being processed could ensure the obtaining of precious products such as fuels, feed, chemicals and even food supplements. Nowadays, alternatives for the use of agro-industrial waste and even outlets can be found. Preventive processing can be an important tool for the decomposition of this waste, which in most cases consists of cellulose, hemicelulosis and lignin. The most widespread in agro- industrial waste is of course cellulose, which can be found in large quantities. In this regard, it is necessary to identify an effective method, which would allow to separate the cellulose and hemicelulosis from the cell wall, but also at the same time economically profitable. Currently there are various methods of preventive processing, among which we can list physical, chemical, biological and mixed. The physical and chemical processing of agro-industrial waste leads to the destruction of materials present in the waste. Whereas preventive processing by biological method is considered better, since glucose is easily used by microorganisms and is present in cellulose

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    No full text
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Endeed terminology that characterized the sustainable development has become overwhelming important in order to avoid confusion, ambiguity and misconception. Describing sustainable business development, it is important to uderline three fundamental concepts, namely: economic growth, social equity and the specific abilities of natural systems to mantain dynamic balance. These three ideas are interconnected, but for the entrepreneurial mind their integration is still at an early stage. Undoubtedly, the implementation of the principles of sustainable development involves some obvious changes with an impact not only on enterprises, but also on management and entrepreneurial strategies as general concept. Currently, the business, for various reasons, is beginning to assume some responsibilities both for society and for the environment, and is trying to implement different new principles. But at the same time, business needs help and guidance in integrating the sustainable business development process

The development of the national economy from the perspective of sustainable development is determined by complex relationships between economic, social and environmental factors in the context of global transformations determined by the challenges of climate change. In the case of the Republic of Moldova, this process is determined by many challenges, by a multitude of impediments, but also by opportunities such as, for example, integration into the European Union. Examining the sustainable development of a nation requires an integrated and interdisciplinary approach, combining statistical analysis, the evaluation of economic performance indicators to characterize how public policies influence long-term economic development. In this publication, the research methodology is based on data collection and analysis, quantitative and qualitative analysis, deduction and induction, complemented by a rigorous synthesis of the specialized literature. The results obtained support the hypothesis that the adoption of sustainable, complex strategies with clearly defined objectives, the formation of an institution responsible for the transition to a circular economy can lead to increased national economic competitiveness and improved quality of life of citizens. The study highlights the key elements necessary for the implementation of the transition to a sustainable economy such as regulatory framework, financial resources, new technologies and cultural aspects. Nowadays, in most countries in the world, a growing emphasis is placed on supporting entrepreneurial development, because the development and economic growth of the country depends largely of the entrepreneurship development, which is predominantly focused on SMEs. The aim of this paper is to argue the difference in the development of SMEs between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova, based on the statistical data attesting the intensity of the development of SMEs and their shares according to their fields of activity. Often, the contribution of SMEs to non-financial business sectors and the importance of the sectors for SMEs determines the development of the economy. In this aspect, there is felt the negative impact of the overweight of the wholesale and retail trade in the turnover structure of SMEs in the Republic of Moldova. On the other hand, the distribution of SMEs in sectors where the manufacturing share is extremely low is largely due to business finance problems. At the same time, the article examines the results of the youth respondents survey conducted within the HEIFYE project in the Republic of Moldova, which highlights in particular the financial problems of entrepreneurship in our country.Nowadays, in most countries in the world, a growing emphasis is placed on supporting entrepreneurial development, because the development and economic growth of the country depends largely of the entrepreneurship development, which is predominantly focused on SMEs. “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

This article aims to argue the importance of innovations and their impact on ensuring the sustainable development of the economy. The article addresses the openness of economies to innovation and involves complex multidimensional research of different sources in the literature that studies the openness to the innovation of different countries and the expenditures allocated to support innovation, addressing innovation management issues specific to small businesses. The scientific novelty of the article consists in researching the correlation between research and development expenditure expressed in the form of their share in gross domestic product and adjusted net national income per capita. A separate line of research is to examine the opening up of emerging countries, which often face the problem of insufficient financial resources to allocate them to innovation. This problem becomes even more pressing if we take account of the specific structure of the economy in which small business enterprises dominate, with a significant share of the family business, for which the financing of innovation activities becomes even more problematic. The basic ideas in this article are managed in this way, as to argue the need for cooperation of the business environment with higher education institutions involved in research-development-innovation activities based on technology transfer. This article was made within the project of National Agency for Research and Development, Government of Republic of Moldova, no. 20.80009.0807.22, "Development of the mechanism for forming the circular economy in the Republic of Moldova"
