The political role of the people's liberation army 1949-1973
Full text linkThis thesis is to study the political role of the People's Liberation Army from the approach of structure and function. The framework of the thesis consists of three major parts, first, the influence of Chinese traditional political culture on, and the formation of, the political role of the PL A; second, the influence of domestic political struggles and external military conflicts on the development of the political role of the PLA; and the third, the analysis of the transition of the PLA's political role from the structure and personnel arrangements of the CCPCC Within the above-mentioned three scopes, this thesis make a thorough discussion on the following: (1) The relationship between the structure of the PRC and the formation of the PLA's political role; (2) How has ideology influenced the army's political role; (3) What is Mao's viewpoint and his influence on the development of the army's political role; (4) What is the link between the army and the party, and how has this developed; (6) What accounts for the expansion of the PLA's political functions; (7) What is the influence of political factional struggles on the PLA's political role; (8) Is it political institution or military institution that controls the recruitment of the military elite; (9) What are the disparities between the military elite in handling international conflicts and what are their political considerations; (10) What is the Party's position in the army; (11) How have the Party’s important meetings and personnel arrangements influenced the rise and fall of the PLA's political role

No full textTaiwan is facing threat of force, control, domination, the act of infringing Taiwan\ue2s sovereignty and eventual unification with undemocratic and improper means from Mainland China. This study is based on the importance of sovergnty for readers to understand the implied meaning of \ue2one China, same interpretation\uef\ubcand \ue2maintaining the status guo\uef\ubcmore clearly, knowing more about being dominated by Mainland China and two main future parties in Taiwan on which road they will take Taiwan. To reach this contribution, we should focus on what the political leaders say. As s result, public talks by HUNG Hsiu-chu and TSAI Ying-wen on cross-strait relationship during presidential campaign in 2016 were selected for is study. Through comparing differences between discourses conducted by these two, readers will be able to think further that Taiwan is in s difficult political situation and by this, can be more inclusive and have wisdom of seeing through changes of situation. This study adopts textual analysis method and gathers news, reports, periodical and monographs, etc. to analyze with intention in comprehending truth and false of these two presidential candidates\ue2 speeches more specifically. The main finding of this thesis is that \ue2one China, same interpretation\uef\ubcof HUNG Hsiu-chu can guarantee the peace in the Taiwan Strait\uef\ubc however, this kind of peace builds up on the basis of an uncertainly trustworthy promise of Mainland China. TSAI Ying-wens \ue2maintaing the status guo\uef\ubcWen\ue2s retains blurred and retractable space and preserve Taiwan\ue2s political subjectivity, but it brings high uncertainty and high risk to Taiwan\ue2s security

Full text linkKebijakan luar negeri suatu negara merupakan instrumen terbesar dalam mencerminkan kepentingan nasional sebuah negara. Untuk memahami mengapa kebijakan luar negeri tertentu diambil, maka harus ada pemahaman mengenai proses pembuatan kebijakan luar negeri. Kebijakan luar negeri tidak bisa hanya dijelaskan dengan menggunakan faktor internasional, domestik maupun birokrat tetapi juga harus mempertimbangkan kepercayaan dan nilai dari pembuat keputusan (Jerviss, 2017:28). Penelitian dengan judul “Kebijakan Luar Negeri Taiwan Terhadap Cina dibawah Kepemimpinan Tsai Ing Wen tahun 2016-2019” ini menganalisa latar belakang kebijakan luar negeri Taiwan terhadap Cina dibawah kepemimpinan Tsai Ing Wen menggunakan teori idisinkretik. Analisa kebijakan luar negeri yang dilihat melalui persepsi individu merupakan fokus utama dari penelitian ini. Terdapat 5 indikator yang berpengaruh terhadap keputusan kebijakan luar negeri oleh individu menurut Alex Mintz dan Karl DeRouen yaitu gaya kepemimpinan, kesehatan mental dan fisik, ego dan ambisi, latar belakang politik dan pribadi, persepsi dan realitas operasional. Dengan menggunakan teori idiosinkretik, penelitian ini menjelaskan latar belakang kebijakan luar negeri Taiwan terhadap Cina dilihat dari faktor individu Tsai Ing Wen.

No full textSejatinya Tiongkok dulu hanya terfokus di pulau utama dengan satu identitas yaitu Republic of China yang dipelopori oleh Dr. Sun Yat-sen dan Jenderal Chiang Kai-shek, tetapi semua mulai berubah ketika partai komunis pada saat itu mulai melakukan revolusi. Mao Zedong sebagai pemimpin gerakan tersebut kemudian sukses dalam mengambil alih Tiongkok (pulau utama) dari Kuomintang dan mengusir mereka ke pulau Taiwan. Akibat hal tersebut lah hingga saat ini terdapat identitas ganda antara Tiongkok dengan Taiwan. Kebijakan One-China Principle menjadi upaya Tiongkok untuk mengikat Taiwan, karena Tiongkok menganggap Taiwan juga termasuk wilayah kedaulatan Tiongkok. Namun, Taiwan menganggap bahwa mereka merupakan negara yang berdaulat sejak dulu hingga sekarang di masa pemerintahan Tsai Ing-wen. Maka di sini peneliti akan berusaha untuk menjelaskan bagaimana upaya yang dilakukan oleh Taiwan dengan berfokus pada pemerintahan Tsai Ing-wen terhadap kebijakan One-China Principle di era Xi Jinping. Peneliti juga akan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menjelaskan lebih dalam mengenai upaya-upaya yang dilakukan oleh Tsai Ing-wen, melalui konsep diplomasi negara kecil dan pengakuan diplomatik. Berdasarkan pembahasan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa upaya yang dilakukan oleh Tsai Ing-wen sudah cukup untuk mempertahankan kedaulatan mereka secara de facto, akan tetapi Taiwan tetap membutuhkan dukungan dari negara-negara besar untuk mempertahankan kedaulatan mereka dari tekanan-tekanan yang dilakukan oleh Tiongkok
A Key for Memory--The Study of Rural Literature Creation of Tsai Wen-Chang
No full textMr. Tsai, his literary creation is writing about his hometown, Kangshan. People can have the picture of the past memory about Kangshan due to his writing. As rural literature creation, it may not easy to catch people\ue2s attention. However, for people that have the same background of Mr. Tsai, his rural literature creation is the key to open our memory, and this is the reason I choose his creation as my research study.
This research is mainly investing about 12 published books of Mr. Tsai. There are five chapters in this study.\uef\ubcChapter one, abstract; this chapter presents the background of the study, the purpose of the study, the research questions, definitions of the key terms, and the significance of the study.
Chapter two, Literature Review, includes the review of three relevant studies for the readers who could have initial understanding regarding author\ue2s works. In Chapter three, the main focus is on researching for the context inside Mr. Tsai\ue2s rural literature writing. In this research, I find his writing always contains the attention to homeland, hometown concerning and social awareness. The foresaid observation leads to a summary which I categorize his writing into four main topics : Sentiment, Land, Society and Nature.
In Chapter four, I try to analyze the value of Mr. Tsai\ue2s literary works. To respond and reflect the topic of this thesis, A key for the memory, the value of Mr. Tsai\ue2s works record the folks, events and things exist in the past, and those records have become the inheritance for the descendents. Chapter five, Conclusion; in this chapter, a summary of the study will be firstly presented. Eventually, limitations of the study and suggestions for further research will be presented
