Cognitive Structures and Collaboration Patterns in Academia
13th Conference of the International-Society-for-Scientometrics-and-Informetrics (ISSI) -- JUL 04-07, 2011 -- Durban, SOUTH AFRICAThis paper develops a coherent research framework which relates cognitive structure and the collaboration patterns into an integrated socio-knowledge analysis of a given scientific community. The framework extends co-word analysis combining it with social network analysis by introducing a novel model. The new model maps actors from co-authorship networks into a strategic diagram of scientists. The mapping is based on cohesiveness and pervasiveness of issues each author has published in the field. The paper adopts a longitudinal approach to trace knowledge diffusion within peculiarity of a national level socio-knowledge system identifying interplay in between scientists socio-knowledge structures and their research strategies, and their evolutions over time. The case covers Turkish management academia spanning the years from 1922 until 2008. It is seen that, within local community, diffusion of management knowledge is lead by academicians with certain socio-knowledge properties: they have more social ties and more diversified knowledge compared to the rest; knowledge they have is distinct compared to their peers in the network; they hold certain part of their knowledge exclusively, thus knowledge-wise they don't resemble the rest; but they keep a level of common knowledge with the rest of the community. However, academicians publishing at international arena do not show any significantly differing socio-cognitive properties from each other, instead, they are merely embedded in strongly connected groups.Int Soc Scientometr & Informetr (ISSI

Discovering author impact: A PageRank perspective
This article provides an alternative perspective for measuring author impact by applying PageRank algorithm to a coauthorship network. A weighted PageRank algorithm considering citation and coauthorship network topology is proposed. We test this algorithm under different damping factors by evaluating author impact in the informetrics research community. In addition, we also compare this weighted PageRank with the h-index, citation, and program committee (PC) membership of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics (ISSI) conferences. Findings show that this weighted PageRank algorithm provides reliable results in measuring author impact
Tracking academic regional workforce retention through author affiliation data
Academic mobility is considered a standard requirement for the development and progression of an academic research career. However, this career mobility is at odds with the drive to recruit and retain professionally-qualified workers in regional Australia, to ensure future generations of regional Australians have capacity to access higher education in their home region. To date, little work has been completed regarding the retention of active research staff in regional Australia. The purpose of this paper is twofold: to determine the viability of using author affiliation data as listed on publications to track an institutional cohort of authors by their affiliation; also, to determine if data analysed using this method revealed any insights regarding the retention of academic staff. Whilst using author affiliation data was found to be viable, it required extensive data manipulation and cleansing. Once analysed, the data revealed intriguing insights into the retention and movement of active academic researchers. Implications for regional higher education will be discussed
The Effect of Earning Per Share (EPS), Price Earning Ratio (PER) and Price Book Value (PBV) Against the Stock Price of Telecommunications Sector Company Included in the Indonesian Islamic Stock Index (ISSI)
Objective - This study aims to analyze the effect of Earning Per Share (EPS), Price EarningRatio(PER)andPriceBookValue(PBV)onStockPricesinTelecommunications Sector Companies Included in the Indonesian Syariah Stock Index (ISSI) for the period 2013 - 2017. Thisresearchmethodusessecondarydata, namelydatasourcesdonotdirectlyprovide data to the author, for example through other people or documents. The sampling techniqueispurposivesampling.Ofthepopulationof6Telecommunicationscompanies listed on the Indonesian Syariah Stock Index, 4 companies that met the sample criteria were telecommunication sector companies that were registered in the calculation of theIndonesianSyariahStockIndex(ISSI)in2013-2017,telecommunicationscompanies that experienced 2 years of delisting -according to the calculation of the 2013-2017 Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI), and telecommunications companies that submit their financial statements regularly in 2013-2017. The analytical method used is the classical assumption (normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test and autocorrelationtest),multiplelinearregression, coefficientofdetermination, partialtest hypothesis (t test) and simultaneous test (F test). Results - The results of the study show that the results of partial hypothesis testing (t test) Earning Per Share (EPS) do not have an effect and are not significant on stock prices with a significance level of (0.152> 0.05) and t-count smaller than t- table (-1,505 <2,120).PriceEarningRatio(PER)hasnoeffectandisnotsignificantonstockpriceswith a significance level of (0.908> 0.05) and t-count is smaller than t-table (-0.117 <2.120). PriceBookValue(PBV)hasasignificanteffectonstockpriceswithasignificancelevel of (0.001 <0.05) and t-count is greater than t-table (3.988> 2.120). Discussion - It is hoped that this research can become a reference for expanding population coverage and research samples at Telecommunications companies.
pasar. Pemegang saham tidak melakukan reaksi yang berlebihan
seperti menjual atau membeli saham secara spontan. Tetapi dari
sebelum pandemic covid-19 sampai sesudah pandemi covid-19 para
pemegang saham masih melakukan suatu keputusan dibatas wajar dan \ud
normal.

ABSTRAK
The purpose of this research is to find out whether there are
differences in market reactions before and after the Covid-19
pandemic in mining sector companies. The formulation of the problem
in this research is to find out whether there are differences in market
reactions before and after the Covid-19 pandemic in mining sector
companies. The author uses a quantitative approach method, and
looks for differences in market reactions using the Paried Simple Test.
The research was conducted at 16 mining companies registered with
ISSI for the 2019-2021 period.
Based on the results of the parried simple test hypothesis, it
explains that abnormal returns and trading volume activity have no
market reaction before and after the Covid-19 pandemic in mining
companies registered with ISSI. Abnormal returns and trading volume
have a constant value. This means that the existence of the Covid-19
pandemic virus does not affect a market reaction. Shareholders do not
overreact, such as selling or buying shares spontaneously. However,
from before the covid-19 pandemic to after the covid-19 pandemic,
shareholders still made decisions within reasonable and normal
limits.

Dimensions of the author citation potential
The citation potential is a measure of the probability of being cited. Obviously, it is different among fields of science because of systematic differences in publication and citation behaviour across disciplines. In the past, the citation potential was studied at journal level considering the average number of references in established groups of journals. In this paper, some characterizations of the author’s scientific research through three different research dimensions are proposed: production (journal papers), impact (journal citations), and reference (bibliographical sources). An empirical application, in a set of 120 randomly selected authors in four subject areas, shows that the ratio between production and impact dimensions is a normalized measure of the citation potential at the level of individual authors.41040
