Get PDFThis paper deals about an approach to the study of myths and themes in nowadays audiovisual production, in the work of professor Román Gubern. First of all we make an introduction to the vast professor Gubern’s bibliography, which has been categorized in three main areas of knowledge. We have chosen Gubern’s main works related to the study of thematology in nowadays audiovisual production due to the fact that, precisely, the author of this article has analyzed, in her doctoral thesis, the temathology in US fiction TV series.En este artículo planteamos una aproximación al estudio de mitos y temas en la roducción audiovisual contemporánea en la obra del profesor Román Gubern. Hacemos una introducción a la bibliografía del profesor Gubern, categorizada em res grandes áreas de conocimiento. The popularization of the Internet’s publishing and dissemination tools has multiplied phenomena which previously existed, such as reader participation or narrative extension through transformation of preexisting works. In one way or another, this promotes the audience to the category of (co)authors. Participative or citizen journalism and fanfictions, which have appeared in several media, have produced the so-called transmedia narratives , which present certain legal considerations. Get PDFEste artículo analiza las características paleotelevisivas, neotelevisivas y metatelevisivas de las series de ficción estadounidenses contemporáneas pertenecientes al género dramático y a los subgéneros de aventuras («Perdidos»), policíaco («CSI: Las Vegas») y político («El ala oeste de la Casa Blanca»). El objeto de la investigación consiste en estudiar dichas series televisivas estadounidenses dramáticas en relación a las tres eras que dividen la breve historia de la televisión hasta la actualidad, con la finalidad de detectar las características definitorias del medio en la serialidad de ficción y su relación con su propia diacronía. La metodología parte de los conceptos teóricos trabajados por varios estudiosos. Se destacan la autorreferencialidad y la intertextualidad como algunas de las características metatelevisivas predominantes, y se analiza la transmisión ideológica en dichas seriesThis paper analyses the paleoTV, neoTV and metaTV features in three US drama series belonging to drama series genres and adventure subgenres: adventures («Lost»), crime («CSI: Crime Scene Investigation») and politics («The West Wing»). The aim of the research is to study these TV series in relation to the three eras which divide the short history of TV up to today, to determine the features that define this media in serial fiction and its relation to its own diachronic moment. The methodology of this work is based on the concepts of several scholars and makes references to other US fiction series. El paranormal a "Perdidos". Anàlisi de cas de la ciència ficció en la intergenericitat televisiva
Get PDFLa recuperació del gènere a Perdidos (Lost, ABC: 2004) es produeix en un context televisiu de predomini del realisme en la ficció televisiva, establint el retorn del fantàstic a principi de mil·lenni. Perdidos és un producte híbrid, que conté ingredients de ciència ficció, bàsicament paranormals. Combina els gèneres d'aventures, el sobrenatural, la telerrealitat i les teories conspiradores (conspiranoia). La ciència ficció, així com les múltiples estratègies d'interactivitat de la sèrie, constitueix un dels motius de l'èxit de la sèrie, especialment entre la seva audiència jove i amb preferències tecnofíliques (geek). S'analitza el dubte a Perdidos com a motor genèric del paranormal i com a estratègia narrativa textual

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
