Rationale for Medium Cutoff Membranes in COVID-19 Patients Requiring Renal Replacement Therapy
No full textThe current pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) spotlighted the vulnerability of patients with chronic kidney disease stage 5 on maintenance hemodialysis (HD) to the viral infection. Social distancing is the most effective preventive measure to reduce the risk of infection. Nonetheless, the necessity to frequently reach the dialysis center and the inherent social gathering both impede social distancing and also self-quarantine for infected individuals. A baseline hyperinflammatory state driven by factors such as the retention of uremic toxins afflicts these patients. Concomitantly, a condition of relative immunosuppression is also attributed to similar factors. The use of high-flux (HF) dialyzers for HD is the standard of care. However, with HF membranes, the removal of large middle molecules is scant. Management of Acute Kidney Injury in Patients With COVID-19
No full textThe outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has rapidly evolved into a global pandemic. Most patients with COVID-19 have mild symptoms, but about 5% develop severe symptoms, which can include acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, and multiple organ failure. Kidney involvement is frequent, with clinical presentation ranging from mild proteinuria to progressive acute kidney injury (AKI) necessitating renal replacement therapy (RRT). An understanding of the pathophysiology and mechanisms of kidney damage and AKI in the setting of critical illness and COVID-19 is emerging, although further research is needed to identify patients at risk of AKI and to guide management strategies. As no specific treatment options exist for AKI secondary to COVID-19, intensive care is largely supportive. Current approaches to prevention and management of AKI, and identification of potential indications for use of RRT and sequential extracorporeal therapies, are based mainly on clinical ex..

Temos por objetivo analisar esta casa bus-cando perceber as transformações, tanto doutrinárias quanto rituais, o-corridas a partir do período que este dirigente assumiu a frente da Ten-da. Para isso nos basearemos no continuum religioso proposto por Can-dido Procópio Ferreira de Camargo, tentando mostrar o quão o terreiro de Martins se afasta da africanidade e aproxima-se da doutrina Espírita codificada por Allan Kardec. Tal processo de mudança, chamaremos de “Kardequização” de Almas e Angola.This monograph studies the “terreiro” of Umbanda and Angola, “Tenda Espírita Caboclo Cobra Verde” and its leader Giovanni Martins (Father Giovanni). REIS: Ruimtelijk Energetisch Informatie-Systeem ter ondersteuning van de gemeentelijke energieplanning
No full textIn de scriptie wordt een deel van het onderzoek naar een Ruimtelijk Energetisch Informatiesysteem (REIS) ter ondersteuning van de gemeentelijke energieplanning beschreven. Het betreft met name de informatie-, presentatie- en gegevensanalyse. Het REIS is reeds sinds 1983 onderwerp van onderzoek binnen de Stichting Studiecentrum voor Vastgoedinformatie (SSVI), doch dit onderzoek concentreert zich meer op een methodiek ten behoeve van de gemeentelijke energieplanning en de toepasbaarheid van het REIS binnen deze methodiek. In het afstudeeronderzoek staat het REIS zelf centraal, en er worden aspecten bij het onderzoek betrokken die in het SSVI-onderzoek niet aan de orde komen. Dit om de voorwaarden en uitgangspunten die ten behoeve van het REIS worden gedefinieerd een theoretische onderbouwing te geven. De theorie die bij het onderzoek wordt betrokken heeft zowel betrekking op de informatica, de informatievoorziening als de vastgoed. Deze vakgebieden komen in feite samen binnen de theorie met betrekking tot de vastgoedinformatiesystemen, een onderdeel van de geodesie. Het REIS dient gegevens te verstrekken op basis van energiekenmerken van vastgoedobjekten (geografische eenheden), hetgeen verklaart waarom het REIS onderwerp van studie is binnen de afdeling Geodesie. No full textUma organização que se prende aos seus erros tende ao fracasso caso não mude seu comportamento. A gestão da qualidade é uma atividade coordenada para dirigir e controlar uma organização possibilitando a melhoria de produtos/serviços. Para realização desse estudo foi estabelecido como objetivo Geral a identificação dos problemas encontrados nos Departamentos de Administração, Biblioteconomia, Ciências Contábeis, Direito e Ciências Economica da Universidade Federal de Rondônia na visão de docentes e discentes. Tem como objetivos específicos Realizar um levantamento de dados dos cursos (1); Examinar os dados coletados e posteriormente diagnosticar os problemas encontrados (2); Indicar sugestões de melhoria ao curso para o ajustamento e melhoria da qualidade em face dos subsídios teórico-conceituais levantados (3). Metodologia foi utilizado o método do estudo de caso com aplicação de entrevistas. Os resultados foram elaborados com base no gráfico de Ishikawa, que identificou deficiência em cada departamento dentro dos eixos Aluno, Equipamento, Ambiente, Medidas, Métodos e Mão-de-obra. Conclue-se que é possível delimitar os desafios para uma gestão de qualidade de modo a contribuir para a construção de políticas institucionais de adequação e ajustamento do processo de ensino.

No full textAbstract. Reis Felix claims he has no imagination in order to justify the closeness between his fiction and his experienced life. When editing the Portuguese translation of his short novel, Da Gama, Cary Grant, and the Election of 1934, it became clear to me that Reis Felix is being endearingly but also unnecessarily modest. For two main reasons: 1) all fiction is autobiographical; 2) by giving form to his memory, Reis Felix accomplished a magnificent work of imagination. Mainly, where was he—the alter ego of the author—in the climatic cinema scene where a young woman faces the hardship of love whilst watching an (as far as I could verify, I’m still searching) inexistent Cary Grant movie
