Key Words: Improving, explaining word technique, Students’ Speaking Skill, STAIN Palopo. This thesis focuses on the improvement of students’ speaking skill at STAIN Palopo by explaining word technique. This thesis focused on two research questions; can explaining word technique improve students’ speaking skill to the second year English program of STAIN Palopo?, and how are the students’ attitude toward expalining word in improving speaking skill? This researcher applied pre-experimental research with one group of pre-test and post-test design. This research was undertaken at the second year English program of STAIN Palopo. The numbers of population were 150 students and the researcher took 20 students as samples using the random sampling technique. The researcher used guided interview, and questionnaires as instruments of the data collection. The result of this research shows that there were significant developments on students’ speaking skill at the second year English program of STAIN Palopo after conducting the treatments by using explaining word technique. In which, the score of ttest (14,34) is bigger than the score of ttable (2,09). It means that explaining word technique gives significant improvement to the students’ speaking skill. In addition, the researcher found almost all of the students gave positive responds toward explaining word technique applied in learning speaking

    This is a writing of the contributions of KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin in the development of the Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng Islamic Boarding School, Bantaeng Regency, from 1986 to 2004. The main objectives of this research are to detail the biography of KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin, trace the history of the founding of the Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng Islamic Boarding School, and analyze the contributions of KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin to the school's development. This research employs a qualitative descriptive analysis method, utilizing both library and field data. The primary field data source was obtained through interviews, while the library data were collected from various relevant sources. The research approach encompasses historical, educational, religious, and anthropological perspectives. The research steps include heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this research are as follows: First, KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin was born in the village of Ereng-Ereng, Bantaeng, on June 6, 1940. His notable works include the book "Al-Tashrif," the book "Mahu Al-Ibadah," and guidelines for Zakat and Fasting. Second, the history of the Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng Islamic Boarding School began with the return of KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin to his hometown to promote Islamic education. In 1986, he founded the Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng Islamic Boarding School. Third, KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin's focus on deepening religious knowledge had a positive impact on the students, leading to the development of a cadre of preachers to continue his missionary efforts. Implications: The author hopes that this thesis will be useful for readers to learn about KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin, a scholar who significantly influenced the development of Islamic education, particularly at the Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng Islamic Boarding School in Bantaeng Regency. Future researchers are recommended to discuss in more detail the development of Islamic boarding schools influenced by KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin's thinking.Tulisan ini adalah studi mengenai kontribusi KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin dalam pengembangan pondok pesantren Al-Furqan Ereng-ereng Kabupaten Bantaeng tahun 1986-2004. Dengan masalah pokok yang menjadi tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui biografi pendidikan KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin, untuk mengetahui sejarah pendirian pesantren Al-Furqan Ereng-ereng, serta menganalisis kontribusi KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin dalam pengembangan Pesantren Al-Furqan Ereng-ereng. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif analisis deskriptif dengan data pustaka dan data lapangan. Sumber utama data lapangan diperoleh melalui wawancara. Sedangkan data data pustaka diperoleh melalui penulusuran sumber-sumber pustaka terkait. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan historis, pendidikan, agama, dan antropologi. Langkah-langkah penelitian ini adalah heuristik, ktirik sumber, interspretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh pertama, KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin lahir di kampung Ereng-Ereng Bantaeng pada tanggal 06 Juni 1940, dengan karya-karyanya ialah kitab Al-Tashrif kitab Mahu Al-Ibadah, Pedoman Zakat dan Puasa. Kedua, sejarah Pesantren Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng dimulai dengan kembalinya KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin ke kampung halamanya untuk mengembangkan pendidikan Islam hingga pada tahun 1986 KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin mendirikan Pesantren Al-Furqan Ereng-Ereng. Ketiga, pengembangan pendidikan dengan memfokuskan untuk memperdalam ilmu agama yang diterapkan KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin berdampak positif terhadap santri sehingga mampu melahirkan kader muballigh sebagai penerus perjuangan dakwahnya. Implikasi, Penulis berharap agar skripsi ini dapat bermanfaat bagi pembaca untuk mengetahui salah satu ulama yakni KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin yang memberikan pengaruhnya terhadap pengembangan pendidikan Islam terutama pada Pesantren Al-Furqan Ereng-ereng Kabupaten Bantaeng. Juga disarankan bagi peneliti selanjutnya membahas lebih detail mengenai perkembangan pesantren yang dipengaruhi pemikiran KH. Muh. Nuh Khaeruddin

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Implementasi Peraturan Daerah Kabupaten Soppeng No. 66 Tahun 2006 Tentang Pelestarian Burung Kelelawar khususnya Pasal 7 pencegahan dan penanggulangan kegiatan perburuan kelelawar di Kelurahan Botto Kecamatan Lalabata Kabupaten Soppeng, (2) Faktor pendukung dan penghambat pelaksanaan Peraturan Daerah No. 66 Tahun 2006 Tentang Pelestarian Burung Kelelawar khususnya Pasal 7 pencegahan dan penanggulangan kegiatan perburuan kelelawar di Kelurahan Botto Kecamatan Lalabata Kabupaten Soppeng. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif dan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Adapun sumber data yang digunakan yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi: Observasi, Wawancara dan Dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian diolah dengan menggunakan analisis data secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (i) Impementasi Peraturan Daerah Kabupaten Soppeng No. 66 Tahun 2006 khususnya Pasal 7 pencegahan dan penanggulangan kegiatan perburuan kelelawar di Kelurahan Botto Kecamatan Lalabata Kabupaten Soppeng telah terlaksana, ini terbukti dengan adanya beberapa bentuk pelaksanaan kegiatan seperti kegiatan patroli, pembuatan taman, melakukan penyuluhan, dan melakukan peremajaan berupa penanaman pohon.(ii) Faktor Pendukung terlaksananya kegiatan sosialisasi pencegahan dan penanggulangan perburuan kelelawar di Kelurahan Botto diantaranya ketersediaan dana APBD untuk pelaksanaan kegiatan pelestarian burung kelelawar, adanya tenaga penyuluh lingkungan hidup kabupaten, kecamatan, dan desa/kelurahan, serta adanya dukungan baik dari pemerintah Kabupaten Soppeng maupun Kelurahan Botto. Selain itu terdapat beberapa faktor yang menjadi penghambat terlaksananya kegiatan sosialisasi pencegahan dan penanggulangan perburuan kelelawar diantaranya kurangnya personil dari pihak pemerintah khususnya dinas lingkungan hidup dalam mengawasi habitat kelelawar dari perburuan, adanya perluasan jaringan jalan serta aktifitas lain dari masyarakat berupa perluasan perkebunan dan bertambahnya pemukiman penduduk sehingga kelelawar tersingkir dari habitat aslinya

    A gale of change is blowing in the pedagogy of English Language Teaching (ELT) ICT has initiated new possibilities into classroom. This research paper aims at sharing practical experiments wth ICT in teaching English language and literature. It deals with the pragmatic aspects of using ICT with the student community of business management and humanities. The extensive use of web 2.0. components, internet, blogs, e-groups, SMSs, emails. Socializing portals, e-dictionaries, e-encyclopedia, power point presentation, webcasting, and audio-video, as teaching tools have been mad in the classroom. The student community was motivated to make use of cyber cafes and GPRS mobiles to interact with the teacher.     Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui, mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis sistem nilai kearifan lokal Sunda dalam manajemen sekolah yang berorientasi pada budaya mutu. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnopedagogi yang berlokasi di SMP Negeri 2 dan 5 Purwakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah Kepala Dinas Pendidikan Kab. Purwakarta, Pengawas sekolah, Kepala Sekolah, guru, tenaga kependidikan (staf), siswa, orang tua siswa, dan masyarakat sekitar lingkungan sekolah. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan model iterative Miles dan Huberman, yang meliputi pengumpulan data, penyajian data, penyingkatan, dan simpulan. Keabsahan hasil penelitian diuji dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai kearifan lokal Sunda yang merupakan manifestasi dari nilai silih asah, silih asih, dan silih asuh (SILAS), serta nilai cageur, begeur, bener, singer, dan pinter (CBBSP) telah tertransformasi dalam proses manajemen sekolah. Kearifan lokal Sunda sebagai sistem nilai dalam praktik manajemen di sekolah dibangun melalui proses perencanaan, pengorganisasian, kepemimpinan dan evaluasi yang diinternalisasikan ke dalam visi dan misi, manajemen SDM, manajemen Sapras, kurikulum, penguatan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan seni, proses pembelajaraan, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, pelaksanaan program dan penguatan tata tertib sekolah. Sistem nilai tersebut mampu menghadirkan nilai pendidikan dalam aktifitas manajemen sekolah yang berorientasi pada budaya mutu (school quality culture). Terbentuknya budaya mutu melalui berbagai jenis program dalam proses pendidikan yang berlangsung di sekolah, keluarga, dan lingkungan masyarakat berimplikasi pada kepuasan stakeholder (costumers satisfaction) sehingga tercipta nilai kedamaian dan kesejahteraan sebagai tujuan dan fungsi kearifan lokal. Oleh karena itu, kearifan lokal sebagai sistem nilai dalam kegiatan pendidikan termasuk dalam proses manajemen sekolah mampu membentuk kinerja sekolah yang positif sehingga menciptakan iklim mutu yang berorientasi pada terbentuknya budaya mutu sekolah. Membentuk iklim sekolah yang berbudaya mutu dapat dibangun melalui implementasi sistem nilai FATE dalam penguatan nilai kearifan lokal dalam aktifitas pendidikan. Kata Kunci: Budaya Mutu, Kearifan Lokal Sunda, Manajemen Sekolah, Sistem Nilai Abstract The aims of this research is to find out, describe and analyze the value systems of Sundanese local wisdom in school quality management. The research design uses a qualitative method with ethnopedagogy approach which is located in SMP Negeri 2 and 5 Purwakarta. Data collection techniques uses interviews, observation, documentation, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Participants in this study were the Head of the District Education Office of Purwakarta, School Supervisors, Principals, teachers, staff, students, parents, and the community around the school environment. The data obtained were analyzed using the iterative model of Miles and Huberman which included data collection, data display, condentation, and conclusions. The validity of the research results was tested by using triangulation techniques. The results showed that the value of Sundanese local wisdom which is a manifestation of the values of silih asah (stimulating potentials), silih asih (providing affection), and silih asuh (fulfilling the needs) (SILAS), as well as the values of cageur (health), bageur (good), bener (right), singer (introspective/skilled), and pinter (smart) (CBBSP) have been transformed in the school management process. Sundanese local wisdom as a value system in management practices in schools is built through the processes of planning, organizing, leadership and evaluation that are internalized into the vision and mission, human resourse management, facilities and infrastructure management, curriculum, strengthening science, technology and art, learning processes, extracurricular activities, implementation and strengthening of program through school rules. The value system is able to present the value of education in school management activities oriented to school quality culture. The formation of a quality culture through various types of programs in the educational process that takes place in schools, families, and the community environment has implications for stakeholder satisfaction, so as to create the value of peace and well-being as a goal and function of local wisdom. Therefore, local wisdom as a value system in educational activities including the school management process is able to form positive school performance so as to create a quality climate oriented to the formation of a school quality culture. Forming a quality cultured school climate can be built through the implementation of the FATE value system in strengthening the value of local wisdom in educational activities.
