Geographical analysis of the european air cargo network: a comparative study from Pre-COVID-2019 to pandemic-impacted 2021
This study analyzes the structure of the European air cargo network by applying complex network analysis to Eurostat’s air cargo data from 291 airports in 2019 (pre-pandemic) and 260 airports in 2021 (pandemic-impacted), across 44 European countries. The results identify Leipzig, Cologne, and Paris Charles de Gaulle as key cargo hubs whose central roles strengthened during the pandemic. While the overall network structure remained stable, increased concentration around major hubs and fewer, more centralized clusters emerged in 2021. The findings highlight the resilience of Europe’s air cargo network and emphasize the significance of geographical factors in its evolution during crisis periods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025

The Author on the Stage with Multiple Hats in J. M. Coetzee’s Elizabeth Costello
J.M. Coetzee is directly or indirectly always concerned with the multi-layered narrative texts problematising the concept of authorship and narration. This study treats the two novels as “textual narratives” and “narrative dramas” at a time. From a postclassical narratological perspective, the study investigates the narrators and narrative levels in J. M. Coetzee’s Elizabeth Costello (2003) with authors without authority. The characters in the novel occupy the roles of authors, narrators and characters having remarkable intellectual, self-conscious and reflective capabilities. The implied author, playing with the evasive links between the biographical connotations and fictional denotations, elucidates the fictional status of the novels regarding various narrative and authorial strategies. The study aims to reveal that it complicates the narrative levels and narrative voices and further incorporates them with that of the implied author. The study, therefore, foregrounding the narratological insights into literary representation of the characters, narrators and fictional authors, explores how Coetzee questions the notions of fiction, history, metatextual narrative and narrative drama amalgamating the elements of narrative representation, ideology and morality, politics (ecopolitics) and literary theory, writing as a semiotic praxis and writing as performance. The paper concludes that Coetzee undermines the hierarchical concepts and binary oppositions (textual, fictional, cultural, historical) assumed or produced through the act of writing or representation
İzmir Doğal Hayatında Yaşayan bir Avrasya Porsuğunda (Meles meles) Toxoplasma gondii'nin Saptanması
Toxoplasma gondii is an obligatory intracellular protozoon parasite that causes toxoplasmosis in humans and all warm-blooded animals. in this study, we aimed to investigate the presence of T. gondii DNA in a Eurasian badger (Meles meles) that was found dead in the wildlife area of Izmir. According to the results of real time polymerase chain reaction, T. gondii REP gene was found to be positive in the Eurasian badger brain homogenate. in conclusion, Eurasian badger, a known carnivore, can be a potential source of toxoplasmosis in the natural settings of İzmir, Turkey.
Dynamic PRA: an Overview of New Algorithms to Generate, Analyze and Visualize Data
State of the art PRA methods, i.e. Dynamic PRA
(DPRA) methodologies, largely employ system
simulator codes to accurately model system dynamics.
Typically, these system simulator codes (e.g., RELAP5 )
are coupled with other codes (e.g., ADAPT,
RAVEN that monitor and control the simulation. The
latter codes, in particular, introduce both deterministic
(e.g., system control logic, operating procedures) and
stochastic (e.g., component failures, variable uncertainties)
elements into the simulation. A typical DPRA analysis is
performed by:
1. Sampling values of a set of parameters from the
uncertainty space of interest
2. Simulating the system behavior for that specific set of
parameter values
3. Analyzing the set of simulation runs
4. Visualizing the correlations between parameter values
and simulation outcome
Step 1 is typically performed by randomly sampling
from a given distribution (i.e., Monte-Carlo) or selecting
such parameter values as inputs from the user (i.e.,

Determining the information literacy skills of teacher candidates for the sustainability of quality in education
AbstractThe aim of this study is to determine information literacy skills of teacher candidates. For collecting data “Information Literacy Survey” which was developped by Aldemir (2004) was used. In the analysis of the data, ANOVA test and t-test was used. At the end of the study results were discussed and the alternative ways were suggested
