Pengaruh Datuk Raja Ahmad Dalam Penyebaran Ajaran Agama Islam Di Pulau Nias
This study will examine the influence of Injik Puncak Alam or better known on Nias Island by the name of Datuk Raja Ahmad in the spread of Islamic teachings on the island of Nias. This research is a qualitative research type of field research using historical methods. The data collection techniques in this study used participatory observation techniques with complete participation, semi-structured interview techniques, and used literature studies in the form of photos, literature studies, journals, and online articles about Datuk Raja Ahmad, Nias culture, and Nias history. The results of this study reveal that through the history of the arrival and life of Datuk Raja Ahmad on the island of Nias, he spent more time protechting the people of the island of Nias, especially the coastal areas from pirates. Datuk Raja Ahmad’s greatest influence in spreading the teachings of Islam on the Island of Nias was when he built Kampung Dalam Gunungsitoli and implemented the culture or customs resulting from the assimilation of three cultures, namely: Nias, Aceh, and Minang, which later became known as the Nias Coastal Culture. So according to the author, the influence of Datuk Raja Ahmad in spreading the teachings of Islam on the island of Nias, has simillarities with the influence of the Waliyullah when carrying out Islamic dakwah (spreading/introducing Islam) to the community
Public relations campaign strategy PT. Pelindo 1 in socializing the Porting Business
PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) is a corporation engaged in the maritime and port sector under the auspices of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) headquartered in Belawan, North Sumatra. As a corporation, of course, a campaign is required to inform the business being run so that it is more widely known by the public. As a form of public relations campaign and an effort to socialize its business, Pelindo 1 offers Port Visit activities as a means of learning about the world of ports. This research was conducted to find out how PT Pelindo 1's Public Relations Campaign Strategy in Disseminating its Port Business through the Port Visit program. In this research, it focuses on Port Visit activities with PERHUMAS Muda Medan which was held on February 28, 2020. The type of research that the writer does is descriptive qualitative. In this study, the authors used the theory of Corporate Campaign Theory and AIDDA theory as the basis for campaign marketing. By using the direct observation method where the author participates in the concept-making process and organizing activities as well as the interview method with 5 (five) resource persons, 2 (two) of whom are the Pelindo 1 public relations team, and 3 (three) others are activity participants. The result of this research is that Pelindo 1's PR has made the Port Visit activity a superior program and campaign tool to socialize port business to the community. This is evidenced by the fact that Port visits are registered in the company's Monthly Activity Plan (RKB) and are carried out routinely 2-3 times in a few months. Based on the results of the research, the participants who took part in the Port Visit activity admitted that the concept was not only theoretical but involved directly in the field to see the port area, as well as a fun session as an evaluation stage, making their thinking about the world of the ports and the role and function of ports change not only as a place leaning on ships but serving as a gateway to the world economy
Behavior of steel beams subjected to LTB at elevated temperature/Fire
When the steel beam is subjected to fire, there are great chances for the steel beam to decrease
its stiffness due to which the flexural and lateral torsional buckling capacity (LTB) properties
of respective steel beam affected. At an elevated temperature, there exist a non-linear stressstrain behavior of steel beam at an elevated temperature. The steel beam is subjected to fire
under different elevated temperatures in Finite Element Modeling tools and ANSYS to
investigate the behavior and changing properties during the elevated temperature. The FEM is
considered validated instead of experimentation for fire in laboratory because to get such high
temperature just for prototype or modeling is not achievable, thus, to study the behavior of steel
using modeling techniques. The specific modeling tools create an experimental model to study
by carrying the set of parametric studies. The steel beam is analyzed by changing the thermal
properties, mechanical and physical properties at an elevated temperature.
The main theme of this research congested only with lateral torsional buckling moment
capacity of I-beam and non-dimensional slenderness ratio. Buckling plays an important in the
stability of structures.
To investigate this, there are five cases while analyzing the I-Beam throughout the crosssection and at various locations when subjected to fire or elevated temperature.
1) Case 01: No fire or elevated temperature: In this case, the steel beam is analyzed
without having elevated temperature.
2) Case 02: Whole cross-section of the beam is subjected to fire or elevated temperature
of same nature. The reduction in physical properties are applied throughout the beam.
3) Case 03: The elevated temperature in the beam is subjected to whole bottom flange and
half of web in uniform way.
4) Case 04: In this case, the elevated temperature is subjected to top and bottom flange
and web at L/3.
5) Case 05: In this case, the elevated temperature is subjected to 1/3 of mid-span length
of the I-beam at the bottom flange and the lower half of the web.
The purpose and objective of this study to analyze how the steel beam behave in case of
subjected to fire, in different scenarios discussed above, on lateral torsional buckling capacity
(Mb,Rd). When different test is applied through FEM, then it came to know that the steel
specimen is getting failed under LTB irrespective of fire and end support condition. There exist
two kinds of buckling while studying; one is linear buckling analysis and nonlinear buckling
analysis. It is common observation that, with the increase in temperature, the length of the steel
beam also increases due to the phenomenon of expansion or contraction properties of steel in
an increasing or decreasing way of external temperature. By increase in the length of the steel
beam, the lateral buckling capacity and flexural strength decrease that may result in the collapse
of structure, thus this study is carried out to analyze this behavior to improve and suggest the
modifications while designing the structures based on fire loading. After doing the analysis,
the results are explained in a detailed way.
At an elevated temperature, there is reduction in strength of steel and stiffness of material with
which beam is made, i.e., stainless steel. As stainless steel is alloy of different material, so it
provides better retention as compared to carbon steel.

A Risk Analysis Approach to Prioritizing Epidemics: Ebola Virus Disease in West Africa as a Case Study
abstract: The 2014 Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak affected several countries worldwide, including six West African countries. It was the largest Ebola epidemic in the history and the first to affect multiple countries simultaneously. Significant national and international delay in response to the epidemic resulted in 28,652 cases and 11,325 deaths. The aim of this study was to develop a risk analysis framework to prioritize rapid response for situations of high risk. Based on findings from the literature, sociodemographic features of the affected countries, and documented epidemic data, a risk scoring framework using 18 criteria was developed. The framework includes measures of socioeconomics, health systems, geographical factors, cultural beliefs, and traditional practices. The three worst affected West African countries (Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia) had the highest risk scores. The scores were much lower in developed countries that experienced Ebola compared to West African countries. A more complex risk analysis framework using 18 measures was compared with a simpler one with 10 measures, and both predicted risk equally well. A simple risk scoring system can incorporate measures of hazard and impact that may otherwise be neglected in prioritizing outbreak response. This framework can be used by public health personnel as a tool to prioritize outbreak investigation and flag outbreaks with potentially catastrophic outcomes for urgent response. Deputy Nazeer Ahmad is widely known for his novels and translated works in Urdu language and literature. His book "Rasm ul Khat"was among the first ever books of Urdu orthography published in 1877.In his book; the author has discussed Urdu letters of the alphabet, their composition in words and different shapes of an Urdu letter in different uses. Moreover, the author has also introduced new terms in Urdu orthography .the book primarily covers elementary and tertiary level activities of Urdu orthography for native and foreign learners. However some disputed notions also exist in the book about alphabets and their uses in Urdu language. The researcher has attempted a critical and research based study of the book in this paper
Publicly available software tools for decision-makers during an emergent epidemic—Systematic evaluation of utility and usability
abstract: Epidemics and emerging infectious diseases are becoming an increasing threat to global populations—challenging public health practitioners, decision makers and researchers to plan, prepare, identify and respond to outbreaks in near real-timeframes. The aim of this research is to evaluate the range of public domain and freely available software epidemic modelling tools. Twenty freely utilisable software tools underwent assessment of software usability, utility and key functionalities. Stochastic and agent based tools were found to be highly flexible, adaptable, had high utility and many features, but low usability. Deterministic tools were highly usable with average to good levels of utility
Viral and bacterial upper respiratory tract infection in hospital health care workers over time and association with symptoms
abstract: Background
Bacterial colonisation of the respiratory tract is commonly described and usually thought to be of no clinical significance. The aim of this study was to examine the presence and significance of bacteria and viruses in the upper respiratory tract of healthcare workers (HCWs), and association with respiratory symptoms.
Methods
A prospective cohort study was conducted in China and 223 HCWs were recruited from fever clinics and respiratory, paediatric, emergency/Intensive medication wards. Participants were followed over 4 weeks (7th May 2015 to 4th June 2015) for development of clinical respiratory illness (CRI). Nasopharyngeal swabs were obtained at baseline and at the end of the study. The primary endpoints were laboratory-confirmed bacterial colonisation and viral respiratory infection. Rates of the following infections in symptomatic and asymptomatic participants were compared at the start or end of the study; 1) all bacterial/viral infections, 2) bacterial infection and bacterial-viral co-infections, excluding virus only infections, and 3) only bacterial infections.
Results
Bacterial colonisation was identified in 88% (196/223) of participants at the start or end of the study. Among these participants, 66% (148/223) had only bacterial colonisation while 22% (48/223) had co-infection with a virus. Bacteria were isolated from 170 (76.2%) participants at baseline and 127 (57%) participants at the end of the study. Laboratory confirmed viral infections were identified in 53 (23.8%) participants - 35 (15.7%) at the baseline and 20 (9.0%) at the end of the study.
CRI symptoms were recorded in 12 participants (4.5%) and all had a positive bacterium isolation at baseline (n = 11) or end of the study (n = 1). Among asymptomatic participants, 187 (87%) had bacterial colonisation or bacterial/viral co-infection at baseline or end of the study. Viruses were also isolated from 5 (2.4%) asymptomatic cases. Rates of all infection outcomes were higher in symptomatic participants, however differences were not statistically significant.
Conclusion
We isolated high rates of bacteria and viruses in the upper respiratory tract of hospital HCWs, which may reflect greater exposure to respiratory infections in the hospital. Although respiratory infections are mostly symptomatic, the association between bacterial colonization and symptomatic illness is not clear. In the healthcare setting, HCWs may acquire and transmit infection to patients and other HCWs around them. We aimed to investigate the relationship between psychological variables (depression, anxiety and stress) and cognitive functions among Indian students, and to predict cognitive performance as a function of these variables.Patients and Methods: Four hundred and thirteen university students were systematically selected using purposive sampling. Widely used and validated offline questionnaires were used to assess their psychological and cognitive statuses. Correlational analyses were conducted to examine the associations between these variables. An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model was applied to predict cognitive levels based on the scores of psychological variables.Results: Correlational analyses revealed negative correlations between emotional distress and cognitive functioning. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) reduced the dimensionality of the input data, effectively capturing the variance with fewer features. The feature weight analysis indicated a balanced contribution of each mental health symptom, with particular emphasis on one of the symptoms. The ANN model demonstrated moderate predictive performance, explaining a portion of the variance in cognitive levels based on the psychological variables.Conclusion: The study confirms significant associations between emotional statuses of university students with their cognitive abilities. Specifically, we provide evidence for the first time that in Indian students, self-reported higher levels of stress, anxiety, and depression are linked to lower performance in cognitive tests. The application of PCA and feature weight analysis provided deeper insights into the structure of the predictive model. Notably, use of the ANN model provided insights into predicting these cognitive domains as a function of the emotional attributes. The Shi'a Muslims of the United Provinces of India, c 1890-1940
This dissertation examines religious, social and political change among the Shia
Muslims of the United Provinces of colonial India, c. 1890-1940. Focusing especially,
upon the towns of Lucknow and Amroha but discussing the region as a whole, it traces
the formation of a community identity among Shia Muslims, and questions how
disparate Shi'a populations were able to construct a consciousness of solidarity. The
dissertation is based on a combination of archival and printed sources in English and
Urdu.
The first chapter assesses processes of sectarian organisation and the formation of a
number of Shia institutions and societies in Lucknow in the thirty year period from
1890, including several madrasas and the All India Shi'a Conference. The second chapter
examines manifestations of religious renewal among Indian Shi'as. Forms of religious
proselytisation are discussed, particularly the contribution of the printing press and the
changing role of preaching. The development of religious conflict is outlined, through
examinations of religious debates and the reformation of Muharram rites.
A third chapter examines Shia responses to the so-called '`Aligarh movement',
considering reactions to educational reform and the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental
College at `Aligarh. A fourth chapter discusses Shia responses to the campaigns of jihad
and pan-Islamism current among many Muslims in the early twentieth century. Together,
these two chapters demonstrate the expansion and politicisation of sectarian differences,
and the attempts by some Shi'as to organise separately from wider Muslim institutions.
The final chapter assesses a series of Shi'a-Sunni conflicts in Lucknow in the 1930s. It
examines some of the contributory factors and discusses the conflicts in the light of the
processes of sectarian organisation discussed in earlier chapters. The conclusion
evaluates the implications of the thesis for our understanding of Indian Shia Muslims
and, more generally, of sectarian identities and conflicts in Indian Islam
