    This study aims to analyze the packaging design of the Titta Snack Cookies product in assessing the feasibility of the packaging design, the author only focuses on product packaging. The assessment indicators used include graphic design, design structure, and product information. Furthermore, the method used in this study uses quantitative research methods, namely methods based on the philosophy of positivism are used to examine certain populations or samples, sampling techniques are carried out randomly.Data collection techniques using methods using interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data collection technique uses a Likert scale, in assessing the highest answer, strongly agrees, a score of 5 is made and strongly disagrees is given a score of 1. The analysis is carried out as on the Likert scale. Based on the analysis of the assessment indicators carried out, namely the packaging design of the Titta Snack Cookies product is feasible and acceptable to consumers

This study seeks to elucidate the mechanism of Drimys beccariana Gibbs as an antimalarial agent by investigating its interactions with several target receptors and enzymes involved in the malaria parasite’s life cycle. Molecular docking, employing structure-based drug design principles, was utilized to simulate the binding interactions between compounds derived from Drimys beccariana Gibbs and specific target receptors/enzymes crucial for malaria parasite survival. The docking studies revealed promising interactions between the compounds derived from Drimys beccariana Gibbs and key receptors/enzymes associated with malaria, including Triose-phosphate isomerase, Plasmepsin II, lactate dehydrogenase, and enoyl-acyl-carrier protein. Compounds 5,3’-dihydroxy-7,4’-dimethoxyflavone and 5,7-dihydroxy-4’-methoxyflavone exhibited significant binding affinity and potential inhibitory effects across multiple targets, suggesting their candidacy for further investigation as antimalarial agents. 5,3’-dihydroxy-7,4’-dimethoxyflavone and 5,7-dihydroxy-4’-methoxyflavone have considerable potential inhibition of receptors/enzymes associated with malaria

    More-Than-Human Empathy in Arts-Based Material Research Processes

    This research paper is related to discussions around the human-environment relationship. It opens the discussion around the roles of humans and nature, or natural materials, as an author in an arts-based process. It attempts to ask questions about the role of the creative process in creating a more equal relationship and empathy building between these roles. Severe global environmental changes suggest that Earth may have entered a new human-dominated geological epoch called the Anthropocene.This chapter explores the role of the creative process in building a more empathic relationship between humans and the environment. Using a theoretical framework including more-than-human empathy, a materialbased approach and creative processes, the authors present two case studies. In ‘The Secret Life of a Material’, design students work with renewable gluten plastic, letting the material guide their creative process. ‘The Biggest Bread Soup in the World’ presents the artist’s immersive experience with Lake Tjörnin in Reykjavik, observing and interacting with its natural environment. These studies show how, when designers and artist–researchers engage in creative practices with nonhuman agents as coauthors, this can lead to unexpected outcomes and enhance empathic connections between humans and the natural world. This chapter highlights how an art-based research (ABR) process can deepen our understanding of and empathy towards nonhumans, encouraging collaborative practices that integrate human and natural agencies.</p

    Tapahtuman järjestäminen : Case Vekara-Varkaus-Festivaali

    Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää, miten tapahtuma järjestetään ja millaisia vaiheita siihen projektina sisältyy. Aihe valittiin, koska projektityöskentely oli opinnäytetyön tekijälle opinnoista tuttua ja siihen liitetty case oli aiheena hänelle lapsen vanhempana läheinen. Tavoitteena oli kirjallisuuden, internet-lähteiden sekä casen kautta perehtyä tapahtuman järjestämiseen ja sen olemukseen projektina. Työssä perehdyttiin casen eli Vekara-Varkaus-Festivaalin toteutukseen käyttämällä menetelmänä kvalitatiivista tutkimusta. Kyseinen menetelmä oli toimivin tapa kerätä tutkimuksessa tarvittavaa tietoa. Tutkimus toteutettiin kahden teemahaastattelun avulla. Ensimmäisessä haastattelussa saatu tieto selvensi, miten Festivaalia markkinoidaan ja toinen auttoi hahmottamaan Festivaalia kokonaisuutena. Molemmissa haastatteluissa haastateltavana oli sama henkilö, Vekara-Varkaus-Festivaalin toteutuksesta vastaava tapahtumatuottaja, Heli Sutinen. Tutkimuksessa ilmeni että Vekara-Varkaus-Festivaali on alkujaan Varkauden kulttuuritoimen henkilöstön synnyttämän ”aivomyrskyn” tulos, jossa kehitettiin vallitsevaan tarpeeseen ratkaisu. 2 - 12 vuotiaille lapsille haluttiin toimintaa, joka poikkeaisi aiemmin tunnetusta. Tutkimuksessa ilmeni myös, että tapahtuma on kaupungissa monen tahon yhteistyön huipentuma. Tutkimuksessa todettiin tapahtuman markkinoinnin olevan hyvin kattavaa. Toimintaa on vuosien varrella myös laajennettu, joten tapahtumaan voi, tosin pienimuotoisemmin, osallistua myös muissa Keski-Savon kunnissa. Opinnäytetyöprosessin aikana kerätty teoreettinen tietopohja vahvisti tekijän projektityön tuntemusta ja tapahtumia ammatikseen järjestävän henkilön haastattelut antoivat näkökulman siihen, millaista tapahtuman järjestäminen käytännössä on. AvainsanatThe aim of this thesis was to study how an event is organized and what are the different steps in event project. The topic was chosen as project management was familiar to the author through previous studies and case event was close to author's heart as she is a parent of young children herself. The aim was to learn about event management through literature, internet sources and case study. The case event for this thesis is Vekara-Varkaus-Festival, which was examined by using the method of qualitative research. Qualitative research was seen as best way to collect the information needed for this case study. The study was conducted through two thematical interviews. In the first interview it was clarified how event is marketed and the second interview gave a good overview of the festival as a whole. In both interviews, the interviewee was the same person; Festival Producer Heli Sutinen, who is responsible for planning and implementation of Vekara-Varkaus-Festival. The research revealed that Vekara-Varkaus-Festival is the result of “brainstorming” of tourism department person-nel of Varkaus city, of which the objective was to find a solution to the current need. They wanted to develop new activities to children aged 2-12. According to research, Vekara-Varkaus-Festival is also a culmination of many dif-ferent cooperative partners. The research also releaved that the Festival marketing is comprehensive and innova-tive. Activities of Vekara-Varkaus-Festival have been expanded to other municipalities in Keski-Savo although in a smaller-scale than in Varkaus. Theoretical information gathered through the thesis project stregthened the author's knowledge about project work and the interviews of professional event organizer gave a perspective on what organizing an event is in prac-tice.     Potential of using surface temperature data to benchmark Sentinel-2-based forest phenometrics in boreal Finland

The new approach improves the estimation of growing season length in boreal forests. Context: Satellite data is used to calibrate phenology models employed in land surface model components of climate models. However, realistic quantification of forest phenological transitions, such as the greenup and senescence, across large spatial scales remains challenging due to the lack of sufficient ground validation data representative of both forest tree canopy and forest understory species compositions. Aims: The aim of this study was to develop a new approach to benchmark boreal forest land surface phenology obtained from Sentinel-2 (S2) against surface temperature data. Methods: We computed S2 phenological transition dates and compared them to ground reference data on temperature from a network of meteorological stations across Finland (60–70N°). Results: Our results showed that applying standard phenometrics directly to S2 data to estimate the growing season length in boreal forests may lead to clear biases in all species groups. Conclusion: Our approach to use temperature data to calibrate boreal forest phenometrics allows flexible application across spatial scales (i.e., point or grid) and different satellite sensors. It can be combined with any vegetation land cover product to provide a link between surface temperature data and forest seasonal reflectance properties.Peer reviewe

Titta di Girolamo, brilliantly played by Toni Servillo, seems an ungrateful heir of Kees Popinga or Jean Lavigne. One could even say that Sorrentino&rsquo;s fascination with Simenon also involves the same creative method, a meticulous work on the screenplay material.     Det huvudsakliga syftet med projektet är att belysa utställningen och de strukturer som densamma innefattar. Specifikt för detta projekt är att jag har valt att titta på utställningarna på kulturcentret Astrid Lindgrens Näs. Metoden för projektet innebär att blanda empiri med teori vilket resulterat i att jag dels besökt Astrid Lindgrens Näs samt arbetat med teori som beskriver förhållandet mellan besökare och museum, författare och författarskap. Radioverkets syfte är ett ge en viss insikt i hur arbetet på museet genomförs, på ett praktiskt plan. Projektet visar att konventionerna i museet är närvarande och vad som bibehåller dem är rädslan för att besökarna skall missförstå. Jag upptäckte även att den författarroll som bland andra Michel Foucault beskriver är nödvändig för Astrid Lindgrens Näs.The main purpose with the project is to put light on exhibitions and their inner structures. For this project I have specifically chosen to look at the exhibitions at Astrid Lindgrens Näs. The method for the project is to mix empiricism with theory which resulted in me visiting Astrid Lindgrens Näs and working with theory which describes the relationship between visitors and the museum, the author and the authorship. The radio piece’s purpose is to give an hint of how the museum works, in a practical way. The project shows that the conventions in the museum is present and what maintains the conventions is the fear of the visitors misunderstanding. I also discovered that the role of the author, who among others Foucault describes, is necessary for Astrid Lindgrens Näs

Publisher Copyright: © 2023 The Author(s)Remote sensing using spectral data has been commonly applied to retrieve tree layer properties while the monitoring of forest floor remains a less studied topic. We investigated the links between light availability at forest floor, and forest floor's spectral reflectance properties (350–2500 nm) and fractional cover across boreal and temperate Europe. We hypothesized that tree canopy structure (and thus, light availability at forest floor) is linked not only to the vegetation composition of forest floor, as has been shown previously, but also to forest floor's spectral reflectance properties, and that these relationships differ between forest biomes. Data were collected in situ from a total of 67 forest stands in southern boreal, hemiboreal, temperate floodplain, and temperate mountain sites. The variation of light availability at forest floor was linked to both the forest floor's composition and spectral reflectance properties. Each study site exhibited site-specific spectral features and a different mean reflectance spectrum. Openness in tree canopies was related to an increase in the fractional cover of vascular plants and to a decrease of plant litter, consequently enhancing the forest floors’ spectral absorptance features in the red and shortwave-infrared wavelengths, as well as reflectance in the near-infrared region. Also, the variations of normalized difference index values and red edge positions as functions light availability at forest floor and forest floor's composition were different for each site. Our results suggest that incorporating biome-specific relationships between tree canopy structure and forest floor reflectance properties would improve interpretation of optical remote sensing data.
