Onchocerciasis in Sundus area: Skin and Eye manifestation
No full textBackground Onchocerciasis is known in Sudan since 1933. It, now, prevails in three foci: southern, northern and eastern focus (Sundus area). Sundus area was studied last time in mid 1980s. The actual status of the disease in Sundus area was not clear, because some villages to be hyper-endemic at that time, were abandoned and the population resettled in other areas.
Objectives This study was designed to provide the actual information of skin and eye lesions due to onchocerciasis, in Sundus area, eastern Sudan.
Methodology Two clinics were setup in the area, and all individuals coming to these clinics were included in the study. They were subjected to physical examination for dermatological changes and ophthalmic examination using slit lamp biomicroscope and direct ophthalmoscope.
Results Total number of 302 individuals was examined, of which 87 individuals (28.8%) were found to have onchocercal skin disease. The commonest type was lichenified onchodermatitis (18.5%) and chronic papular onchodermatitis (11.6%). The localized onchodermatitis (Sowda) was seen in 19 subjects. No case of blindness was recorded; however, ocular changes were seen in 43 individuals (14.2%) including corneal opacity and cataract.
Conclusion Results of this study provide support for the still existence of the disease in Sundus area.

Latar belakang penyusun skripsi ini adalah, banyaknya santri kurang ada
motivasi minat belajar dalam hal peningkatan belajar pengetahuan umum maupun
pengetahuan keagamaan dan kurang menyadari tanggung jawab sebagai pelajar.
Sedangkan pengamatan ini di lakukan di Panti Asuhan Daarus Sundus Borobudur
Magelang.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif
dan menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi sebagai metode utama dalam
mengumpulkan data dan dukumentasi. Bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk
bimbingan keagamaan dalam meningkatkan minat belajar anak asuh di panti.
Subyek penelitian ini adalah Santri di Panti Asuhan serta Pengasuh dan Pengurus
.
Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan terdapat implikasi positif dalam
menumbuhkan minat belajar dari santri dengan adanya bimbingan keagamaan
dan yang mempengaruhi minat belajar santri, akhirnya muncul rasa antusias dan
keaktifan dalam belaja
The effects of social media on the well-being of teenagers : A study from the curator's perspective

Författare: Sundus Fandi & Nevin Marangoz Syftet med denna studie är att utforska om det finns ett samband mellan tonåringars välbefinnande och deras användning av sociala medier utifrån kuratorers upplevelse.Resultatet är indelat i kategorier och uppbyggda utefter frågeställningarna: Vilken betydelse anser kuratorer från BUP och skola att tonåringars användande av sociala medier har på deras välbefinnande? Vilka risk- och skyddsfaktorer för välbefinnande upplever kuratorer att tonåringars användande av sociala medier har?För att samla in empiriskt material till studien har det utförts kvalitativa intervjuer med åtta skol- och BUP kuratorer från två medelstora kommuner i Sverige, samt tidigare forskning och litteratur. Resultatet har visat att sociala medier har till följd att det kan ge både positiv och negativ inverkan på tonåringars välbefinnande enligt samtliga kuratorer. Det finns några risk-, och skyddsfaktor som har betydelse för tonåringars välbefinnande. The results are divided into categories and structured according to the questions: What significance do curators from BUP and school believe that teenagers' use of social media has on their well-being? What risk and protective factors for well-being do curators think that teenagers' use of social media has? To collect empirical material, the study used qualitative interviews with eight school and BUP curators from two medium-sized municipalities in Sweden, as well as previous research and literature. The results have shown that social media has the effect that it can have both a positive and negativeimpact on the well-being of teenagers, according to all curators. There are some risk and protection factors that are important for teenagers' well-being.
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Variations on the Author
No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
