Language, power, and representation: developing a framework for digital best practices in autism discourse

    No full text
The complex and evolving autism narrative is shaped by diverse actors, with digital platforms and autism organizations playing a critical role in advocacy and community engagement. Yet, autistic perspectives often remain underrepresented due to structural imbalances and top-down communication approaches, underscoring the need to assess three principles: inclusivity, accessibility, and credibility of online discourse. In this study, the websites of 14 Canadian autism advocacy organizations were critically analyzed to evaluate their alignment with these principles. Informed by Habermas’s Communicative Action Theory, a qualitative approach employing critical discourse analysis was used to examine website content and design. The organizations were selected through a multi-step process that used internet traffic ranking tools to ensure representation across provinces and territories. Each website was assessed for inclusivity, accessibility, and alignment with advocacy goals, drawing on key metrics such as the presence of autistic self-advocates, accessibility features, and transparent communication practices. The findings revealed considerable variability in website quality, with noticeable gaps in accessibility and the meaningful inclusion of autistic voices. To address these gaps, the CLEAR Framework (Clarity, Logic, Evidence, Accessibility, Representation) was developed and applied as an evidence-based tool rooted in universal design and neurodiversity principles. By emphasizing straightforward language, coherent messaging, credible evidence, accessible formats, and genuine autistic representation, the framework operationalized theoretical principles into actionable criteria, offering a structured tool for evaluating and refining how organizations communicate their missions, values, and practices. Ultimately, this research provides insights for guiding autism discourse, policy, and practice while also laying the groundwork for further investigations into equitable and inclusive digital advocacy across diverse contexts

    No full text
Industries face increasing pressure to cut carbon emissions, making carbon capture technologies essential for sustainability. Yet, the fast-evolving landscape complicates selecting suitable solutions for specific industrial needs. This study explores how AI-assisted technology scouting can streamline this process for Tiroler Rohre, a company aiming to reduce its environmental impact. Using tools like Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT, the research shows AI can enhance the speed and accuracy of identifying and evaluating carbon capture options. By analyzing patents, literature, and reports, AI helps assess technologies based on feasibility, scalability, cost, and environmental impact. The study highlights three high-priority solutions: Carbon-Binding Cement Compositions, Amine-Based Post-Combustion Capture, and Pressure Swing Adsorption. While AI offers a scalable, systematic approach to innovation, human oversight is needed to address issues like hallucinations and data reliability. This research offers a practical framework for integrating AI into sustainable tech selection and supports informed decision-making for carbon reduction.Masterarbeit University Innsbruck 202

Towards a rhizomatic archive : Aneta Klassenberg

This text discusses Katarzyna Kalwat’s project Maria Klassenberg, focusing on its most important part to date, Ekstazy (Ecstasies). Klassenberg represents women artists of the 1970s who have not been admitted to the canon. The author of the essay situates the project in the context of Kalwat’s output and other relevant works of the historiographical turn. He problematizes the shape of the female genealogy built by Kalwat by means of a counterfactual archive. His methodological basis is the concept of the archive understood as discursive practices (following Foucault and Derrida). If the archive produces and, at the same time, is a product of patriarchal culture, the author considers how and to what extent Kalwat’s counterfactual archive breaks the rules of utterability. The reflection is enabled and complicated by taking into account the Maria Klassenberg Archive 1970-1980, which comprises videos and photographs produced for the project by Aneta Grzeszykowska. According to the author, the chance to go beyond the patriarchal logic of the archive lies in the processual character of the project, developing between subsequent parts, from theatre to performance

Słowa kluczowe: uczniowskie kluby sportowe, orzecznictwo, sądy (powszechne i administracyjne) Summary This article is devoted to the issues related to creation and activities of school’s clubs in Poland in the light of existing legislation and legal regulation of an administrative and general court jurisdiction. It examines the legislation and legal regulation in relating to the operation of school sports clubs, especially under the current sport law from 2010. Experience shows that a number of important decisions concerning the sphere of student sports clubs are often made in against the applicable law, or are the subject of an irrelevant administrative decisions . It is all about matters related to the proper editing of the Statute of the club, the entry in the register or the conduct of sport events - which means that after the exhaustion of the instance may be appealed to the ordinary courts. This article is a kind of an attempt to summarize the existing law, ie. the relevant law as well as constantly updated court decisions - designed to indicate the accuracy of proceedings in matters relating to the establishment and the activities of student’s clubs. The presence of anti-neutrophil extracellular trap antibody in patients with microscopic polyangiitis

    No full text
Objective Although anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) is the major autoantibody in patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), previous studies have suggested the presence of anti-neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) antibody in patients with microscopic polyangiitis (MPA), one type of AAV. In this study, we aimed to determine the prevalence and pathogenic role of anti-NET antibody (ANETA) in MPA. Methods We examined the presence or absence of ANETA in sera obtained from 19 MPA patients by indirect immunofluorescence. We compared the clinical parameters, including age, sex, myeloperoxidase (MPO)-ANCA, creatinine, C-reactive protein, MPO-DNA complexes, and vasculitis activity, in ANETA-positive and ANETA-negative MPA patients. We investigated the serum NET induction and degradation abilities of ANETA-positive and ANETA-negative MPA patients with reference to healthy controls (n=8). Furthermore, we assessed the relationship of ANETA with the effect of IgG depletion on the serum NET degradation ability. Results ANETA was present in 10 of the 19 MPA patients. There was no significant difference in the clinical parameters in ANCA-positive and ANCA-negative MPA patients. Although the NET induction ability was higher and the NET degradation ability was lower in MPA sera than those in healthy controls, these abilities were not different between ANETA-positive and ANETA-negative MPA sera. Interestingly, the NET degradation ability in some sera with ANETA was markedly increased by IgG depletion. Conclusion Some MPA patients produce ANETA and some ANETA possess an inhibitory function against the serum NET degradation ability. Although further studies are needed, ANETA is worthy of attention for understanding the pathophysiology of MPA

Title: Properties and applications of low degree surfaces Author: Aneta Mirová Department: Department of Mathematics Education Supervisor: RNDr. Zbyněk Šír, Ph.D., Mathematical Institute of Charles University Abstract: My thesis "Properties and applications of low degree surfaces"deals mainly with properties of two quadrics. We introduce so called canonical forms of two quadrics and classification of intersection curve of two quadrics. There are used index and signature sequence to obtain classification of intersection curve of two quadrics. These sequence can determine the number of component of the intersection curve, their algebraic degrees and singularities. Our work also contains many examples with pictures. One part of the thesis also presents possible application of intersection curve of two quadrics in practice. This thesis also contains an enclosed CD, with the thesis in an electronic form and the source files of all pictures in the thesis.
