International Journal of Mass Spectrometry / Infrared multiple photon dissociation spectroscopy of TaO(OH)2+ and Ta(OH)4+ cations
No full textTransition metal oxides are promising candidates for water activation, a key step in hydrogen production, as they have shown their potential as catalysts. In this study, we present tag-free infrared multiple photon dissociation (IRMPD) spectra of formally singly and doubly hydrated TaO2+ cations in the 350–1650 cm−1 range, measured using the free-electron laser for intracavity experiments (FELICE). In combination with vibrational spectra obtained by quantum chemical calculations, the experimental spectra reveal that the hydroxide species TaO(OH)2+ and Ta(OH)4+ are the dominant species in the experiment. These two structures are also the lowest lying isomers, about 130 kJ mol−1 lower than the energetically closest isomers. The calculated potential energy surfaces and transition states align with earlier studies, confirming the formation of these hydroxide complexes via sequential proton transfers upon complexation of TaO2+ with one and two water molecules, respectively. Gendered barriers to sustainable careers : a gendered organizations perspective on career sustainability
No full textThis thesis aims to further extend the research on the concept of career sustainability by examining it with a gendered lens influenced by Joan Acker’s ‘Gendered Organizations’ framework (1990). By using this approach, the recently conceptualized theoretical framework of sustainable careers (De Vos et al., 2020; Valcour, 2015) is extended to include a perspective that considers the structural inequalities women face, both within and outside of work. Through semi-structured interviews with couples from diverse occupations and care configurations, unique insights into their interpretations of career sustainability, as well as the challenges, expectations, and stereotypes they faced throughout their individual careers, were captured. Most significantly present throughout the data are the effects of motherhood on careers, as well as remaining stereotypes about leadership competencies, which in some cases even led to organizational conflicts that necessitated resolution. In addition, various individual mechanisms of coping and support are discussed, implying how career sustainability can be supported for all genders. No full textDiese Masterarbeit untersucht, wie die fehlende Anerkennung ausländischer Bildungsabschlüsse die Identität und Lebensqualität von Migrant:innen in Österreich beeinflusst. Im Theorieteil werden zentrale Identitätsbegriffe und –theorien (Erikson, Symbolischer Interaktionismus, Soziale Identität, narrative und postmoderne Ansätze) sowie der Zusammenhang von Beruf, Anerkennung und Identitätsbildung vorgestellt. Der empirische Teil basiert auf qualitativen Interviews mit Migrant:innen, die in ihrem Herkunftsland eine Ausbildung oder ein Studium abgeschlossen haben, deren Qualifikation jedoch in Österreich nicht anerkannt wurde. Ziel ist es, die Folgen dieser beruflichen Entwertung für die Betroffenen herauszuarbeiten und die von ihnen entwickelten Bewältigungsstrategien zu analysieren.This master's thesis focuses on the influence of the lack of recognition of foreign educational qualifications on the identity and quality of life of migrants in Austria. The theoretical part presents central identity concepts and theories, such as Erikson's, symbolic interactionism, social identity, narrative, and postmodern approaches, as well as the connection between profession, recognition, and identity formation. The empirical section is based on qualitative interviews with migrants who completed an apprenticeship or earned a degree in their home country but were unable to have their qualifications recognized in Austria.
