This article aims to theoretically discuss the notion of authorship, based on the analysis of the poems O Cântico da Terra, Todas vidas and Mulher da vida, from the work Poemas dos Becos de Goiás e Estórias Mais, by Cora Coralina (2012). Under the light of Pecheuxtian Discourse Analysis (DA), we will mobilize the theoretical notions of language and subject to produce a shift in the comprehension of writing. We will take writing as a process that does not start with the subject-enunciator (or author of the literary text), but which refers, above all, to its discursive constitution and the way in which it mobilizes meanings to produce the text (under the discursive effect of authorship). We will also return to the theoretical notion of production conditions to observe the meaning effects that can be highlighted in the analyzed poems and, mainly, to reflect on how authorhip is produced in Cora Coralina's writing. We wait that the analysis will contribute to the field of discursive studies, in relation to the reflection on the literary text and, especially, on the notion of authorship, as an effect of the practice of a subject who, at the same time working on the senses, is captured by theyO presente artigo tem por objetivo discutir teoricamente a noção de autoria, a partir da análise dos poemas O Cântico da Terra, Todas as vidas e Mulher da vida, da obra Poemas dos Becos de Goiás e Estórias Mais, de Cora Coralina (2012).
Reading acts of narrative appropriation: four instances of fraudulent memoir
PhDThis thesis examines acts of narrative appropriation, the telling of purportedly‘authentic’ life stories by those for whom the stories are not theirs to tell. This
misuse or subversion of genre - the discipline of historical writing and the category
of autobiography - becomes a means for cultural, social and political dissimulation,
and the analysis focuses both on the act: the event, trespass, or ‘theft’ of another’s
life story, and on the cultural meaning that this event reveals. These narrative acts
are approached theoretically through discussions of what it means to be an author, a
reader, and through the consideration of literary and social genre, category and form.
In exploring identities at particular risk of appropriation, this thesis shows how
fraudulent appropriated narratives affect our reading of the world, and in turn
influence our perception of already marginalized social groups. My primary
examples include prostitution ‘narratives’, Native North American ‘memoir,’ and
fraudulent Holocaust survivor ‘testimony,’ with each text providing decoded
evidence of ‘genre-bending’ exhibiting a social and political intent. These works
seek to be read as authentic personal narratives, as autobiography, and that is how
they have been presented to the reader. However, they are imposters – fictional tales
desiring the elevated status of historical authenticity and willing to bend the rules
and contracts of genre to achieve their end. Here the appearance of authenticity is
achieved through the use of cultural and social ‘myth,’ or perceptions of cultural
identity, and as such its fraudulent construction is first and foremost a social act,
with a social and economic motivation. As this thesis concludes, these texts are
most successful when their own political and social ideologies echo and confirm that
of the readership; when their subjects, the fraudulent ‘I’ at the center of the text is
also a performative elaboration of cultural belief

REFERENCE INTERVALS FOR ACUTE PHASE PROTEINS FOR KOALAS ( PHASCOLARCTOS CINEREUS ) AT THE SAN DIEGO ZOO
The synthesis and circulating concentrations of acute phase proteins (APPs) are regulated in response to inflammation, infection, trauma, and neoplasia in many domestic and nondomestic species. The APP response is species specific; thus, assays must be validated, and reference intervals must be determined for each species. Koalas (
) are a vulnerable species, threatened by infectious and inflammatory diseases both under human care and in the wild. The ability to diagnose, treat, and provide prognosis for common koala health problems is challenged by the paucity of sensitive diagnostic tests. Assays for C-reactive protein, serum amyloid A, and haptoglobin were validated for use in koalas. Reference intervals were established using the robust method recommended by the American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology based on serum samples from 26 healthy koalas at the San Diego Zoo. The reference intervals are as follows: C-reactive protein, 3.2-24.1 mg/L; serum amyloid A, 0.10-0.45 mg/L; haptoglobin, 0.10-0.64 mg/ml
Abstract : The Brazilian production of grape juice have been incrasing every year, being Rio Grande do Sul the main state producer of grapes and derivations, the production passed through from 126,9 millions of liters in 2008 to 220 millions of liters in 2012.This number is relevant because the world production of grape juices is estimated around 11 and 12 millions of hectoliters. Other Brazilian regions have invested in the production of grape juice, like Sub-middle region of São Francisco?s Valley (SFV), located at the Norteast of Brazil.Recently, factories have invested in the production of grape juices in comercial large-scale at the region. In this context, this study aimed to characterize the juices of the new Brazilian grape varieties planted in SFV and evaluate different juice extraction conditions in the industrial process used by companies in this region, compared to classic quality parameters, phenolic compounds, organic acids and antioxidant activity. The process used by the companies presented a high juice without the need for pressing grapes. The maceration treatments have any significant influence on process parameters such as yield and clarity of juice where the temperature of 60°C with the addition of the enzyme preparation based pectinase resulted in a 6.0% increase in yield and reduction of turbidity. The use of the enzyme decreased amounts of catechins and increased procyanidins of B1 and B2. Increasing the temperature of maceration of 50 to 60°C was the main cause of the extraction of phenolic compounds from the skins of the grapes, especially the anthocyanins. The combination of 60° C with the use of the enzyme preparation in a dose of 3.0 mL per 100 kg of grapes resulted in better extraction of phenolic compounds evaluated, as well as increased the concentration of malic and lactic acids, and decreased the concentration of acetic acid in the juices. With a base on the results obtained could be observed significant concentration of phenolic compounds associated with the antioxidant activity in vitro on the studied juices. The use of blends between varieties "BRS Violeta" and "BRS Cora", with the variety "Isabel Precoce", increased significantly the intensity of color as well as the total phenolic concentration and total anthocyanins in the finished juice, especially in relation to phenolic catechin, epicatechin gallate, gallic acid, caffeic acid, rutin, delphinidin end cyanidins, compounds that were associated with high antioxidant activity found on juices. That makes of extreme importance the use of these blends in order to elaborate juices with great concentrations of phenolics associated to biological activities which are beneficial to consumers health. The variety "BRS Cora" not only contributed with the increase of color and phenolic compounds in juice "Isabel Precoce", but also was responsible for the increment in the concentration of organic acids as tartaric and malic. The variety "BRS Violeta" was responsible for the greatest increment of phenolics in the juice "Isabel Precoce", as well the variety "BRS Magna" showed a good potential to be used in commercial blends, since it presented a little less phenolic concentration compared to the juice "BRS Violeta".The juices elaborated showed a representative concentration of trans-resveratrol, remarking the juice "BRS Violeta" with values similar to red wines. In a general point of view, the antioxidant activity of juices were high, and were associated, essentially, to the phenolics: catechin, procyanidin B2, caffeic acid, delphinidin 3-glucoside and cyanidins mono and diglucoside. Due to this, it can be concluded that is possible to elaborate grape juices with new Brazilian varieties planted in the Northeast region of Brazil, which have good quantity of bioactive compounds and own original characteristics from the tropical viticulture practiced in the Sub-middle São Francisco's Valley, that differs with any other traditional regions of the world

Determinanty nieliberalnego modelu procesu karnego. Zarys problematyki
The aim of this article is to present the key areas identifying the shift away from a liberal criminal trial model towards an illiberal one. Among the key determinants, the author includes structural issues related to the weakening and social delegitimization of the judiciary. In the criminal-procedural aspect, he points to the strengthening of the investigative powers of the pre-trial authorities and the weakening of procedural guarantees, particularly the limitation of judicial review. The theoretical field of research refers to the concepts of proactive and reactive states as perceived by Mirjan Damaška, as well as the model of due process and crime control proposed by Herbert L. Packer. The author concludes that the characteristic feature of the illiberal (authoritarian) model is limiting the right of access to defense counsel and access to the case file, along with the de facto abandonment of consensual means of resolution, which significantly weakens the standard of a fair criminal trial. Do zasadniczych determinantów autor zalicza kwestie ustrojowe związane z osłabieniem i delegitymizacją społeczną władzy sądowniczej.

Comparison of numerical analyses of a composite wing component subjected to 4-point bending
In this paper, a comparison between six finite element models of a representative wing structural component performed in the context of Optimised Design for Inspection (ODIN) project of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) is presented. Six partners from six different countries involved in the project received the drawing of the structure, the material properties, the loading and boundary conditions. Each partner, based on their background and experience in numerical analyses, developed a finite element model with different levels of details and accuracy and performed a blind prediction of the structural behaviour of the wing component. The numerical results are presented and compared with the experimental test data conducted at Cardiff University.Aerospace Structures & Computational Mechanic
