My father’s blessing
Terens Pejn)."This excellent book describes the events and human urges that transformed Ivan Singer from 1941 until the end of the war so that after completing his training in the Soviet Union, he became a successful military pilot from a Yugoslav student of Jewish origin. Finding himself in a world abruptly stripped of the norms upon which civilization is based, Singer places his personal experience in the context of the larger picture of the conflict in Southeast Europe. "Our destiny is determined. We cannot change it", these are the words that Singer's father, devoted to humanist principles, tells his son just before going to a German camp. Although Singer does not accept his father's attitude, his father's blessing, the hope for a better world will help him survive the bloodiest war in history" (Prof. Terence Payne)

Yuriy Hryvniak as a researcher of the biography of Ivan Puluj

Ivan Žuvela Šabo and His Etnographic Record from 1892
This text reveals the identity of the hitherto unknown author one of the oldest known ethnographic record from the island of Korčula. The manuscript titled “Narodne pjesme junačke i žetelačke” (Folk Songs of Heroes and Harvesters) dates back to 1892 and is preserved in the Archive of the Ethnology Division at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Zagreb. Although the author of the manuscript is signed as “Ivan Žuvela, legal scholar,” his precise identification has remained elusive, with incorrect assumptions and even speculation about a possible pseudonym. Through research of available sources and newspaper records, it has now been conclusively determined that the author is indeed Ivan Žuvela from Vela Luka, a member of the Šabo family, and a law student who passed away at the age of 23, just a year after creating this manuscript. In addition to introducing the author, this text provides a detailed exploration of the manuscript and its exceptional significance for studying the everyday life of the past, particularly the harvesting customs on the western part of the island of Korčula

The chapter summarizes and debates Emeritus prof. Ivan Snehota's studies since his Ph.D thesis. Orpheus in the reception of Ivan Franco
The oeuvre of Trakai poet Orpheus and his semi mythic figure was often analysed and used in the works of Ukrainian writers. Ivan Franko often turned to the heritage of ancient poets. He translated and analys ed texts and paid a lot of attention to the figure of Orpheus. Contemporaries associated Ivan Franko with a Trakai poet. Lesya Ukrainka dedicated her work “Orpheus miracle” to Ivan Franko, and Mikolay Voronii compared Ivan Franko with Orpheus in his poem
Ivan Franko”. In the work "Something about Orpheus and the works attributed to him”, Ivan Franko analyzed the figure of Orpheus and references about poet in myths, works. Ivan Franco also used the image of Orpheus his own poetic
creativity. Collection Fad ed leaves depicts a singer in love. The image of Orpheus as a lost singer and unfortunate lover is traced in his poetry.
Towards an Augmented Reality Game for Learning about Ivan Vazov's Literary Works
This paper presents a concept for a serious game based on an augmented reality representation of a mural artwork located in the National Library
“Ivan Vazov” in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The mural features the renowned Bulgarian author Ivan Vazov in the center, surrounded by characters from his literary works.
By using a head-mounted display in front of the mural, the players would see movement of the characters and will be able to interact with them in a gamified augmented reality environment. The serious game proposed in this paper offers a solution to the engagement of players with literature and textual heritage within a broader cultural context
Elementary topical functions on b-complete semimodules over b-complete idempotent semifields
AbstractWe extend some results of Rubinov and Singer [13] and Rubinov et al. [14] on topical functions on Rn and downward subsets of Rn to the case where Rn is replaced by a b-complete semimodule X over a b-complete idempotent semifield K. To this end, using residuation, we introduce “elementary” topical functions on X and we show that they are the “building blocks” of the set of all topical functions on X
