    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    Pada awalnya Desa Nusa Tunggal adalah desa transmigran asal Jawa, terutama dari Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dan Jawa Tengah. Ketika dibuka pertama tahun 1970-an, para petani bekerja sebagai petani padi tadah hujan. Hal ini dilakukan karena sampai sekarang daerah ini tidak ada saluran irigasi, sehingga tanaman padi yang cocok adalah padi gaga (tanaman padi tahan kering). Mengingat padi gaga hanya dapat ditanam satu tahun satu kali, yaitu pada musim hujan, maka lambat laun petani banyak yang beralih menanam karet. Beralihnya petani menanam karet dimulai tahun 1980-an. Mereka yang menanam karet tingkat ekonominya nampak lebih baik dibandingkan dengan petani yang masihbertahan menaman padi kering (gaga). Sampai tahun 1990-an petani karet terus bertambah seiring dengan berkurangnya petani padi tadah hujan. Pergeseran penanaman padi tadah hujan ke tanaman karet terus berlangsung semakin intensif, sehingga sampai tahun 2012 seluruh petani di Desa Nusa Tunggal sudah bertanam karet, sehingga tidak ada lagi yang menanam padi tadah hujan. Adapun alasan mereka beralih menjadi petani karet, secara ekonomi lebih menguntungkan dibandingkan menanampadi tadah hujan yang hanya ditanam setahun sekali. Jika padi gaga hanya panen sekali dalam setahun, maka tanaman karet dapat menghasilkan getah yang siap jual dalam waktu dua minggu sekali, sehingga tiap dua minggu sekali mereka dapat uang hasil penyadapan karet. Selanjutnya hasil penelitian ini di samping dapat memperkaya penulisan sejarah lokal, juga dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber data dan bahan acuan bagi para peneliti berikutnya. Selanjutnya hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberi masukan bagi Pemerintah dalam mengambil kebijakan di bidang pendidikan Islam di daerah-daerah sesuai dengan keinginan masyarakat setempat

    URGENSI TRI PUSAT PENDIDIKAN DALAM PERSPEKTIF ISLAM

    Tricenter of education is an educational theory put forward by Ki Hajar Dewantoro, the founder of Taman Siswa, who is recognized as the Father of National Education. The education center referred to here is that the educational environment includes education in the family environment, education in the school environment, and education in the community in an Islamic perspective. These three environments greatly affect the growth and development of children. This research is library research because the object of the study is literature in the form of the concept of Tri Center of Education. Therefore, the data needed are textual data, namely texts about the Three Education Centers in books, journals and others with interpretations of the Koran, hadith and opinions of scholars. The approach methods in this research are the description method, content analysis method and hermeneutic method. The data and facts show that the generation of the companions of the Prophet sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam is the best generation in the history of mankind, because they live in an Islamic family education environment, an Islamic school education environment, and an Islamic community environment as well. namely living with the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam who became a real model for their lives. Some programs for students to be tough and have the resilience to face the slander of the world and religion in the digital era are living with the Koran and sticking to it, the need for value education or immune education for students, the need to present examples to students. Tripusat pendidikan adalah  teori pendidikan yang dikemukakan oleh Ki Hajar Dewantoro pendiri taman siswa yang diakui sebagai Bapak Pendidikan Nasional. Tripusat pendidikan yang dimaksud disini adalah lingkungan pendidikan itu meliputi pendidikan di lingkungan keluarga, pendidikan di lingkungan sekolah, dan pendidikan di lingkungan masyarakat dalam perspektif Islam tiga lingkungan ini sangat mempengaruhi masa pertumbuhan dan pengembangan anak. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pustaka karena yang dijadikan objek kajian adalah karya literatur berupa konsep Tri Pusat Pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, data-data yang diperlukan ialah datadata tekstual, yaitu teks-teks  tentang Tri Pusat Pendidikan yang ada dalam kitab buku-buku, jurnal dan lainnya dengan interpretasi  al-Quran, hadis dan pendapat ulama ulama. Adapun metode pendekatan pada penelitian ini adalah Metode Diskripsi, Metode Analisis Isi dan Metode Hermeneutik. Data dan fakta menunjukkan bahwa generasi sahabat Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi Wasallam adalah generasi terbaik dalam perjalanan hidup sejarah umat manusia, karena mereka hidup dalam lingkungan pendidikan keluarga yang Islami, lingkungan pendidikan sekolah yang Islami, dan lingkungan masyarakat yang Islami pula. yaitu hidup bersama Rasulullah Shallallahu alaihi wasallam yang menjadi model sesungguhnya bagi kehidupan mereka. Beberapa program bagi peserta didik agar tangguh dan memiliki daya kenyal menghadapi fitnah dunia dan agama di era digital adalah hidup bersama Alquran dan berpegang teguh kepadanya, perlunya pendidikan nilai atau pendidikan imun bagi peserta didik, perlunya menghadirkan keteladanan kepada peserta didik.

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
