Get PDFThis study aims to determine whether the mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students who use a contextual approach with the cooperative model of think pair share type is better than the scientific approach. The subject of the study was the eighth grade junior high school students in Cimahi, while the sample was class VIII B as an experimental class that got learning using a contextual approach with a cooperative model of think pair share type and class VIII C became a control class that got learning using a scientific approach. The instrument in the study was a matter of mathematical problem solving ability consisting of five item description items. Based on the results of all stages of the study, it can be concluded that the mathematical problem solving ability of students whose learning uses a contextual approach through a cooperative model of think pair share type is better than that of learning using a scientific approach.Â

The purpose of this research were to know the difference of achievement and improvement in mathematical critical thinking ability of students that given problem posing approach with students that given conventional learning. The method used in this research is the experimental method, with the design of pretest-posttest control group. The population is all students of vocational school in Cimahi, while the sample is chosen selectively from two classes of one of vocational schools. Then from these two classes, it is determined randomly as to which class is assigned into experimental or control class. In analyzing the data, the test of two mean differences is done using non-parametric statistical test Mann Whitney and the t test. The results show that (1) mathematical critical thinking of the students who received problem posing is better than that of those who received conventional learning; (2) Improvement in mathematical critical thinking ability of the students who received problem posing approach is better than that of those received conventional learning

Thai democracy is only ceremonial because it does not open space for freedom of opinion, because the existing tradition is not just a social attribute that can be easily accepted, but the existence of state convictions in Thailand has hardened and become a political identity that fills all space, both political space and social space society. The theory that the author uses is the theory of Mana Sikana (2005), Ghazali, et al (1980), Ahmad Fauzi (1999). The author uses a descriptive method to conduct this research. The technique used is the Hermaneutik technique. This type of research is library research. The results of the study: (1) the psychological aspects are divided into character thoughts, tastes, and emotional stress (2) the social aspects are divided into socialization processes, social tasks, and social class. A character's mind has emotions, actions, and reactions. Taste is found in environmental factors, nature and is influenced by age. Emotional stress finds frustration involving feelings of disappointment, sadness, sadness, and suffering in each female character. Social aspects, especially the socialization process based on formal informal education. Social duties based on the role of the wife and society. Hal ini dinilai sangat penting guna membantu guru dalam menyusun perangkat ajar yang akan digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Target khusus yang ingin dicapai yaitu memberikan wawasan pengetahuan mengenai cara penyusunan perangkat ajar berbasis higher order thinking skills. Secara umum metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah moda daring, diskusi, dan tanya jawab dan latihan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan melalui langkah antara lain, Menetapkan target peserta kegiatan yaitu guru-guru SD. Melakukan tahap perizinan kepada pihak yang terkait. Melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan dengan melakukan zoom meeting. Mendokumentasikan seluruh kegiatan pelatihan dan mengumpulkan data untuk penyusunan laporan, Melakukan evaluasi kegiatan pelatihan dan menyelesaikan laporan akhir kegiatan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu guru-guru merespon positif dan antusias dalam menyusun perangkat ajar.

The availability of VBA, math and image functions in Microsoft Excel help teachers to design the creation of media related to mathematics learning, especially to develop the ability of junior high school students who have difficulty to connect mathematics lessons with basic mathematics knowledge requirements. By using VBA for Excel, the ability of junior high school students to improve in the usual way significantly with a t-test with 0.006 0.05. Furthermore, there is an association between the students’ self-confidence and their mathematical comprehension skills with a contingency coefficient of 0.525 including a moderate association

Get PDFThis study aims to analyze the difficulties of SMPN 02 Cililin students in solving algebra word problems in terms of students' ability levels. By understanding students' ability levels, educators can identify difficulties faced by students and develop appropriate teaching strategies to increase their understanding. This study uses a qualitative and descriptive research strategy by analyzing the difficulties experienced by students using the instruments provided. The research subjects taken were class VII students of SMPN 02 Cililin with a total of 20 students. The results of the analysis show variations in the level of students' ability to solve algebra story problems. Students with high abilities are able to correctly identify relevant variables, model mathematical relationships correctly, and reach accurate solutions. Students with moderate abilities can usually understand basic algebraic concepts, but they still need to improve their mathematical modeling and problem solving skills. Students with low abilities often have difficulty understanding basic algebraic concepts and applying them in the context of word problems

Get PDFThis study is a descriptive qualitative research for the purpose of analyzing errors and explaining the types of mistakes made by students when solving problems based on the text format provided. This research was conducted at a tertiary institution in Cianjur, with 10 research subjects in class VII B in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year at SMP Negeri 5 Pasirkuda. The data collection method in this study was in the form of a written test. Based on the data presentation, the student error rate is 1) conceptual error, namely 66.9% with a "high" error percentage; 2) 10% procedural errors with a percentage of "very low" error categories; 3) 22.1% technical failure with a "low" failure percentage rate. Therefore, we can conclude that the conceptual understanding of student set material is relatively low. Therefore, the teacher should pay attention to students' conceptual understanding of the overall concept of the material and show students the important parts of the whole concept
