Çağdaş yazarlarımız ve onların sanatları hakkında araştırma ve inceleme yapılmasının önemini de düşünerek, tahlil etmeye çalıştığımız hikayeler doğrultusunda ayrıca Buket Uzuner'in hikayeciliğine, dolayısıyla sanatına da değinmeye özen gösterdik. Post-modernizm ve neo-sürrealizmin temsilcilerinden biri olarak kabul edilen Buket Uzuner'in eserlerinde, özellikle hikayelerindeki vaka tertibi, hayal gücünün orijinalliği dikkat çekmektedir. Hiç şüphesiz ki edebi eserler, onu meydana getiren yazarların, hayatı, sosyal çevresi, temsil ettikleri dönemin tarihi ve kültürüyle de yalandan ilgilidir. In our thesis that we've prepared, we tried to examine by analysing the five story books of Buket Uzuner (Benim Adım Mayıs, Ayın En Çıplak Günü, Güneş Yiyen Çingene, Karayel Hüznü, Şairler Şehri). By thinking the importance of studying and searching about our contemporary writers and their arts, we made a special effort to mention the story-writing, that is art, of Buket Uzuner in the direction of stories that we tried to analyse. In the works of Buket Uzuner who is accepted as one of the representatives of Post-modernism and Neo-Surrealism, especially the order of events in her stories and the originality of her power of imagination call attention. Of course the literary works are closely related with the life, social environment of the writers who created them and with the history and culture of the period they represent That is why, the stories and story-writing of Buket Uzuner is important in the regard of reflecting today. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Postmodern concept of an individual in the oeuvre of Turkish authoress Buket Uzuner

This study presents viewpoints of both domestic and Foreign, Turkish literary historians and critics on the problem of defying postmodernism as a literary school. There has been expressed an opinion that methodology of studying Russian postmodernism in the researches of domestic authors allows investigating literary postmodernism in Turkey. The article also demonstrates viewpoints of Turkish literary historians on the problem of postmodernism in Turkish literary. One of the investigated issues becomes building postmodern concept of an individual in the oeuvre of Turkish authoress Buket Uzuner, one of the prominent representatives of Turkish literary postmodernism. For the purposes of comprehensive investigation of the problem mentioned a wide range of study methods has been applied, including scientific and theoretic method of analyzing literary sources, descriptive method, method of compositional analysis of literary text. In the course of the investigation, we have found out that the author, pursuing an aim of building adequate postmodern concept of an individual, often touches upon the following topics that are related to spiritual searches: world-view crisis, creative work, childhood, etc. Peculiarities of prose and artistic time continuum as well as some linguistic peculiarities of Buket Uzuner's works have been studied and analyzed. Analysis of various angles of Buket Uzuner's creative works allows composing approximate world building of the authoress. She often touches upon existential topics (like creative works, love, etc.) and the readers are invited to mull those over. Buket Uzuner's style is characterized by fragmentary and eclectic nature and dynamic narration. Performed study allows us to make an important conclusion that concept of an individual in the oeuvre of Buket Uzuner, associated with sincerity, loneliness (which looks more like a retreat) reflects social changes that are taking place and touches on meditative rethinking of the world and one's place in this world

A Comparative Study of Language Models for Book and Author Recognition
No full textLinguistic information can help improve evaluation of similarity between documents; however, the kind of linguistic information to be used depends on the task. In this paper, we show that distributions of syntactic structures capture the way works are written and accurately identify individual books more than 76% of the time. In comparison, baseline features, e.g., tfidf-weighted keywords, function words, etc., give an accuracy of at most 66%. However, testing the same features on authorship attribution shows that distributions of syntactic structures are less successful than function words on this task; syntactic structures vary even among the works of the same author whereas features such as function words are distributed more similarly among the works of an author and can more effectively capture authorship
Efficient and Stable Inverted Wide‐Bandgap Perovskite Solar Cells and Modules Enabled by Hybrid Evaporation‐Solution Method
No full textWide-bandgap perovskite solar cells (WBG-PSCs), when partnered with Si bottom cells in tandem configuration, can provide efficiencies up to 44%; yet, the development of stable, efficient, and scalable WBG-PSCs is required. Here, the utility of the hybrid evaporation-solution method (HESM) is investigated to meet these demanding requirements via its unique advantages including ease of control and reproducibility. A PbI2/CsBr layer is co-evaporated followed by coating of organic-halide solutions in a green solvent. Bandgaps between 1.55–1.67 eV are systematically screened by varying CsBr and MABr content. Champion efficiencies of 21.06% and 20.35% in cells and 19.83% and 18.73% in mini-modules (16 cm2) for perovskites with 1.64 and 1.67 eV bandgaps are achieved, respectively. Additionally, 18.51%-efficient semi-transparent WBG-PSCs are implemented in 4T perovskite/bifacial silicon configuration, reaching a projected power output of 30.61 mW cm−2 based on PD IEC TS 60904-1-2 (BiFi200) protocol. Despite similar bandgaps achieved by incorporating Br via MABr solution and/or CsBr evaporation, PSCs having a perovskite layer without MABr addition show significantly higher thermal and moisture stability. This study proves scalable, high-performance, and stable WBG-PSCs are enabled by HESM, hence their use in tandems and in emerging applications such as indoor photovoltaics are now within reach.</p
An (Distinctive) Example of Strengtening a Validity: Self-evaluation of the School Based Action Research

As action researchers, the researchers are insiders of their research efforts. On the other hand, self-evaluation of one's own research effort would strengthen the research process and provide strong basis for the future research efforts. The author has focused on the self-evaluation of the action research directed by herself. Utilizing the evaluation schema offered by Malone (2014) she aims to prompt enhanced understanding about the evaluation of action research project. In conclusion, it could be approved that the schema offered by Malone is comprehensive and valid tool for evaluation action research projects. In the light of this schema the analyzed action research project is considered as scientifically based research. The author recommends the other researchers utilize this schema to evaluate their action research project
KUMLARDA RÖLATİF SIKILIK İLE PASİF BİRİM DEFORMASYON ARASINDAKI İLİŞKİNİN MODEL DENEYLERLE ARAŞTIRILMASI
No full textIn this study, passive states developed by a horizontal movement of a rigid model retaining wall in sand were experimentally investigated. The amounts of the necessary lateral movements in order to create passive cases and the first phase of the failure surfaces were determined by using stereo-photogrammetric technique. The inner dimensions of the experiment tank were 9.8 cm (width), 70 cm (length) and 40 cm (height). The sides of the tank were made of 8 mm thick glass plates. The relative density of the poorly graded sand deposited in the tank was varying from loose to dense. The model retaining wall was moved against the soil step by step with a hand operated mechanism. In each steps, photographs were taken with a camera. The photographs were evaluated in stereoscope and thus occurring time of passive case was determined. Consequently, some criteria were given for creating passive state. Experimental results were compared with the previous works.Bu çalışmada, kum zeminlerde rijit model bir dayanma duvarının rijit yatay hareketi ile pasif durum oluşturulması araştırılmıştır. Pasif durumun oluşması için gerekli yatay hareket miktarı ve pasif Rankine durumun oluştuğu andaki kayma yüzeyi stereo-fotogrametri tekniği ile belirlenmiştir. Deney tankının genişliği 9.8 cm, yüksekliği 40 cm ve uzunluğu ise 70 cm’dir. Tankın yan duvarları 8 mm kalınlıklı cam plakadan yapılmıştır. Tanka yerleştirilen kumun rölatif sıkılığı çok gevşekten çok sıkıya kadar değiştirilmiştir. Model dayanma duvarı, zemine doğru adım adım hareket ettirilmiş her adımda stereoskop ile değerlendirmek için fotoğraflar çekilmiştir. Her rölatif sıkılık için çekilen fotoğraflar değerlendirilerek pasif durumun oluşması için gerekli yatay hareket miktarları ve kayma yüzeylerinin şekilleri belirlenmiştir. Deney sonuçları önceki çalışmalarla karşılaştırılmış ve pasif durum için bazı kriterler verilmiştir
Investigation of Buket Uzuner's stories and novels in the context of ecocritism
No full textModern Türk edebiyatı yazarlarından Buket Uzuner, yazın hayatına hikâye ile başlar, ardından otobiyografi, gezi yazısı, deneme ve roman türünde eser vermeye devam eder. Özellikle roman ve öykülerde işlenen konuların yanı sıra oluşturduğu karakterlerin iç dünyaları ile dışarıda yaşanan gerçek hayat örtüşmektedir. Kurgulanan bu konular gerçek mekân ve olaylardan yola çıkılarak okura sunulur. Anlatılardaki tematik örgü göz önüne alındığında modernleşen yaşamla birlikte değişen insan profilinin çevre ile olan ilişkisi sıkça işlenir. Ayrıca kadının çağdaş hayattaki yeri ve doğayla olan tarihsel süreci öne çıkan konulardandır. Bu anlamda yazar, değindiği meseleler başta olmak üzere, modern ve postmodern anlatım teknikleriyle birlikte dil ve üslubundaki farklılığıyla özgün bir yere sahiptir. Geçmişten günümüze değişen ve dönüşen yaşam biçimiyle birlikte insanlığın doğa ile olan münasebeti daha hızlı bir biçimde yıkıcı bir boyuta ulaşmıştır. Çevre duyarlılığı ve bilinci ile dikkat çeken Buket Uzuner, tüm dünyayı ilgilendiren sanayileşme, küresel ısınma, nüfus artışı, göç, kentleşme, iklim değişikliği ve savaşın her çeşidi gibi insanın ve doğanın sonunu getirebilecek konuları Türkiye'yi merkeze alarak anlatılarını oluşturur. Yazar öte yandan da tüm bu olumsuz örneklere rağmen Şaman kültürünün doğaya olan saygısını ve barışık yaşam biçimini hatırlatır. Bunun yanı sıra doğaya hükmetmeye çalışan ataerkil kültürü ve zihniyeti eleştirirken doğayla aynı karakteristik özellikleri gösteren kadını da yüceltir. Bu tezde, yazarın öykü ve romanlarında insan ve doğa ilişkisi; yalnızca edebi metin değil sanat eserlerinin tümünde yer alan çevre bilincine dayalı bakışı temel alan ekoeleştiri ve ekofeminizm kuramlarından hareketle incelenmeye çalışılır. In addition to the topics covered in the novels and stories, the inner worlds of the characters she created and the real life outside coincide. These topics are presented to the reader based on real spaces and events. When the thematic lattice in the narratives is taken into consideration, the relationship between the changing human profile and the environment with modernized life is frequently studied. In addition, the place of women in contemporary life and the historical process with nature are among the outstanding topics. In this sense, the author has a unique place with her differences in language and style, especially with the issues she touched on, along with modern and postmodern narrative techniques. With the life style that has changed and transformed from past to present, the relationship of humanity with nature has reached a destructive dimension more rapidly. Environmental awareness and she with a remarkable awareness of the whole world concerning industrialization, global warming, population growth, migration, urbanization, climate change and human as any kind of war and the issues that may bring the end of nature creates narratives taking Turkey to the center. On the other hand, despite all these negative examples, the author recalls the respect of the shaman culture to nature and the peaceful way of life. In addition, it criticizes the patriarchal culture and mentality that tries to dominate nature and exalts women who exhibit the same characteristics as nature. In this thesis, the relationship between man and nature in his stories and novels; eco-criticism and ecofeminism theories based on environmental consciousness based not only on literary text but also on all works of art. No full textSosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, Türk Edebiyatı Bölümü, Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Ana Bilim Dalı, Yeni Türk Edebiyatı Bilim DalıBuket Uzuner, öykü ile başlayan edebi hayatını, gezi yazıları, otobiyografi, deneme ve ses getiren romanlarla genişleten özgün yazarlardan biridir. Eserlerinde ele aldığı karakterlerin toplum sorunlarıyla bütünleşen içsel yolculuklarını yansıtışında kullandığı kurgusal nitelikler, klasik edebiyat tarzının dışında olmuştur. Böylece eserlerinin modern ve postmodern kurgusuyla, karakterlerin kimlik sorunlarını ve bunalımlarını yansıtışındaki özgünlüğü, yazarı çağdaşlarından ayıran en ayırt edici özellik olarak dikkat çekmiştir.Bu tezde, Buket Uzuner'in hikâye ve romanlarındaki kişiler incelenmiş, romanlardaki kahramanların ortak özellikleri saptanarak, karakterlerin kurgulanışı ve deneyimlerin yansıtılma yöntemi sorgulanmıştır. Tezin birinci bölümünde, tüm romanların ve hikâyelerin özetine yer verilerek, bu karakterlerin eserlerdeki işlevlerine ve rollerine değinilmeye çalışılmıştır. İkinci kısımda, eserlerdeki ortak özelliklerine göre gruplandırılan karakterler, bu gruplandırma dahilinde detaylı olarak irdelenmiştir. Böylece tüm romanlardaki ve hikâyelerdeki kahramanlar ortak noktalarına göre sınıflandırılmıştır..Karakterlerini oluştururken, toplumsal değerleri göz önünde bulunduran yazar, toplum içerisinden seçtiği kahramanlarının kimlik problemlerini ön planda tutmuştur. Yarattığı karakterlerini, toplumsal dokuyu oluşturan bireylerden seçmeye dikkat eden yazar Buket Uzuner, bireyin toplum içerisindeki varolma sorununa da bir ayna tutmuş, 1980 sonrası Türkiyesinde yaşayan kuşağın iç hesaplaşmalarına ve ayakta kalma mücadelelerine de karakter tahlilleriyle yer vermiştir. Eserlerdeki kahramanların niteliklerinin belirlenmesinde önemli yer tutan bu tahliller, aynı zamanda bireyin toplumsal dönüşüm içerisindeki rolünü de belirlemiştir. Böylece yazarın kullandığı teknikler ile karakterlerin sunuluşları arasındaki ilişki kendiliğinden ortaya çıkmıştır.Buket Uzuner, eserlerinde toplumun politik dönüşümlerine yer verirken de bireyi esas almış, çoğunlukla aydınlar arasından seçtiği karakterlerinin kimliklerine yönelik sorgulayışını, eser kahramanlarının ruh tahlilleriyle yansıtmayı tercih emiştir. Bu sebeple önem kazanan karakter tahlilleri, hikâye ve romanlarda yer alan farklı anlatı türlerinin temaya uygun seçimini de ön plana çıkarmıştır. Böylece yazar farklı birikim ve sınıflardan gelen zengin bir kişi kadrosu ile eserlerinde hem dekoratif hem de asli unsur olarak kullandığı kişilerini oluştururken, Türk Romanı Tarihi için ilginç tipler ve karakterler yaratmıştır. Tezin ikinci bölümünde bu özellikleriyle gruplandırılan tipler, kişiler ve karakterler farklı bakış açılarıyla ele alınmıştır.Buket Uzuner is one of the genuine authors who has broadened her literary life beginning with stories to travel memories, autobiography, essay, and outstanding novels. The fictional features she uses for reflecting her characters? inner journeys involving involving their social problems she considers in her works is other than the traditional literature style. Thus the modern and postmodern content of her works and the originality of her reflecting the conflicts and personal problems of the characters has been a great attribute to separate her from her contemporary.Considering the social values, while creating them, the author has mainly dealt with the personal problems of her characters which she has picked up from her own society. In this thesis the characters in Buket Uzuner?s novels and stories are studied on, together with determining on the common features of the hero(in)s, the fictioning of the characters and the mirroring style of the experiences are questioned. In the fist part of the thesis inheriting the summaries of all the novels and the stories it is attempted to refer to the roles and the functions of these characters in the works. In the second part, the characters grouped as to their common features are researched in depth in this grouping basis. Therefore all the hero(in)s in all of the stories and novels are categorized according to their common aspects.The author Buket Uzuner who is careful at choosing her characters among the individuals forming the social structure, has also mirrored the existence conflicts of the individuals in the society and has also included in the inner considerations and the struggles of being secure of the generation living in Turkey after 1980s through her character analysis. These analyses which has a significant role on determining on the characteristics of the hero(in)s have also determined the roles of the individuals in the social change. Hence the relationship between the techniques the author uses and the presenting of the characters has been appeared spontaneously.While embodying the political alteration of the society, Uzuner has had the individual as a basis and has chosen to reflect her questionings of the personalities her characters, mostly chosen from the literate man , through the psychological analysis of them. Thus gaining a great importance, the characteristic analysis has marked the appropriate choice of the theme in the different narration types appeared in novels and stories. So the author is observed to create different hero(in)s and characters for the Turkish Novel History, while creating her own individuals she used in her works both as decorative and actual components with a filthy character staff coming from different classes and educational status. In the second part of the thesis, the characters, hero(in)s and the personalities grouped with these features are considered from the different point of views
