No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Kao primer za ovu tvrdnju navodi tumačenja crkvenog oca Hijeronima koja su se odomaćila u nejevrejskom svetu. Dr Schweiger nas ukratko podseća na sadržaj priče o Joni prema kojoj mu Bog zapoveda da ide u Ninivu i objavi narodu da će biti kažnjen zbog velikih grehova i pokvarenosti. Jona se nije odazvao pozivu i pobegao je na jednu lađu. Kad je lađa isplovila podigla se žestoka bura i Jona je priznao mornarima da je buru podigao Bog zbog toga što nije poštovao njegovu zapovest. Mornari ga bacaju u more, kit proguta Jonu koji u njegovoj utrobi provodi tri dana i tri noći. Pobožno se molio pa je gospod naredio da ga kit izbaci na kopno. Bog mu ponovo šalje poziv da ide u Ninivu i objavi njegove reči. Ovaj put Jona se odazvao zapovedi, otišao u Ninivu i preneo narodu da mora da se pokaje u roku od četrdeset dana ili će Niniva biti uništena. Vladar i stanovnici Ninive poverovali su ovoj objavi, pokajali se i vratili na pravi put a Bog se smilovao i nije uništio grad i njegove žitelje. Dr Schweiger smatra da su se kroz istoriju hrišćanske vere priče iz Starog zaveta koje glorifikuju neku ličnost prenosile na priče o Hristu pa se tako i njegovo vaskrsenje poredi sa pričom o Joni. Kao primer navodi da je Jona tri dana i tri noći bio u ribljoj utrobi kao što će posle i sin čovečji tri dana i tri noći biti u grobu. U daljoj analizi dr Schweiger razmatra ulogu proroka i ishode njihovih proročanstava i zaključuje da su proroci kroz lični moralni uzor služili uspostavljanju mira, blagostanja i spasenja zajednice. Takav moralan čovek bio je i prorok Jona koji je verovao u svoje ideale i bio spreman da svoj život žrtvuje za spas čovečanstva.Senior rabbi Dr. Herman Schweiger through the analysis of the Old Testament story of the prophet Jonah speaks of ignorance and misunderstanding of Jewish science and the intolerance of other nations towards the people of Israel. As an example of this claim, he cites the interpretations of the church father Hieronymus, which took on in the non-Jewish world. Dr. Schweiger briefly reminds us of the content of the story of Jonah according to which God commands him to go to Nineveh and announces to the people that they will be punished for great sins and corruption. Jonah did not answer the call and escaped on a boat. When the ship set sail, a fierce storm arose, and Jonah confessed to the sailors that the storm had been raised by God because he disobeyed his command. The sailors throw him into the sea, the whale swallows Jonah who spends three days and three nights in his womb. He prayed devoutly so the lord ordered the whale to throw him to the land. God sends him again a summons to go to Nineveh and announce his words. This time Jonah responded to the command, went to Nineveh, and told the people that he must repent within forty days or Nineveh would be destroyed. The ruler and the inhabitants of Nineveh believed this revelation, repented, and returned to the right path, and God had mercy and did not destroy the city and its inhabitants. Dr. Schweiger believes that throughout the history of the Christian faith, Old Testament stories that glorify a person have been transferred to stories about Christ, so his resurrection is compared to the story of Jonah. As an example, he states that Jonah was in the fish's womb for three days and three nights, just as the Christ will be in the grave for three days and three nights. In further analysis, Dr. Schweiger discusses the role of prophets and the outcomes of their prophecies and concludes that prophets, through a personal moral model, served to establish peace, prosperity, and the salvation of the community. Such a moral man was also the prophet Jonah who believed in his ideals and was ready to sacrifice his life for the salvation of mankind

No full textWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

Growth model for arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi
No full textIn order to quantify the contribution of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi to plant phosphorus nutrition, the development and extent of the external fungal mycelium and its nutrient uptake capacity are of particular importance. We develop and analyse a model of the growth of AM fungi associated with plant roots, suitable for describing mechanistically the effects of the fungi on solute uptake by plants. The model describes the development and distribution of the fungal mycelium in soil in terms of the creation and death of hyphae, tip–tip and tip–hypha anastomosis, and the nature of the root–fungus interface. It is calibrated and corroborated using published experimental data for hyphal length densities at different distances away from root surfaces. A good agreement between measured and simulated values was found for three fungal species with different morphologies: Scutellospora calospora (Nicol. & Gerd.) Walker & Sanders; Glomus sp.; and Acaulospora laevis Gerdemann & Trappe associated with Trifolium subterraneum L. The model and findings are expected to contribute to the quantification of the role of AM fungi in plant mineral nutrition and the interpretation of different foraging strategies among fungal specie
ANALYSIS OF OPERATIONS OF THE SELECTED FAMLY COMPANY
No full textV diplomskem delu z naslovom Analiza poslovanja izbranega družinskega podjetja so predstavljane splošne značilnosti poslovanja družinskih podjetij, njihovih prednosti in slabosti. Analizirano je poslovanje podjetja Polycom, d. o. o., skozi zadnjih deset let in njihovo osredotočenost na računovodsko bilančno poslovanje, njegove kazalnike ter spretnosti poslovanja skozi številne spremembe, gospodarsko-kriznega obdobja in prilagajanja na računovodske standarde in ureditev, ki velja za Republiko Slovenijo. Namen diplomskega dela je analizirati poslovanje družinskega podjetja Polycom, d. o. o., ki se ukvarja s proizvodnjo plastičnih izdelkov in izdelkov iz drugih mas.
Za analiziranje računovodskih izkazov smo uporabili vodoravno analizo ter analizo s kazalniki. Pri analizi s kazalniki ocenjujemo uspešnost poslovanja podjetja. Uspešnost poslovanja podjetja primerjamo med leti 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 in 2018. Podatke za analizo podjetja uporabljamo na podlagi veljavnih bilanc stanja in izkazov uspeha podjetja.
Ugotovili smo, da je družinsko podjetje ves čas uspelo poslovati pozitivno in uspešno, kljub manjšim odstopanjem za leti 2007 in 2008 ter v letih 2011 in 2012. Podatki za analizo izhajajo iz bilance stanja in izkaza poslovnega izida od leta 2010 do leta 2018. Na podlagi izračuna kazalnikov poslovne uspešnosti, kazalnikov gospodarske likvidnosti, kazalnikov likvidnosti, vodoravne bilance ter kazalnikov obračanja sredstev lahko potrdimo, da je podjetje uspešno poslovalo skozi vsa obdobja od kriznega obdobja 2007 do 2018, kar se pripisuje preudarnim družinskim odločitvam.The diploma thesis entitled Analysis of the business of a selected family business presents the general characteristics of the business of family businesses, their advantages and disadvantages. The business of Polycom d.o.o. was analyzed. over the last 10 years and their focus on balance sheet accounting, its indicators and business skills through numerous changes, the economic crisis period and adjustments to accounting standards and regulations applicable to the Republic of Slovenia. The purpose of the thesis is to analyze the operations of the family company Polycom d.o.o., which is engaged in the production of plastic products and products from other masses.
Horizontal analysis and analysis with indicators were used to analyze the financial statements. In the analysis with indicators, we evaluate the performance of the company. We compare the company\u27s business performance between 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. We use the data for the company\u27s analysis on the basis of valid balance sheets and income statements.
We found that the family business managed to operate positively and successfully throughout, despite minor deviations for 2007 and 2008, and in 2011 and 2012. The data for analysis are derived from the balance sheet and income statement for the years 2010 to 2018. At Based on the calculation of business performance indicators, economic liquidity indicators, liquidity indicators, horizontal balance sheet and asset turnover indicators, we can confirm that the company operated successfully through all periods from the crisis period 2007 to 2018, which is attributed to prudent family decisions
