Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. Muatan Dan Pelaksanaan Pendidikan Prestasi Diri (Analisis Isi Pada Buku PKn Karangan Saptono yang Digunakan di SMP Negeri 1 Songgom Tahun Pelajaaran 2011/2012 )
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan muatan materi prestasi diri dalam buku ajar PKn karangan Saptono dan pelaksanaan pendidikan prestasi diri dalam proses pembelajaran PKn pada siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 1 Songgom Tahun Pelajaran 2011/2012.
Penelitian ini menggunakan sumber data buku PKn Kelas IX karangan Saptono, kepala sekolah, guru PKn, guru BK, dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan datanya menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan mengkaji dokumen atau arsip. Untuk validitas data menggunakan trianggulasi sumber data dan triangulasi teknik metode pengumpulan data. Metode penelitian ini, yaitu menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif. Analisis interaktif digunakan untuk membandingkan data yang diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan mengkaji dokumen.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) muatan materi pendidikan prestasi diri dalam buku PKn karangan Saptono yang digunakan di SMP Negeri 1 Songgom berisi tentang potensi/bakat, minat, intelegensi dan motivasi ; 2) Pelaksanaan pendidikan prestasi diri di SMP Negeri 1 Songgom, Kecamatan Songgom, Kabupaten Brebes dilaksanakan dalam pembelajaran PKn oleh guru PKn, selain itu pelaksanaan pendidikan prestasi diri juga dilakukan di luar kelas dalam lingkungan sekolah melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. The purpose of this research is to get valid & Reliable datas and facts about how far the relationship between self efficacy and Self Directed learning of 2008 Office Administration college student Department of Economy State University of Jakarta. This research was held for about 2 months (June-July 2012). The research method that used in this research is ex post facto with correlational approach.
The population in this research is all of 2008 Office Administration College Student State University of Jakarta, its about 119 students. Based on Isaac & Michael Table’s, 89 from 119 will be the respondenses as a sample’s using propotional random sampling technique. To get data about X variable (Self Efficacy) by using replica from Gilad Chen, Stanley M Gully & Dov Eden that shows internal consistency reliability = 0,86. And for Y variable (Self Directed Learning) by using valid and reliable questionnare forms after pass the validity and reliability test. And it shows 0,940 of reliability. Analysis of requirement test was doing by finding regression equation. It’s shows Y = 25,49 + 0,914X . Result of Lilliefors Normality test is L =0,088 and L table for n=89 at significance rate 0,05 is 0,094. L count F proves that the regression is meanfull. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah, 1) Untuk mendeskripsikan muatan pendidikan karakter dalam buku Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan Kelas VII karangan Saptono yang digunakan di SMP Negeri 3 Kartasura, Kecamatan Kartasura, Kabupaten Sukoharjo Tahun 2011. 2) Untuk menggambarkan pelaksanaan penanaman pendi-dikan karakter dalam proses pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan Kelas VII di SMP Negeri 3 Kartasura, Kecamatan Kartasura, Kabupaten Sukoharjo Tahun 2011.
Penelitian ini menggunakan sumber data keadaan benda bergerak dan tidak bergerak yaitu buku PKn Kelas VII karangan Saptono, berupa orang yaitu kepala sekolah, guru PKn, guru agama, guru bimbingan konseling dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggu-nakan metode mengkaji dokumen/ simak, observasi dan wawancara. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua macam triang-gulasi yaitu, pertama trianggulasi sumber data yang berupa informasi dari kepala sekolah, guru PKn, guru agama, guru bimbingan konseling, siswa dan dokumen berupa buku PKn. Kedua, trianggulasi teknik atau metode pengumpulan data yang berasal dari hasil mengkaji dokumen/simak, observasi dan wawancara. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif dengan analisis isi. Analisis interaktif dengan analisis isi digunakan untuk memban-dingkan data yang diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi dan mengkaji dokumen.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Muatan pendidikan karakter yang terkandung dalam buku ajar PKn Kelas VII karangan Saptono yang digunakan, sudah sesuai dengan Kurikulum dan Standar Kompetensi dan Kompetensi Dasar (SKKD) PKn, nilai-nilai karakter yang termuat dalam buku ajar PKn Kelas VII karangan Saptono meliputi religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, demokratis, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi dan tanggungjawab ; 2) Pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di SMP Negeri 3 Kartasura, Kecamatan Kartasura, Kabupaten Sukoharjo dilakukan bersamaan dengan proses pembelajaran PKn oleh guru PKn, selan itu pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter juga dilakukan diluar kelas dalam lingkungan sekolah
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
