Development Of Walking Index For Broilers From 17 To 24 Days Old
No full textThis research had the objective of developing a model which describes the way that a flock of broilers from 17 to 24 days old walked in the region around the feeder, for better understanding their feeding behavior. The model takes into consideration the area occupied by the birds, their age and environmental variables such as ambient temperature, relative humidity and light intensity. The turbulent dissipation rate from PIV measurements
No full textThe result of a particle-image velocimetry (PIV) measurement is a velocity field averaged over interrogation windows. This severely affects the measurement of small-scale turbulence quantities when the interrogation window size is much larger than the smallest length scale in turbulence. A direct measurement of the dissipation rate demands the measurement of gradients of the velocity field, which are now underestimated because the small-scale motion is not resolved. A popular procedure is to relate the statistical properties of the measured, but underresolved gradients to those of the true ones, invoking a large-eddy argument [3]. We show that the used proportionality constant, the Smagorinsky constant, should depend on the window overlap, on the used elements of the strain tensor, and on the way in which derivatives are approximate
How the dispersion of a droplet cloud depends on its initial size
No full textA cloud of droplets evolves under the influence of strong turbulence. The droplets are made from a phosphorescent fluid. From this cloud we select at t = 0 a narrow line by exciting the droplets with a UV laser, which causes them to glow for a few milliseconds. The dispersion of this line is followed in time using a fast intensified camera. A large range of droplet sizes (Stokes number St) was measured. It appears that lines with St \approx 1 disperse faster than a line of fluid tracers. Lines of droplets which are narrowest initially, spread fastest

Li and the first author in Li and Li (2003) [21]. We also prove a comparison principle for solutions of second order fully nonlinear CR invariant equations defined on bounded domains of the Heisenberg group and a comparison principle for solutions of a family of second order fully nonlinear equations on a punctured ball

No full textU teorijskom dijelu rada se govori o oblicima hotelskih lanaca, njihovom načinu povezivanja, prednostima i nedostatcima hotelskih grupacija te se opisuju i grafički prikazuju vodeći hotelski lanci u Republici Hrvatskoj i svijetu. U praktičnom dijelu rada se analizira hotelska grupacija Valamar Riviera d.d. Ukratko se navode opće informacije o grupaciji te opisuje povijest kompanije. Pobliže se prikazuje i opisuje portfelj kompanije kao i njezine vrijednosti, govori se o društveno odgovornom poslovanju te o prodaji i kvaliteti grupacije. Navode se i obrađuju brendovi koji spadaju pod grupaciju. Pomoću primjera Dubrovnik President Hotela i Istra Premium Camping Resorta detaljno je analizirano i prikazano poslovanje hotelske grupacije Valamar Rivierra d.d. Također je prikazana i SWOT analiza hotelske grupacije Valamar Riviera d.d.In the theoretical part of this final paper the focus is on introducing different types of hotel chains, the way those businesses are formed and merged, and the main characteristics including advantages and flaws of such formations within the hotel industry. Additionally, the list of the main hotel chains in Croatia is provided, supplemented by photos. In the practical part, the author delves into the main focus of the thesis - hotel chain Valamar Riviera d.d. The company is described at length, and the history of the hotel chain is provided. The company's portfolio and its value is examined, and Valamar's sales figure and quality promise are listed. The company's social responsibility and promise is presented. Valamar also has multiple brands under its umbrella, all of which are analysed. In the final chapters, two brands are described at length - President Hotel and Istria Premium Camping Resort. Finally, a SWOT analysis of the hotel group is carried out

realistic and complex challenges that model real-world problems faced in
industrial settings. Focusing on the domain of recommender systems, we see
potentials in embedding recommender systems challenges to enhance student
learning to teach students the skills required by modern data scientists

No full textUlaskom Republike Hrvatske u Europsku Uniju održivo poslovanje postaje sve značajnije, ali i krucijalno za daljnji razvoj gospodarstva i poslovanja poduzeća. Osim regulativnog značaja, posebnu pažnju održivom poslovanju pružaju razni stakeholderi i investitori, odnosno shareholderi. Razlog navedenom očita se u činjenici kako se poslovanje reflektira ne samo kroz različite indikatore performansi koherentnima financijskim pokazateljima, već i u problematici poslovanja svedenih i na nefinancijske pokazatelje nužnima za nastavak nevolatilnog poslovanja (ljudski kapital, proizvodni procesi i tehnologije, organizacijska kultura, briga za okoliš itd.). Koncept održivog poslovanja, iako s bogatom poviješću, konkretnije započinje 1987. godine kada je u izvješću Our Common Future (Brundtland, 1987.) univerzaliziran te doživljava konstantne preinake i modifikacije, posebno u posljednjem desetljeću kada važnost koncepta raste zbog alarmantnih podataka praktički vezanih uz opstanak ljudske vrste, ali i preusmjerava na konkurentsku prednost poduzeća. Stoga, autor ovog rada će stvoriti jedinstveni okvir koji omogućuje analizu održivosti poslovanja poduzeća i analizirati proces adaptacije održivosti poduzeća NEXE d.d. kao predstavnika industrije građevinskog materijala u Republici Hrvatskoj. Rad se primarno bazira na kvalitativnim podacima dobivenim kroz prikupljenu međunarodnu literaturu visokog kredibiliteta, akademskim člancima i drugim komplementarnim izvorima te službenim dokumentima poduzeća NEXE d.d.With the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, sustainability in business becomes increasingly important, but also crucial for the further development of the economy and business operations. Apropos of regulatory importance, special attention is paid to sustainable business by various stakeholders and investors, i.e. shareholders. The reason for the above can be seen in the fact that business is reflected not only through the lens of various performance indicators coherent with financial indicators, but also in the issue of business reduced to non-financial indicators necessary for the continuation of non-volatile business (human capital, production processes & technologies, organizational culture, care for the environment, etc.). The concept of sustainable business, although with a rich history, more concretely begins in 1987. when it was universalized in the report Our Common Future (Brundtland, 1987.) and it experienced constant changes and modifications, especially in the last decade when the importance of the concept grew due to alarming data practically related to the survival of human species, but it also got redirected as a competitive advantage of the company. Therefore, the author of this study will create a unique framework that enables the analysis of a company's operations sustainability and the analysis of the process of adaptation to the sustainability of the company NEXE d.d. as a representative of the construction material industry in the Republic of Croatia. The study is primarily based on qualitative data obtained through collected international literature of high credibility, academic articles and other complementary sources and official documents of the company NEXE d.d.
