    Background: In recent years, the Indian Hindi film industry has produced a number of films like Mary Kom (Kumar, Citation2014) on boxing, Dangal (Tiwari, Citation2016) on wrestling, Panga (Tiwari, Citation2020) on kabaddi, Rashmi Rocket (Khurana, Citation2021) on track and field, and Shabaash Mithu (Mukherji, Citation2022) on cricket. These show the empowering journey of athletes in India. Saina (Gupte, Citation2021), directed by Amole Gupte, is one such Indian Hindi-language biographical sports film that chronicles the career trajectories of Indian badminton player Saina Nehwal (Parineeti Chopra). In doing so, the film pays homage to the individuals who have significantly contributed to her perseverance and indomitable spirit

    Development and Characterization of a Nanoparticulate Delivery System for Treatment of Cutaneous Melanoma

    Malignant melanoma is the most aggressive type of skin cancer. Despite the recent progress in the survival rates, the worldwide incidence has been rising annually at a more rapid rate as compared to any other type of cancer. Dacarbazine (DTIC) monotherapy is approved for first-line treatment for malignant cutaneous melanoma. Resveratrol (RES) is a natural polyphenol that has shown to induce growth inhibition and cell apoptosis in melanoma cells. However, there are several challenges associated with delivery of these drugs which include lack of selectivity for tumor tissue, poor bioavailability, high photosensitivity, and dose-limiting systemic toxicity specifically associated with DTIC that limits its therapeutic efficacy. Nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC) serve as a potential platform for coadministration and protection of encapsulated drugs from degradation, enhance their pharmacokinetic profile and therapeutic efficacy, improve cellular uptake and biodistribution to tumor cells, minimize systemic toxicity and enhance accumulation at target site. The premise of this study is to design and characterize a lipid based injectable nanoparticulate delivery system for targeted delivery of both agents for the treatment of cutaneous malignant melanoma.An HPLC method was developed that enabled the simultaneous quantification of DTIC and RES which was validated for its specificity, linearity, precision, and accuracy as per USP guidelines. Nanostructured lipid carriers loaded with DTIC and RES were successfully developed and characterized while keeping the drugs protected from degradation. Melt-emulsification and solvent evaporation method along with ultrasonication was used for the formulation of NLC. The NLC were less than 200 nm in size and lyophilized NLC showed a significant increase in particle size up to 350 nm on freeze drying. Entrapment of RES was seen to be higher than DTIC in the lipid matrix. Both drugs were present in a non-crystalline state in the lipid matrix and all formulations remained stable over a period of 60 days. The formulation was found to be safe for intravenous administration. Future studies for this drug delivery system needs to address its efficacy and uptake in various cell lines.     There are many type of facial skin includes normal, dry, oily, combination and sensitive. In this research, it will be concentrated on three types of facial skin only which are oily, dry and combination skin. Users might have oily skin, dry skin or combination skin. This system will help users to identify which category the user’s skin belongs to. So, it is easier for the users to choose the right facial skin product that is suit with the user skin due to various products that can be found in the market nowadays. K-Means clustering technique are used for this project to cluster a partition of skin to identify either the regions of skin are oily or dry and determine either the user skin belongs to oily group, dry group or combination group which is combination of oily and dry skin. The result of this technique obtained 94% of precision rate and 4% of error rate which make the accuracy rate is 94%. This result is compared with observation’s result made earlier which is done experimentally to support the accuracy of the result

    LABOR, LIQUIDITY, LEARNING, CONFORMITY AND SMALLHOLDER TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION: THE CASE OF SRI IN MADAGASCAR

    Although rice accounts for approximately forty-four percent of land under cultivation and forty-six percent of caloric intake in Madagascar, most farmers cannot produce enough rice to feed their families. Total rice production increased little in the country during the 1990s, and yields were stagnant and well below world average yields. Because of the importance of rice for both family income and nutrition and because of the significant role upland rice cultivation plays in deforestation in Madagascar, intensification of lowland rice production has been a major focus of many development interventions. The System of Rice Intensification (SRI) is a method that has been promoted and closely followed in Madagascar for more than ten years. SRI is remarkable for its dramatic increases in yields achieved without external inputs. While the method is more labor intensive, the doubling or even tripling of yields would appear to make the method extremely profitable. Despite its apparent potential and intensive extension efforts in some areas, adoption rates have generally been low, and the average rate of disadoption (the percentage of households who have tried the method and who no longer practice it) for study area was 40 percent. Using survey data from five communities in Madagascar, a sample selection model and a probit model were used to study three related choices farmers must make concerning the SRI. The first is whether to try the method, and then, conditional on having tried the method a farmer must decide how much of his lowland rice area to put in the SRI. Finally, for all subsequent years, a farmer must decide whether to continue using the method. While many adoption studies have looked at the role of liquidity and labor, few have done so in a dynamic setting. We take advantage of reliable recall data and NGO records on technology use to construct a panel data set, which was used to analyze the effects of learning, labor, liquidity, and social benefits over a five-year period. Learning has been the focus of several recent adoption studies, but this study tries to separate the learning effects from the effects of compliance with authority figures and with social and cultural norms. The results show that planting-season labor and liquidity constraints are extremely important factors in the adoption decisions of Malagasy farmers. Although the method is low-external input, the poorest farmers are not able to take advantage of the technology. This result is very important for development policy-makers in Madagascar who have often seen rice intensification as the most important means by which to alleviate rural poverty in Madagascar.Farm Management,

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
