Konstruksi Otoritarianisme Hukum Islam Menurut Khaled M. Abou El-Fadl
Quran was sent down for the humanity, its consequently guiding to drive justice, dignity and a mercy of the universe. This paper tried to discribe of the triangle of text, reader and author in islamic legal opinion. The cource strictly to differ where are authoritative and authoritarian in the same time. Here is Khaled Khaled as a prominent moslem thinker standing consistantly in front line againts wahabism on its fatawa or islamic legal opinions. Khaled offers methodology of how to interpret of the meaning of the law texts, it is hermeneutic. The characteristics of this kind of methodology is that there is closed relation to the author, text, context, and interpreting of reader. So, the meaning of Islamic law texts can be classified into two categories, authoritarianism and authoritative meaning
Understanding Education of Authoritative Islamic Law Perspective Khaled Abou el Fadl
Problems with Gender-biased Islamic law education and authoritarianism in the United States have invited the anxiety of prominent Muslim intellectual, Khaled Abou El Fadl. In his book on the Speaking in God's Name, Khaled revealed a crucial hermeneutic problem related to the relation of text (text), author (reader). Khaled also revealed the problem of abuse of "authority" in Islamic law that surfaced and was unavoidable among individuals and groups. Evidently, there are a number of religious fatwas not speaking "about God", but acting and speaking "in the name of God". The focus of this paper further discusses what are the hermeneutical problems in Islamic law education discussed by Khaled Abou El Fadl, and what is meant by the issue of authority and abuse, the relation of text-author-reader, and authoritarianism and its implications in the study of Islamic law. Then what are the mechanisms and methods for formulating the right Islamic fatwa
Probabilistic data analysis with probabilistic programming
Thesis: M. Eng., Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2016.This electronic version was submitted by the student author. The certified thesis is available in the Institute Archives and Special Collections.Cataloged from student-submitted PDF version of thesis.Includes bibliographical references (pages 48-50).Probabilistic techniques are central to data analysis, but dierent approaches can be challenging to apply, combine, and compare. This thesis introduces composable generative population models (CGPMs), a computational abstraction that extends directed graphical models and can be used to describe and compose a broad class of probabilistic data analysis techniques. Examples include hierarchical Bayesian models, multivariate kernel methods, discriminative machine learning, clustering algorithms, dimensionality reduction, and arbitrary probabilistic programs. We also demonstrate the integration of CGPMs into BayesDB, a probabilistic programming platform that can express data analysis tasks using a modeling language and a structured query language. The practical value is illustrated in two ways. First, CGPMs are used in an analysis that identifies satellite data records which probably violate Kepler's Third Law, by composing causal probabilistic programs with non-parametric Bayes in under 50 lines of probabilistic code. Second, for several representative data analysis tasks, we report on lines of code and accuracy measurements of various CGPMs, plus comparisons with standard baseline solutions from Python and MATLAB libraries.by Feras Ahmad Khaled Saad.M. Pemikiran Hermeneutika Khaled M. Abou El Fadl: Dari Fikih Otoriter Ke Fikih Otoritatif
This article is an analysis of the book written by Khaled M. Abou el-Fadl entitled Speaking in God's Name: Islamic law, Authority and Women, which tries to explain the thoughts of Khaled M. Abou El Fadl who carries the theory of authority by using a hermeneutic approach as an analytical knife in addressing The problems of Islamic law that have developed so far are still considered discriminatory, in Khaled M. Abou El Fadl's terms referred to as interpretation authoritarianism. The hermeneutics that Khaled M. Abou El Fadl developed is oriented towards the authority of the interpretation of a text by negotiating the text, the author and the reader by paying attention to three things, namely; competence (authenticity), determination of meaning, and representation. According to Khaled M. Abou El Fadl, these three main issues play an important role in shaping the authority holders in Islamic discourse
Comparative analysis of classification models for prostate cancer
Among different types of cancers which occur in men, prostate cancer is the most commonly occurring one. However, prostate cancer epidemiology is not completely identified. Neither the causation nor pathogenesis of prostate cancer can be totally understood by today’s information. As a result, prostate cancer screening tests cannot always detect the disease. Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test is the most widely used test to screen men for prostate cancer. However, PSA blood test adversaries accuse this test as rendering misguided results that lead to over-diagnosis and overtreatment. According to The National Cancer Institute, men who go through a prostate biopsy procedure because of an elevated PSA test result, only about 25 percent of them actually have prostate cancer. The other 75% of men might face the side effects of prostate biopsy which includes serious infections, pain, and bleeding. This study utilized the Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS), and the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program data to identify some key risk factors for those patients who are more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer. In addition, an Artificial Neural Network has been implemented a long with the most used classification methods that include Logistic Regression, k-Nearest Neighbors, Naïve Bayes classifier, Decision Tree classifier, and Support Vector Machine, in order to recognize prostate cancer in an early stage. All these classification methods’ results were analyzed using confusion matrix and Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analyses. This study found that age, ethnicity, family history of cancer, fat intake, vitamin D deficiency, inflammation of prostate, vasectomy, and hypertension are positively associated with prostate cancer. Although, obesity, alcohol abuse, and smoking were significantly associated with the prostate cancer, this association found to be negative. The result of classification methods’ tests showed that the Artificial Neural Network had success rates of 87.53% on NIS data and 99.31% on SEER data compared to Logistic Regression (81.71%, 84.95%), k-Nearest Neighbors (73.46%, 91.62%), Naïve Bayes classifier (70.86%, 86.56%), Decision Tree classifier (78.02%, 90.34%), and Support Vector Machine (72.33%, 88.52%). In conclusion, this study tried to minimize the PSA false result by identifying more key risk factors and providing a prediction tool based on Artificial Neural Network to predict and to support the clinical decision in prostate cancer screening.Ph.D.Includes bibliographical referencesby Khaled Saad Alqahtan
