Evandro Affonso Ferreira: vidas desengraçadas e o arquivo debilitado
This dissertation investigates writing procedures by Evandro Affonso Ferreira, a contemporary Brazilian author with five books published so far. These procedures are studied according to the movement of the characters. The work is divided in two parts: the first one is a game for a galery (possible and failed) of stupids and its "infamous lives" regarding the precarious experience and existence of these characters. The game happens in an involvement with the visual arts (Marcelo Coutinho, Elida Tessler and León Ferrari) and with some other fictional texts from authors like Gusmán, Kafka, Melville, Walser etc. The second one is how the author works with his texts, books and the lexicon he uses - the sonorous words -, as all this would form a single (an unique) book, free in a Babel library of the language, of the imagination, of the memory, of the literature. The book as an object that compounds the trajectory of an author-reader, his Babelic collection. For this I use the theories of Agamben, Benjamin, Blanchot, Derrida, Deleuze, Foucault and others
Brasilodopsis Almeida & Higuti & Ferreira & Martens 2021, gen. nov.
Brasilodopsis gen. nov.
urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act: 4AAADA13-1225-4927-A258-42AE8DF369BC
Type species
Brasilodopsis baiabonita gen. et sp. nov. (here described and designated).
Other species
Brasilodopsis amazonica gen. et sp. nov. (here described).
Etymology
The name of the new genus is a contraction of ‘ Brasilo ’, after Brazil, the country from which it is here described, and ‘ dopsis ’, referring to the stem of Cypridopsis.
Diagnosis
Cp sub-triangular in lateral view, with LV mildly overlapping RV along all sides. LV anteriorly, ventrally and posteriorly with a well-developed, largely inwardly displaced inner list, anteriorly with a submarginal selvage. RV anteriorly with submarginal inner list, posteriorly with one inner list and a marginal selvage. A2 with natatory setae well-developed, reaching well beyond the end claws. T 1 in female with two short setae a; seta d present in female, absent in male; setae b absent in both sexes. T2 with one short seta d2, seta d1 absent. T3 distally with incompletely developed pincer organ, fourth segment fused with third segment. CR in female with cylindrical base.
Differential diagnosis
Brasilodopsis gen. nov. belongs to the cypridopsine genera where the LV overlaps the RV; only six other genera belong to that group (see Table 1). The new genus differs from Austrocypridopsis McKenzie, 1982, Cavernocypris Hartmann, 1964 and Pseudocypridopsis Karanovic, 1999 by the long natatory setae on the A2 (short to very short in the other three genera). It further differs from Austrocypridopsis in the shape of the base of the CR, (triangular in Austrocypridopsis, cylindrical in Brasilodopsis gen. nov.) and in the shape of the valves in lateral view (rectangular in Austrocypridopsis). Cavernocypris also has a triangular base of the CR and furthermore lacks all inner lists and selvages on both valves, while the T1 has a seta b (missing in Brasilodopsis gen. nov.). Pseudocypridopsis also lacks inner lists and selvages; while the CR is missing in both males and females. Brasilodopsis gen. nov. further differs from Cypridopsis s. str. Brady, 1867 by the general shape of the Cp (much broader in dorsal view in Cypridopsis), while the posteroventral inner list in the LV does not run (sub-)parallel to the valve margin in this latter genus (it does so in Brasilodopsis gen. nov.), while the anterior inner list in this valve runs less than halfway the anterior valve margin (all the way to the dorsal margin in Brasilodopsis gen. nov.). The base of the CR in Cypridopsis is triangular, while it is elongated in Brasilodopsis gen. nov. Neocypridopsis Klie, 1940 has a very different shape of the Cp (rather high and swollen in dorsal view), but more importantly has the fourth segment of the T3 separate from the third segment, much like in Candonidae. Tungucypridopsis Victor, 1983, finally, is ill-described which makes a comparison with the present new genus difficult. It appears to lack the inner lists on both valves, which are moreover much larger than in Brasilodopsis gen. nov. (0.6 mm versus 0.4 mm – see Table 2).

Cyprettadopsis Savatenalinton, 2020 (placed in a separate tribe by this author) has a similar valve shape, including inner lists, but has (incomplete) marginal septae and a series of large ventral pores along the outer lists, which are both absent in Brasilodopsis gen. nov., while the T3 also has a separate fourth segment (fused into an incomplete pincer in Brasilodopsis gen. nov.).
Published as part of Almeida, Nadiny Martins de, Higuti, Janet, Ferreira, Vitor Góis & Martens, Koen, 2021, A new tribe, two new genera and three new species of Cypridopsinae (Crustacea, Ostracoda, Cyprididae) from Brazil, pp. 1-48 in European Journal of Taxonomy 762 on pages 5-6, DOI: 10.5852/ejt.2021.762.1451, http://zenodo.org/record/5176858
Os Dois Irmãos, by Germano Almeida: a novel of victims
In the novel Os dois Irmãos (1995), Cape Verdean author Germano Almeida stages, in a very original way, the ancient story of Cain and Abel. In the field of socio-cultural changes, the familiar figures are drawn, with a tragic trait, torn between the appeal of community belonging and the desire to live freely.publishe
Funk carioca, voz feminina e o caso Tati Quebra-Barraco
Abstract : This study researches the relationship among race, racial democracy in Brazil and the rise of Rio de Janeiro s funk (carioca funk). In addition, the paper analyses the representation of black women and the female self-representation present in Tati Quebra-Barraco s music by evaluating the appropriation of hegemonic discourses that have been reinterpreted in the postcolonial context. The carioca funk emerges as a gender in 1989 and establishes a dialogue with the decadence of the samba schools and with the myth of the racial democracy in Brazil. In this sense, it refers to the issues related to the black youth subordination in general and to the black woman subordination specifically. The research is carried out from the race perspective as well as from the subordinate representation and self-representation perspective, which are understood as a parody of hegemonic discourses. It also presents some issues related to the appropriation of foreign music, specifically soul music and hip-hop, and to the counter-discourse in Tati Quebra-Barraco s female self- representation
This study intends to discuss how black women from Vale do Guapore Forest, Rondônia, in Brazilian Amazon, and women from Mayombe, in Cabinda Province, Angola, relate to the environment, establishing specific ways of life and forms of power through their ancestral knowledge. The ways of lives as well as everything else which follows it are understood to be constituted historically in their cultures. The period of study extends from 1980 to 2010. The analysis was centred on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean considering comparative history perspectives, establishing connections amongst rainforest environment contexts, aiming to perceive similarities, differences, permanencies and changes in these people´s sociocultural practices, considering that black population who inhabit Vale do Guapore are from Angola or from other sites in Central Africa. This paper aims to discuss gender relations present in women´s and men´s cultural practices who inhabit rainforests for the use of natural resources. Field research took place in quilombola communities in vale do Guapore and in Mayombe villages, occasion in which there was participation in their daily practices and several interviews were made with women and men, because this study privileges oral sources, constructing a text based on dialogues containing reports and interpretations from the interviewed people, the interpretation from the author and from researches who study this subject. The main common feature between Guapore population and that of Mayombe is extractive activities associated with subsistence farming. In Guapore women are considered as men´s "help" and in Mayombe they are the main responsible for the development of farming activity and for providing the family

The purpose of this study is to develop the concept of autofictionalization of the subject in Ferreira Gullar’s poetry. Since this concept was not found in any text studied in the literature review, we hold our beliefs in Gilles Delleuze’s and Felix Guattari’s principles about the corporeal and incorporeal, and their pure transformation. Starting from the idea that the phrase autofictionalization is deverbative, i.e. a noun that comes from a verb - fictionalize – it is possible to understand that, as a verbal phenomenon from the act of writing, the subject created through autofictionalization will merely have a surface effect, i.e. an effect made possible by language, more specifically, by the verbal action present in the act of writing. Thus, an author would only need writing in first person, so that, consciously or not, this effect would be produced. Our understanding of autofictionalization – the surface effects – differs from the idea of autofiction, since, unlike the latter, it does not imply a cause and effect relationship and takes place regardless the author’s will.O objetivo do trabalho é desenvolver o conceito de autoficcionalização do sujeito na poesia de Ferreira Gullar.
Bible and translation: João Ferreira D’Almeida and the construction of lusophony
Mas um dos elementos mais importantes da lusofonia no Oriente foi a própria Bíblia de Almeida e muitos outros livros em português, sobretudo gramáticas e livros religiosos: catecismos, livros de oração, etcThe author gives evidence to national and foreign proofs to reveal the importance of the Portuguese language in Asia which was a free language between people and cultures in the xvi-xviii’s centuries. After that, he speaks about «vehicles of lusophony»: politicians, missionaries, merchants and also the cultural exchange that facilitated the mixing of human races. Chapter 3 presents the missionary action of João Ferreira d’Almeida. His Bible was the first translation of the holy book into the Portuguese language. The author also mentions the Calvinist cult in Batavia, the Dutch capital in East, as a contribution for the spreading of the Portuguese Culture (lusophony). The Bible of João Ferreira d’Almeida was fundamental for the assimilation of the Portuguese culture as many other books written in Portuguese, especially grammars and religious books such as catechisms and prayer books.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
A obra é analisada sob o prisma do pós-modernismo, procuramos isolar e identificar
autor combate. With this work we intend to demonstrate the postmodern strand of the fictional
romance Eva, by Germano Almeida, Cape Verdean writer, as well as the positions of the
narrator on the Luso-tropicalist theory, justifying a more smoothly Portuguese colonialism
than those of other European colonizers, topic which is widely parodied throughout the
narration.
Through a protagonist Biblical name, the author will explore the topic of the myth of
Don Juan in the female version, covering various dimensions of social and political
geography of ante and post April 25, 1974, enhancing the relationship between the
Portuguese metropolis and the islands of Cape Verde.
The novel is analyzed through the prism of postmodernism, seeking to isolate and
identify the elements that characterize it as such, as well as highlighting the most relevant
aspects that deliberately contradict the theses of Luso-tropicalism that, without naming, the
author opposes
