Investigation into the growth and structure of thin-film solid solutions of iron-based superconductors in the FeSe0.92-FeSe0.5Te0.5 system
Thin films of FeSe0.92 and FeSe0.5Te0.5 iron chalcogenide superconductors and solid solutions containing these components in different ratios have been grown on the surface of LaAlO 3 (10 bar 12) crystals by pulsed laser deposition. Films of solid solutions have been deposited by simultaneous laser ablation from two targets of the FeSe0.92 and FeSe0.5Te0.5 stoichiometric compositions onto one substrate. An X-ray diffraction study of the film structure shows that the films grown are epitaxial and their lattice parameters regularly vary with the ratio of the deposited components, which was controllably varied by changing the ablation intensities from the targets. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd
SOWING IN TEARS AND REAPING IN JOY: PSALM 125. 5–6 IN THE INTERPRETATION OF SAINT AUGUSTINE
Saint Augustine of Hippo often quoted the last verses of the 125th psalm and several times meditated its content in his tractates and sermons. The author of this article examines a selection of these citations, in which the verses are not only quoted but also, both directly and indirectly, commented upon. In his exposition of the Epistle to the Galatians, Augustine merely mentions the fact of the possibility of a spiritual understanding of the passage. The most thorough and most complete exposition of this passage is found in Augustine’s 31st Homily. This exposition is actually more thematic than exegetical. The main points of this homily include the idea of an explanation of the various reasons for tears shed by people during their earthly lives (the tears of martyrs, the tears deriving from earthly pains and sorrows, the tears of a just man separated from his God). But the most profound interpretation of these psalm verses is found in Augustines’s exposition of Psalm 125 (11–13). Here Augustine enumerates all the good actions which he considers to be symbolized by the idea of sowing (almsgiving, aid rendered through deed, aid rendered through word, the mere desire to render aid). At the same time, Augustine does not develop in this exposition the idea of forgiving offences as a type of almsgiving. On the other hand he reveals the essence of good works as charity and the Goal of those who practise good works as the union of the faithful soul with Christ. The author includes a Russian translation of the 31st homily at the end of his article
Potential of Rural Cultural Leisure in Belarus
The solution to the problem of preserving the identity of the cultural traditions of the Belarus village is to actualize the socio-cultural potential of rural regions, to reveal the uniqueness of the resources of each territory and their cultural specialization, to find forms of involvement of the population in the processes of socio-cultural development of territories
AN APPROACH TO THE HISTORICAL MEANINGIN PSALM 125 (126) IN THE WRITINGS OF AUGUSTINE AND HIS PREDECESSORS
This article deals with an aspect of Augustine’s exegesis of Psalm 125. It raises the ques-tion of whether it can be assumed that Psalm 125 refers precisely to the historical event of thereturn of the Jews from the Exile. The paper traces a correlation between Augustine’s exegesisof this Psalm and an earlier Latin tradition of Psalm exegesis, mainly, that of St. Hilary ofPoitiers. Augustine, as well as St. Hilary, draws an analogy between the return of the Jews fromthe Exile and the conversion to God through Christ. The latter is being pictured as the liber-ation from the captivity to sin granted to us through the Redemption. Therefore, Augustine’sexegesis, unlike that of St. Hilary, does not deny (not does it emphasize) a correlation betweenthe literal meaning of this Psalm and the Exile. The paper points to Tyconius’Sixth Rule(De Recapitulatione) as another possible source of such exegesi
ST AUGUSTINE’S INTERPRETATION OF PS 115. 2 AND HIS SERMO 257
In Sermo 257, as well as in the rest of his sermons considering Ps 115. 2 («All men are liars»), St Augustine reads the verse as referring to the fallen state of man, which can be cured by the divine grace only. In Sermo 257 he cites as examples of «human» (i. e. fallen) lie and divinely inspired sooth-saying two sentences of the same character, apostle Peter (Mt 16. 16–23)
Depairing critical currents and self-magnetic field effects in submicron YBa₂Cu₃O₇₋δ microbridges and bicrystal junctions
We report on depairing critical currents in submicron YBa₂Cu₃O₇₋δ microbridges. A small-angle
bicrystal grain boundary junction is used as a tool to study the entrance of vortices induced by
a transport current and their influence on the I–V curves. The interplay between the depairing and
the vortex motion determines a crossover in the temperature dependence of the critical current.
The high entrance field of vortices in very narrow superconducting channels creates the possibility
of carrying a critical current close to the depairing limit determined by the S–S–S nature of the
small-angle grain boundary junction.Discussions with R.I. Shekhter and L.Yu. Gorelik

LIFETIME OF AND A LIMIT FOR ITS 2p DECAY ENERGY
The unknown isotope (26)S, expected to decay by two-proton (2p) emission, was studied theoretically and searched experimentally. The structure of this nucleus was examined within the relativistic mean field (RMF) approach. A method for taking into account the many-body structure in the three-body decay calculations was developed. The results of the RMF calculations were used as an input for the three-cluster decay model optimized for the study of a possible 2p decay branch of this nucleus. The experimental search for (26)S was performed by fragmentation of a 50.3 A MeV (32)S beam. No events of a particles table (26)S or (25)P (a presumably proton-unstable subsystem of (26)S) were observed. Based on the obtained production systematics, an upper half-life limit of T(1/2) 640 keV for (26)S. Analogous limits for (25)P are found as T(1/2) 110 keV. In the case that the one-proton emission is the main branch of the (26)S decay, a limit Q(2p) > 230 keV would follow for this nucleus. According to these limits, it is likely that (26)S resides in the picosecond life time rang
