    Analisis Wacana Kekerasan Seksual Terhadap Perempuan dalam Film "Demi Nama Baik Kampus" dan Film "Please Be Quiet"

    This study discusses the discourse of sexual violence in the short film Demi Nama Baik Kampus and the short film Please Be Queit to find out the representation of women as victims of sexual violence in the film. This study uses qualitative methods and Sara Mills' critical discourse. Based on its form, critical discourse analysis is divided into 3, namely the position of the subject-object and the position of the reader by selecting scenes that are considered representative. The findings of the analysis show that the position of the subject is carried out by a female character named Sinta who is a victim of sexual violence by her supervisor in the campus environment in the short film For the Good Name of the Campus. Whereas in the short film Please Be Queit played by Sarah who is considered a victim of sexual violence in the work environment. The position of the object is described as an actor that supports the subject's motion. Meanwhile, the writer positions Sarah and Sinta as parties who confirm the incident, so that the text is from the point of view that Sinta and Sarah experienced. The reader's position cannot change the discourse written by the author, because the reader cannot provide arguments to the writer, if there is no discrepancy in the content of the film's discussion

    Suara memiliki peran yang sangat besar pada karya audiovisual termasuk film. Sound effect menjadi salah satu unsur suara dalam film yang dapat di eksplorasi dengan berbagai metode dan cara untuk dapat menyampaikan informasi non verbal pada penonton, sehingga informasi tersebut diharapkan dapat membentuk persepsi auditif penonton yang kemudian dapat menciptakan pemaknaan terhadap sebuah adegan maupun film secara menyeluruh. Metode yang digunakan untuk menciptakan film Diah dengan genre horor berawal dari proses pra produksi, produksi dan pasca produksi. Hyperreality Sound Design digunakan untuk mencapai konsep auditif untuk mendukung unsur Dramatik berupa konflik, suspense dan curiousity terhadap tokoh. Penataan suara dalam film “DIAH” akan menerapkan hyperreality sound design dengan menggunakan beberapa metode yaitu volume sound effect, layering, dan sound edit. Keberhasilan konsep dapat dilihat melalui respon penonton ketika menonton film yang ditunjukkan dengan rasa waspada, penasaran, dan tidak menyadari bahwa suara telah dimanipulas

    Skizofrenia merupakan penyakit mental yang ditandai oleh ketidakacuhan, halusinasi, waham untuk menghukum, dan mereasa berkuasa, tetapi daya fikir tidak berkurang. Penderita kerap mengalami halusinasi, ilusi, dan waham yang mengganggu kehidupan sehari-hari baik secara pendengaran dan penglihatan. Pengalaman ini direpresentasikan melaluik film eksperimental yang berjudul b;d. Tujuan dari penciptaan film eksperimental b;d adalah sebagai wujud kepedulian terhadap penyakit mental yang menjadi stigma bagi masyarakat luas. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya informasi yang tersedia tentang penjelasan skizofrenia.     This research focuses on the representation of feminism in the film Copyist Cahaya. This film is an interesting study to study because the content in the film contains survivors of sexual violence described by Suryani as a real manifestation of women's struggle for justice and gender equality that she is able to provide evidence of the abuse she experienced. The formulation of the problem in this research is how to represent feminism in the film Pengalin Cahya. This study aims to describe the value of feminism in the Syriac character in the film Pengalin Cahaya. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods, with a Semiotics analysis approach. The data collection technique used purposive sampling, namely three pieces of the film scene of Copying Cahaya as the primary data. This data analysis technique uses Roland Barthes' semiotics technique which divides semiotics into two stages, namely denotation and connotation.     Penelitian ini mengangkat tentang isu maskulinitas makna maskulinitas bagi kehidupan masyarakat merupakan sifat yang berhubungan dengan fisik, kekuatan, keberanian dan kegagahan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui maskulinitas karakter laki-laki dalam film High and Low the Worst X Cross, dengan menggunakan kajian semiotika Roland Barthes yaitu makna denotasi dan konotasi. Selain itu, Roland Barthes juga mengungkapkan dan mitos dalam konsep semiotikanya. Metode penelitan yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan model semiotika Roland Barthes. Objek yang dipilih yaitu film High and Low the Worst X Cross (2022) yang disutradarai oleh Norihisa Hiranuma. Data penelitian didapatkan dari hasil foto-foto screenshoot dari setiap adegan yang menunjukan semiotika dalam karakter laki-laki maskulinitas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, terdapat 30 dari 80 scene yang diidentifikasi penanda dan petanda yang terkandung dalam film High and Low the Worst X Cross yaitu dengan denotasi, konotasi dan juga mitos milik Roland Barthes yang diidentifikasi tanda dan makna melalui teori maskulinitas

    Bagurau Saluang Dendang performances discussed in this study are the Bagurau Saluang Dendang in the Communita Pagurau and the Lapau Community. This study aims to discuss the shift in the pattern of the Bagurau Saluang Dendang performances carried out by the Communita Pagurau and the Lapau Community. The approach taken in this study uses the theory of creativity related to the commodification of performances. This study uses an ethnographic method, where this method is carried out by participant observation. In addition, ethnography is also a method of writing. The findings in this study are that the Bagurau Saluang Dendang in the Communita Pagurau and the Lapau Community experienced a shift which was divided into several things, namely material, musicians, performance venue, management, audience, rules, time and interaction.Keywords: Bagurau; Saluang Dendang; Communita Pagurau, Lapau Community; Performance Pattern ShiftAbstrakPertunjukan Bagurau Saluang Dendang yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah Bagurau Saluang Dendang dalam communita pagurau dan Komunitas Lapau. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnografi, dimana metode ini dilakukan dengan observasi partisipan. Selain itu etnografi juga sekaligus sebagai metode penulisan. Hasil temuan dalam penelitian ini bahwa Bagurau Saluang Dendang dalam Communita Pagurau dan Komunitas Lapau mengalami pergeseran yang terbagi atas beberapa item, yaitu materi, musisi, tempat pertunjukan, pengelolaan, penonton, aturan, waktu dan interaksi.Kata Kunci: Bagurau; Saluang Dendang; Communita Pagurau; Komunitas Lapau; Pergeseran Pola Pertunjuka

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    THE IMPACT OF THE ABOLITION OF CORPORAL PUNISHMENT ON ETHICS AND DISCIPLINE AMONG STUDENTS AT THE NURUL IKHLAS MODERN ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL

    Objective: This study investigates the impact of eliminating corporal punishment on students’ ethical behavior and disciplinary patterns at Nurul Ikhlas Modern Islamic Boarding School (PPMNI). Method: Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through direct observation, interviews with school leaders and caregivers, and analysis of institutional documents. Results: The findings indicate that while the former use of corporal punishment contributed to a heightened sense of discipline, its abolition has led to a decline in students’ ethical behavior, despite an observable improvement in their external compliance with school rules. This suggests a shift from internalized values to superficial conformity. The study highlights that non-physical disciplinary strategies have not fully succeeded in fostering the same depth of moral development. Novelty: This research contributes to the discourse on school discipline by revealing the nuanced consequences of banning corporal punishment in religious educational settings and by emphasizing the need for structured ethical and spiritual reinforcement to sustain moral integrity in the absence of physical discipline
