Multiferroicity and hydrogen-bond ordering in (C2H5NH3)2CuCl4 featuring dominant ferromagnetic interactions
We demonstrate that ethylammonium copper chloride, (C2H5NH3)2CuCl4, a member of the hybrid perovskite family is an electrically polar and magnetic compound with dielectric anomaly around the Curie point (247 K). We have found large spontaneous electric polarization below this point accompanied with a color change in the sample. The system is also ferroelectric, with large remnant polarization (37??C/cm2) that is comparable to classical ferroelectric compounds. The results are ascribed to hydrogen-bond ordering of the organic chains. The coexistence of ferroelectricity and dominant ferromagnetic interactions allows to relate the sample to a rare group of magnetic multiferroic compounds. In such hybrid perovskites the underlying hydrogen bonding of easily tunable organic building blocks in combination with the 3d transition-metal layers offers an emerging pathway to engineer multifuctional multiferroics
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Modelling of threats of economy digitalization
Rudyk S. Modelling of threats of economy digitalization / S. Rudyk ; supervisor I. Nikolina // Black Sea Science 2020 : рroc. of the Intern. Competition of Student Scientific Works. Information Technology, Automation and Robotics / Odessa Nat. Acad. of Food Technologies ; eds. B. Yegorov, M. Mardar, S. Kotlyk [et al.]. – Odessa : ONAFT, 2020. – P. 346–355 : fig. – Ref.: 23 tit.An analytical review of scientific research of foreign scientists on realization of the digital transformation trend is conducted, as well as on the methodological apparatus for assessing the digital economy development, a series of regulatory acts concerning digital changes in Ukraine and the experience of modelling individual risks of economy digitalization. An analysis of scientific literature on the specifics of the interpretation of the definition "digitalization" is carried out. It is generalized that the interpretation of "digitalization" is conditioned by the subject providing the definition, and this leads to ambiguity in the understanding of the concept under study. It is clarified that digitalization of economy provides effective bilateral interaction of the state, society, business and person by means of digital technologies if all the participants of communication have the appropriate digital competencies. It is substantiated that the implementation of digitalization into economy creates a number of threats, the main of which is an increase in the level of cybercrime. The main types of cybercrime are defined. The dynamics of the main threat to the digital economy development – cybercrime – are modelled to optimize the management of economic systems. The statistics show that the growth rate of cybercrime will accelerate. The main types of cybercrime that will carry the highest risk are foreseen. It is found that the main violations are crimes in the field of payment systems. Preventive activities are suggested
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Influence of Ag, Cu dopants on the second and third harmonic response of ZnO films
Silver- and copper-doped ZnO films were prepared by radio-frequency (RF)-magnetron sputtering on glass and quartz substrates. The influence of dopants content on the microstructural evolution and optical as well as nonlinear optical (NLO) properties were investigated. It has been found that the grain sizes were enlarged with increasing of Ag, Cu dopants amount in ZnO films. The Ag or Cu doping leads to the optical band gap narrowing. Besides, the second-order NLO response of Ag- and Cu-doped ZnO films is lower than that of undoped ZnO film. The second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of the ZnO:Ag film was found to be higher than that of the ZnO:Cu film at the similar concentration of dopant. In addition, the decrease of the third harmonic generation (THG) response is observed in ZnO films with increasing of Ag or Cu dopant amount
