Organizational learning and knowledge creation processes in SMEs

    No full text
Nowadays, the business life for many companies is becoming increasingly complex and novel because of dynamic processes and rapid changes those are occurring in economy. In order to cope with fast changing environment organizations are forced to increase their knowledge base and thus learn continuously. Herein, organizational learning and knowledge creation processes are becoming of crucial importance if the organizations are to succeed. But, are these processes found in all enterprises? Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are playing an important role within Western economies. For instance, in the EU SMEs account for more than 50% of total employment. Hence, we investigated the organizational learning and knowledge creation processes in SMEs, as the textbooks mainly refer to larger enterprises.I concluded that both processes were not found to a full extent as described in theory. The processes not only vary from one another, but they also vary from one enterprise to another. The empirical data clearly indicates that these findings are due to the lack of resources, knowledge and size. The organizational learning process focuses more on explicit knowledge, as it is rooted in Western epistemology and therefore can be found to a comparably higher extent in the investigated enterprises than the knowledge creation process, which focuses more on the interaction between tacit and explicit knowledge, as it is rooted in the Eastern epistemology.creation processes, organizational learning, SMEs

Using a sample of 100 manufacturing SMEs, we have researched the impact of digital marketing activities which are carried out through social media, on increasing the sales or turnover of these SMEs. The achieved results were analyzed through probit regression. The results show that facebook is mostly used for business activities in these SMEs. Also, the analyzed SMEs give a lot of importance to the opinions and comments of consumers expressed on social media. They design their business policies based on the comments and opinions received from online consumers. The aim of this research is to identify social media activities that affect the increase of brand awareness in the fashion industry in Kosovo. The research considers five different social media activities (advertising, influencers, sharing, entertainment, and interaction), and to the best knowledge of the authors, this is the first experiment to consider these factors all together, as well as the first one addressing brand awareness in Kosovo. Quantitative methods were used on a sample of 224 respondents, including confirmatory factor analysis and regression analysis. The analysis was conducted by using the AMOS statistical software. The findings indicate that activities, such as interaction and advertising, have a significant impact on brand awareness, unlike entertainment, sharing, and influencers’ behaviour. The findings provide marketers with recommendations regarding social media activities and the challenges that must be considered before they are implemented

This paper investigates the state, barriers, challenges and perspective of implementing the export marketing in Kosovo through a number of case studies by using the methodology of target sample survey, which to some extent can make generalizations. Like many developing countries, Kosovo faces a huge trade deficit. While researchers in generally tend to focus on macroeconomic policies to find the causes of deficit in foreign trade and the government undertakes reforms to improve the balance by boosting export, the largest part of the game often has to be played by the companies themselves under whatever macroeconomic actual policies at home and abroad. This is what the findings from this paper suggest when exploring the level and forms of export marketing in the surveyed companies. Although the companies engage in different export marketing activities, none of them reported any prepared marketing strategy in this respect. Instead, they still consider export marketing, which they use as synonymous with international marketing, to be part of their overall marketing strategy and export within department for export. What appears that they need more, isa merger or specialization of these two (export and marketing) into one separate department or the export marketing

The need for users’ safety and technology acceptability has incredibly increased with the deployment of co-bots physically interacting with humans in industrial settings, and for people assistance. A well-studied approach to meet these requirements is to ensure human-like robot motions and interactions. In this manuscript, we present a research approach that moves from the understanding of human movements and derives usefull guidelines for the planning of arm movements and the learning of skills for physical interaction of robots with the surrounding environment.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Learning & Autonomous Contro

In a global world, doing business in heavy industry is becoming a concern to the environment. The need for production, export, and consumption under these circumstances has come as a challenge for marketers, consumers and surrounding residential population. The Western Balkan countries include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo. Kosovo has witnessed a considerable economic transformation during recent years, but is has fallen short of considering and implementing a strategy for the preservation of the environment. Kosovo is relatively rich with underground and surface resources, having large quantities of minerals and coal. But despite this, Kosovo continues to be the most underdeveloped country in the region. Exploiting these resources can have a great impact on economic growth and with it, consumer needs are more satisfied. Social marketing has a major impact on the activities of businesses in these areas and ensures that these businesses operate in accordance with certain rules and laws. This would also help in matters of general health of the population. Through Pearson\u27s correlation and case studies, recommendations and conclusions will be given on the studied topic. The results show that there are positive and negative relationships between the variables which are significant

    No full text
This short communication discusses the inflow of foreign tourists during the current pandemic and its interplay with the wide-scale administration of COVID-19 vaccines in Serbia. It focuses on the country’s provision of free-of-charge vaccines to inbound tourists (primarily from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, and Croatia). As a result, the tourism sector experienced a boost in tourist arrivals and overnight stays across the country, which contradicts the trend in the tourism industry and is, potentially, an effective resilience strategy. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen how long the given effect will last and what the major benefits for stakeholders will be
