Legal Effects, Types and Revocation of the Deed of Gift under the Legislation of the Republic of Kosovo
The gift contract is a separate positive law contract in Kosovo, which is concluded between two entities, the donor and the recipient. Given the fact that gift contract falls in the group of unilateral binding contracts, it only creates obligations on the part of the donor. The principal duty of the donor is to transfer the subject of the gift into the ownership of the donor. The legal effects of the gift contract are reflected in the rights and obligations of the contracting parties. As the gift contract falls in the group of charitable contracts, there would be no guarantee of physical or legal deficiencies for the donor. In Kosovo positive law, the following types of gift contracts apply; reciprocal gift contract, mixed gift contract, rewarding gift, posthumous gift contract, gift order contract. In this paper we will examine the legal effects, rights and obligations of contracting parties to the gift, the specific types of gift contract applied in practice in Kosovo, the revocation and causes of the gift contract revocation, and ways of annulment of the gift contract, specifically the voluntary and non-voluntary ways of the contracting parties
Political Elites’ Corruption, Political Stability and Economic Growth in Nigeria: Bound Testing Approach
This paper investigated the impact of political elites’ corruption and political stability on economic growth in Nigeria using ARDL bound test approach. The study adopts annual time series data for the period of 1996-2017. The stationarity properties of the variables were tested using Augmented Dickey Fuller (ADF) and Phillips-Perron (PP) tests. Result from the bound test reveals that corruption exact a negative and significant impact on economic growth both in the short and long run, while political stability exact a positive and significant impact on economic growth in the short run but an insignificant impact in the long run. This finding revealed that political stability which includes stability in government, absence of internal, external and ethnic conflict/tension promote economic growth in Nigeria in the short run while corruption was found to contribute to the Nigerian economy by reducing cumbersome bureaucratic control. In the light of the findings, the paper recommend that political elites’ should be cautioned for desperation of power and common/public interest of the society should supersede individual interest
A partial general equilibrium analysis of fiscal policy injection on poverty and inequality in South Africa
This study employs a partial general equilibrium approach calibrated on the Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) and a contemporaneous dynamic computable general equilibrium (CGE) model to assess the effect of expansionary fiscal policy on economic growth, income inequality, poverty, employment and inequality reduction in South Africa. The simulation results reveal that expansionary fiscal policy i) benefits rich ‘white’ households the most and poor ‘coloured’ households the least ii) improves adult employment more than youth employment iii) improves employment in urban areas as proposed to employment in rural areas iv) has a very small effect on improving economic growth and reducing the Gini coefficient v) benefits ‘well-off’ households more than it does ‘poor’ households vi) promotes ‘low-skilled’ employment more than it does for ‘high-skilled’ labourers. Associated policy implications based on our findings are also discussed
Playwriting: an analysis of the Morphological Characteristics of Whatsapp and Facebook Messages
The concept of writing in all its ramifications has remained pivotally significant in the process of documentations, from the antediluvian to the contemporary times. This is asserted on power, prowess and flexibility of the playwright in carefully adapting his environment and mirroring it satisfactorily. This paper examines the art of playwriting as a medium of adaptation of the society holistically and narrowing it to the influence of the social media (Facebook and whatsapp) on English language in making modern plays. In the process of interacting with people from different educational and societal backgrounds, social media platforms have influenced their use of English language and as such, the playwright captures them. This paper through the content and data analysis examines the influence of Facebook and WhatsApp on English language in playwriting processes in particular and the society at large. This paper hinges on Ludwig Wittgenstein’s “Use Theory” and Aristotle’s mimetic wisdom theory as its theoretical fibre. This study through three Facebook groups and three Whatsapp groups provides understanding of budding playwrights’ experiences of using Facebook and WhatsApp and their view on how it affects their writing of plays in flexible English language. The paper recommends that budding and experienced playwrights should flexibly adapt the nuances of social media to stay germane, focus and creative in the contemporary theatre industry and advance the craft of playwriting in mirroring the society
Job Characteristics and Deviant Behaviour among Employees of Selected Public and Private Universities in Ondo and Ekiti State, Nigeria
There is dearth of empirical study on the effect of job characteristics on deviant behaviour in Nigeria, especially in the education sector. Primary data were collected from the academic and administrative staff of the Ekiti State University (EKSU), AfeBabalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) and Elizade University, Ilara-mokin (EU) with the aid of questionnaires. Both the descriptive and inferential statistics were employed for the purpose of analyses. The results of the simple regressions shows that Job characteristic factors such as position, level of influence, relevance and feedback, role performed, position occupied, autonomy enjoyed etc. help to ameliorate rather than worsen deviant behaviour in the selected public and private universities

Structured questionnaire was the instrument used in sourcing primary data. The data was analyzed using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The results showed that the listed manufacturing firms in Nigeria are exploring the possibility of using or adopting fully web-based reporting. The exploration variables has the highest Eigen values of 4.4297784 and 2.0077 among the extracted components. The study however, recommended that law should be enacted to compel companies to adopt web based reporting and that companies should be encouraged to employ Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) in reporting

Modelling Inclusiveness of Growth in Nigeria. What are the Roles of Remittances and Institutional Quality?
The Nigerian economy has witnessed tremendous growth in the last three and half decades, yet 62.7% of the 188 million population remains poor. The non-inclusiveness of growth recorded has heightened the search for the underlying cause of this age-old macroeconomic problems. The institutional mechanism in place to attract worker’s remittances in order to attain a broad-based growth have been the placed at the forefront of the national quest for growth to be inclusive. In analysing the role of institutions in the remittance-inclusive growth puzzle, this paper employ the Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag Approach to account for the short-run and long-run structural properties of the model. Findings reveals that remittances has a long-term negative relationship with inclusiveness of growth while institutional quality positively enhances inclusiveness of growth in Nigeria in the long-run. However, institutions have negative short-term relationship with inclusive Growth while remittances have short-term positive relationship with inclusive Growth in Nigeria. It is therefore recommended that the society should do more to embrace strong institutions that will promote inclusiveness and their instrumental value as a means toward better growth performance and equal income distribution
Financial Stability and Firms’ Performance: A Study of Selected Oil and Gas Firms in Nigeria
The relationship between financial stability and performance measurement has been an issue of discussion in recent past. Considering the over-dependence of Nigerian economy on Oil and Gas, the study therefore investigates financial stability of Oil and Gas firms’ in relation to their performance. Secondary data which were sourced from Annual reports of seven (7) Oil and Gas firms for twelve years (2007 – 2018) were used for the study. The model estimation showed that Return on Assets (ROA) serves as proxy for performance indicator while Fixed Asset Ratio, Proprietary Ratio, Debt Ratio and Equity Ratio serve as proxy for financial stability indicators. The study made used of descriptive statistics and panel data regression estimation technique to analyze the data. The results of the study showed that financial stability ratios have no effects on firms’ performance, while financial risk ratios have effects on firm’s performance in Oil and Gas firms. The study concluded that financial stability ratios (fixed assets ratio and proprietary ratio) do not influence firms’ performance, while, financial risk ratios (debt and equity ratio) do influence firms’ performance. Thus, the recommendation to Oil & Gas sectors managers is to develop a sustainable yardstick to curtain the use of debt source of finance in order to implement capital projects that yield no immediate returns.
