Portable water sprinkler / Muhammad Amiruddin Anuar & Aminuddin Roslan
The Portable Water Sprinkler System is used to automatically watering plant. This project is based on microcontroller and sensor operation. The microcontroller used is ATMEGA 328P that attach to Arduino board and the sensor used is a soil moisture sensor. The sensor detects the moisture content of the soil and sent the signal required to Arduino board. If the moisture content of the soil value is lower than the trigger value, the pump will be triggered for sprinkling process. Otherwise, the pump will not be triggered. Then the water tank used to store the water and connect it to water pump. Water- level indicator also provided to detect the level of water in the tank. When water in the tank is full, green LED will light up. When water at half full, yellow LED will light up. Red LED will light up when water level in the tank about to empty or low. This Portable Water Sprinkler System will helps for those who got small garden in their housing area. Their plants will not be dry if no rain when they going out to somewhere else in few days. Users can have different size of the water tank according to their convenient. The bigger the water tank, the longer the systems can be operated and users will not worried about their lovely plant

Experimental behaviour of beam-column connection using cold-formed steel sections with rectangular gusset-plate
Beam-to-column connections setting up as isolated joint of cold-formed steel sections were tested up to failure. This experiment was conducted to observe the behaviour of connection in term of strength, stiffness and ductility. The type of connection used was rectangular gusset plate which stiffen the beam-to-column connection. The behaviour of the proposed connection was expressed with Moment-Rotation curves plotted from the experiment test results. The capacity of connections on this research were done in two ways: theoretical calculation by adopting Eurocode 3 BS EN 1993-1-8:2005 and experimental test results. The theoretical calculation of the moment capacit y of the proposed connection has found (Mj) to be 10.78 kNm with joint stiffness (Sj) amount to 458.53 kNm/rad. The experimental test results has recorded that the Moment capacity (Mj) of 15.68 kNm with joint stiffness (Sj) of 1948.06 kNm/rad. The moment ratio of theoretical to experimental amount to 0.69. The joint stiffness ratio of theoretical to experimental amount to 0.24
Pilot study to develeop a problem based learning environment for open distance learning
This action research examines the online Problem based learning (PBL) designed for one of the courses in the Bachelor of
Project and Facility Management offered at Open University Malaysia. The main aim of this study was to explore the
constraints of implementing PBL and to look for possible interventions during class tutorial sessions. Within the
constraints of students’ attendance and the limitation of time, this project was conducted and monitored using the action
research methodology. The participants were students who attended the Facilities, Planning and Design course and they
were divided into two groups consisting of five members in each group. Observations and reflections from the students and
facilitator were recorded for ten weeks. At the end of the research, the facilitator developed the guidelines to introduce and
conduct the PBL environment for this particular course (Abstract by author
LEADING IN DIVERSITY: A TALE OF TWO SCHOOLS
This paper is a personal reflection of a Malaysian secondary school principal in
two schools in Sabah, Malaysia. The author, Malaysian Chinese, held positions as
school teacher and teacher trainer prior to school principal highlighted academic
achievement in both schools using Malaysian public examinations – SPM and
PMR as measures during her headship from 2007 through 2012. The first school, a
predominantly Kadazan-Dusun community, was a large rural government day school
with an enrolment of about 1500. The second school, with enrolment of about 1300,
belongs to the “conforming school” or government aided school. This type of school
serves primarily the Chinese community but over time, it is found to be quite diverse.
The gain in SPM examination is 0.57 over four years in the first school and 0.68 in two
years in the second school. The gain in PMR examination is 0.57 and 0.12 respectively
Kontribusi Imam al-Nawawi Dalam Pengembangan Madhhab Shafi'i
In the history of Shafi'i’s madhhab, the figure of Imam al-Nawa wi has a very significant role. The results of his ijtihad is always used as a Shafi`iyah scholar reference, even when the scholars differed in opinions, then his idea regarded as "the end" of that difference dispute. This paper, intended to explore why the figure of al-Nawa wi have such a privileged position in the madhhab Sha fi'i. Through the historical approach, the author have found the answer to that. First, al-Nawa wi is seen as a unifier Shafi'i’s madhhab. In his hands, two school of Shafi’i madhhab, Khurasan and Iraq can be reconciled. Second, Al-Nawa wi have managed to put the principles tarjih, to select the strongest opinion from a variety of opinion among al-Sha fi'i’s madhhab. Therefore, al-Nawawi is known as the al-mujtahid al-murajjih or mujtahid al-tarjih, the mujtahid who are not just memorize the ijtihad of Imam al-Shafi’i, but know the sources of Imam al-Shafi’i’s opinion, able to describe and explain his opinion, make an analogy (qiyas) related to his opinion in problem solving, even select a strong opinion among opinions that exist

LASTING LEADERSHIP: A STUDY OF HIGH LEADERSHIP CAPACITY SCHOOLS
Schools were nominated for inclusion in the study by the author and her colleagues who had worked with initiatives that emphasized the characteristics of high leadership capacity schools. The 15 schools that were chosen for participation in the study included 7.1 elementary schools, one junior high school, and three high schools (one of which was a charter school). Eight of the schools previously were low-performing schools located in urban areas, four were racially and ethnically diverse schools located in suburban areas, one was a non-diverse suburban school, and two schools were located in poor, rural communities. The primary investigators included the schools' principals, who worked with staff members, directors of initiatives, external coaches, and the author. A set of open-ended questions invited participants to describe the leadership capacity of their schools, including obstacles and sustainability. In addition, two extensive conversations were held between primary investigators and individuals familiar with leadership capacity, yet not directly involved in the study. During the first conversation, the investigators presented their schools by describing the context in which they operated, their accomplishments, and their struggles. In the second conversation, investigators responded to a rough draft of the study, noting patterns, making inferences, and suggesting conclusions
