Stages for the More Sustainable Farm
Full text linkCurrently, agricultural farm units are faced with a double and most times contradictory challenge, in order to be successful: on the one hand the invested capital has to be profitable and the economic performance has to be maximised. On the other hand, given the socio-environmental situation, it is necessary to preserve and to protect the environment and natural resources. Given the potential conflict of the two aims, since the satisfaction of one implies the underperformance of the other (and vice versa), the question then is: which is the solution to choose? We intend, in this work, to formulate a farm plan with the purpose of reconciling the criteria of environmental sustainability with that of economic competitiveness. For this achievement we proceed to the comparative study of sustainability of different groups of farms identified in the study area (first evaluation cycle) through MESMIS (“Marco para la Evaluación de Sistemas de Manejo de Recursos Naturales Mediante Indicadores de Sustentabilidad” - Framework for Evaluation of Natural-Resource Systems Handling through Sustainability Indicators) methodology, that allowed to select the more sustainable group of farms. Based on the found potentialities and weakness on these production systems, we stepped to the planning of a production unit of bovine meat, which obeys simultaneously to economic and environmental objectives, using Multicriteria Decision. We finished the work with the sustainability evaluation between groups of farms identified previously and the planned farms (second evaluation cycle), based, again, in the MESMIS methodology, to confirm (or not) the greatest sustainability of the last ones. These three texts are published in Resistenze femminili (Udine: Forum, 2019). In 2018 she created Il canto della caduta. Earthbound (2021) is her last devised show, which brings in the themes of ecofeminism, taking cues from the theories of Donna Haraway and Bruno Latour. In 2021 she became associate artist at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. In 2023, she is guest of honor at the 11th Biennale internationale des arts de la marionette in Paris. She was awarded the prizes Rete Critica (2017), Premio della Critica – ANCT (2018) and Premio Hystrio - Altre Muse (2019).Animation de la discussion avec Marta Cuscunà, performeuse, metteuse en scène, marionnettiste et autrice italienne. Working with troubles and failures in conversation between humans and robots: workshop report
No full textThis paper summarizes the structure and findings from the first Workshop on Troubles and Failures in Conversations between Humans and Robots. The workshop was organized to bring together a small, interdisciplinary group of researchers working on miscommunication from two complementary perspectives. One group of technology-oriented researchers was made up of roboticists, Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) researchers and dialogue system experts. The second group involved experts from conversation analysis, cognitive science, and linguistics. Uniting both groups of researchers is the belief that communication failures between humans and machines need to be taken seriously and that a systematic analysis of such failures may open fruitful avenues in research beyond current practices to improve such systems, including both speech-centric and multimodal interfaces. This workshop represents a starting point for this endeavour. The aim of the workshop was threefold: Firstly, to establish an interdisciplinary network of researchers that share a common interest in investigating communicative failures with a particular view towards robotic speech interfaces; secondly, to gain a partial overview of the “failure landscape” as experienced by roboticists and HRI researchers; and thirdly, to determine the potential for creating a robotic benchmark scenario for testing future speech interfaces with respect to the identified failures. The present article summarizes both the “failure landscape” surveyed during the workshop as well as the outcomes of the attempt to define a benchmark scenario
Nervi’s Isostatic Lines’ Inspired Floor Slabs. Beyond the Archetypal Gatti Woolen Mill in Rome
No full textIn 1949 the construction company Nervi & Bartoli patented in Italy a construction system for two-dimensional structures with ribs bent in accordance with isostatic lines of bending moments or normal stresses, invented by an engineer from its staff: Aldo Arcangeli. In the years to come “isostatic lines” ribbed slab would become one of the main and distinctive archetypes used by Pier Luigi Nervi throughout the world. This is a cast-in-place reinforced concrete ribbed slab combining static efficiency with aesthetic and spatial qualities. The paper will present different case-studies, demonstrating (with a trans-disciplinary approach) how and when aesthetic, static and constructive issues overcome a rigorous mathematical morphogenesis. Case studies will show how the different patterns of the ribs are influenced both by structural instances (e.g. geometry, loads and constraints) and by the specificities imposed by each design and building site (e.g. use, craftmanship, economy, and replicability)

Recursos tic para la promoción de salud mental positiva a estudiantes universitarios en tiempos de coronavirus
No full textEl presente proyecto tuvo como objetivo generar recursos audiovisuales basados en TIC para promover bienestar y salud mental positiva en estudiantes universitarios en tiempos de pandemia. Se creó una Estrategia de comunicación del conocimiento que consistió en generar recursos audiovisuales basados en TIC para promover bienestar y salud mental positiva en estudiantes universitarios en tiempos de pandemia, vinculada al proyecto INV 2371 ESTUDIO DE LAS PROPIEDADES PSICOMÉTRICAS DE LAS ESCALAS DE BIENESTAR DE DIENER EN POBLACIÓN COLOMBIANA cuya autora principal es la Dra. Marta Martín. Los tipos de recursos audiovisuales generados fueron infografías, podCaps, videos, y poster, en total fueron 10 recursos, con un resultado en general de 423 vistas, 240 like y 10 opiniones. Por los resultados de la encuesta de opinión se concluyó que las tic juegan un papel fundamental en la promoción de salud mental, puesto que la mayoría de los estudiantes encuestados les pareció bueno el material expuesto.The objective of this project was to generate audiovisual resources based on ICT to promote well-being and positive mental health in university students in times of pandemic. A Knowledge Communication Strategy was created that consisted of generating ICT-based audiovisual resources to promote well-being and positive mental health in university students in times of pandemic, linked to the INV 2371 project STUDY OF THE PSYCHOMETRIC PROPERTIES OF THE WELL-BEING SCALES OF DIENER IN COLOMBIAN POPULATION whose main author is Dr. Marta Martín. The types of audiovisual resources generated were infographics, podCaps, videos, and posters, in total there were 10 resources, with an overall result of 423 views, 240 likes and 10 opinions.
