Thesis: English Letters Department of Adab and Humanities Faculty, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, November 2014. The study in this paper discusses the translation procedure of the poem on the tittle ?Prayer for Rain? which is translated by Taufik Ismail. The important purpose in this research, the author tries to explain the translation procedures used in translating at poem Prayer for Rain by David Campbell. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method, to describe and analyze identifies the process of how an English word of the poem is translated into Bahasa Indonesia. In addition, this study also identifies whether the translation process results the changes of manner. To suport the analyses, the writer use some books, and dictionaries, namely A Text book of Translation (Peter Newmark), Teori & Praktek Penerjemahan (Frans Sayogie), Kamus Lengkap Indonesia-Inggris a(2004). The writer uses the theory of translation procedure. Finally, the writer finds fourteen words of translation procedure from Prayer for Rain poem. The translation procedure are Modulation and Transposition

No full textImplementation of learning media supported by application Articulate Storyline 3 with the concept of AfL has the objective to: (1) Evaluate the learning process of class XI MIPA 4 High School Kebakraamat, (2) Describe the implementation of the learning media to improve the cognitive ability of students on the material Temperature and Calor, (3) Describes the application of learning medium to improve student independence on the materials Temperature & Calor. The research design used is class action research (PTK) with the help of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart models implemented in two cycles of action with data collection techniques including interviews, tests, observations, and document studies. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis supported by quantitative data.The data validity test technique uses instrument validity and triangulation techniques. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Articulate Storyline 3 supported learning media with the AfL concept can improve the quality of learning processes, cognitive abilities and independence of students of Class XI MIPA 4 N High School on material temperature and Calor. (1) The improvement in the evaluation of the learning process has increased from three aspects that have been met in cycle I and in the cycle II all aspects of the conformity of the RPP with the implementation have been achieved. (2) The enhancement in the presentation of the cognitive skills of students has occurred in each cycle, with the presentation in the second cycle of 86.1%. (3) The presentation of student independence has also improved from four indicators attained in the first and second cycles all indicators of independence have been reached.

No full textThis paper tries to discuss how Western philosophy critically examined the thought of Thomas Aquinas in the scholastic era. The scholastic era or known medieval philosophy whose style is the philosophy of collaborating with theology in harmony. Philosophy in the scholastic era gave birth to many famous theologians-philosophers, one of whom was Thomas Aquinas, who was the subject of this paper. After the authors traced through this paper the answer found that Aquinas was the most important figure of Western philosophy in the scholastic era. Aquinas is considered to have made a real contribution in unifying the original elements of Augustine's thought, strongly influenced by the philosophy of Neo-Platonism, with the philosophy of Aristotle. The author criticized Aquinas's view that Aristotle's philosophical system contains true rational truths. Basically using philosophical methods to understand theology is very helpful. That has been done by Aquinas; it only needs to be underlined that the method for understanding philosophy without losing the nature of theology is not entirely correct either. However there are also problems that cannot be fully explained by philosophical approaches. Like the problem of beliefs related to metaphysical problems, for example. The problem of belief in matters that are metaphysical is a problem that is difficult to explain philosophical logic. Aquinas stated that theological truth is clear to human reason. For example, it is the truth about God's existence. This truth comes from revelation, but how to explain philosophically that can satisfy curiosity so that what is believed can be understood rationally

No full textThe theme in this paper is about the ethical principles of HAMKA in the context of moral development in Indonesia. The theme of ethics is commonly discussed in various scientific works, but what makes it interesting is that he is one of the greatest thinkers in Indonesia who is also known as a scholar, writer, expert on Sufism, and as a philosopher. This is what underlies the author to examine and seek answers to the problem formulas, namely how is the concept of HAMKA ethics and how are the principles of HAMKA ethics in the context of moral development of the Indonesian? The method I use is a qualitative research method in the form of library research, namely by using the content analysis method. The content of each material can be in the form of sources from books, journals, or articles that are relevant to the topics that have been investigated, analyzed, and synthesized to form a complete concept in answering research questions. The result of this research is that HAMKA ethics has the characteristics of rational-religious ethics. HAMKA made the basis of its ethics from Greek ethical concepts to Muslim philosophers such as Ibn Miskawaih and al-Ghazali. HAMKA synthesizes ethical thoughts from philosophers with moral values taught by Islam through the Qur\u27an and Hadith
FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE IN POETIC GOENAWAN MOHAMAD’S CATATAN PINGGIR
No full textAbstractCatatan Pinggir is one of essay forms which belong to journalistic writing. The objectives of the study are to describe the linguistic pattern used by Goenawan Mohamad in Catatan Pinggir that creates a certain kind of poetic language and to describe the poetic language in Catatan Pinggir. The sample is derived from various collections of Goenawan Mohamad’s Catatan Pinggir 2 which was published in Tempo magazine. It consists of five essays, namely, Dari 17 Oktober, Gajah Amerika, 1,600 Bangau, Politik sebagai Panglima, and Ming. The result shows that the linguistic patterns appear in each essay of Goenawan Mohamad’s Catatan Pinggir. The study of Catatan Pinggir proves that the most various linguistic pattern using concrete word in each essay, then imaginative, suggestive, semantic deviation and register, respectively. While the most various poetic language used comparison, personification, hyperbola, metaphor, synecdoche and irony, respectively.This proves that author in presenting news fact in Catatan Pinggir is more positioning himself as a literary man than as a journalist.AbstrakCatatan Pinggir merupakan salah satu bentuk esai yang masuk dalam kategori penulisan jurnalistik.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pola linguistik yang digunakan oleh Goenawan Mohamad dalam Catatan Pinggir yang menciptakan satu jenis bahasa puitis yang secara estika menjadikan karya ini menjadi satu kesatuan artistik secara menyeluruh/terpadu.Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dan kualitatif menggunakan pendekatan berbasis bahasa dan jurnalistik sastra. Sample diperoleh dari berbagai kumpulan Catatan Pinggir 2 Goenawan Mohammad yang dipublikasikan dalam majalah Tempo. Sampel tersebut terdiri dari lima yakni dari 17 Oktober, Gajah Amerika, 1,600 Bangau, Politik Sebagai Panglima dan Ming. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pola linguistik tampak terbentuk di setiap esainy tersebut.Penelitian Catatan Pinggir yang menggunakan linguistic-based approach membuktikan bahwa pola linguistik terbanyak digunakan adalah kata kongkrit dalam setiap esai, kemudian imajinasi, sugestif, penyimpangan semantik dan register, secara berurutan. Sementara penggunaan terbanyak bahasa puitik adalah komparasi, personifikasi, hiperbola, metapora, sinekdot and ironi, secara berurutan.Ini terbukti bahwa penulis dalam menunjukkan fakta-fakta berita melalui Catatan Pinggir lebih memposisikan dirinya sebagai seorang penyair dibandingkan sebagai seorang jurnalis
PERAN PEMIKIRAN FATIMA MERNISSI DALAM MEMAHAMI ISLAM DAN KEMODERNAN DI MAROKO
No full textAbstract: This article discusses Islam and modernity in a country in North Africa, Morocco. The research question is how is Islam and modernity in Morocco and their relationship to the fate of women in the perspective of Fatima Mernissi? From the results of this study, it was found that between Islam and modernity in Morocco is something that has not meet expectations. According to Mernissi, there is still marginalization of women in the socio-political and religious aspects of life in Morocco. Because it is related to the interpretation of religion, Mernissi said that there is a need for a hermeneutical and socio-historical approach that adapts to the context, Islam for her is always actual in its development, including in this modern era. What is new from this research is that Islam and modernity in Morocco have not gone hand in hand, although times have changed, they are still not in line. While the goal that the author wants to achieve in this paper is to complete the lack of studies that have ever existed about Mernissi's thinking whose emphasis is that modernity should be directly proportional to the fate of women who are equal to men.Keywords: Islam; Modernity; Morocco; Fatima Mernissi; Hermeneutik and Socio Historical Approach; Marginalization of Women Abstrak: Dalam artikel ini, kami menganalisis hubungan antara Islam dan modernitas di Maroko, sebuah negara di Afrika Utara, melalui lensa pemikiran Fatima Mernissi. Kami bertanya bagaimana Islam dan modernitas di Maroko dan hubungannya dengan nasib perempuan dilihat dari perspektif Mernissi. Melalui studi ini, kami menemukan bahwa hubungan antara Islam dan modernitas di Maroko belum sesuai dengan harapan. Menurut Mernissi, masih terdapat marginalisasi perempuan dalam aspek sosial-politik dan agama dalam kehidupan di Maroko. Karena ini terkait dengan interpretasi agama, Mernissi menyatakan bahwa diperlukan pendekatan hermeneutik dan sosio-historis yang sesuai dengan konteks. Menurutnya, Islam selalu relevan dalam perkembangannya, termasuk dalam era modern ini. Hasil baru dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa Islam dan modernitas di Maroko belum berjalan bersama-sama, meskipun zaman telah berubah, mereka masih tidak selaras. Tujuan dari penulis dalam artikel ini adalah untuk menyelesaikan kekurangan studi yang pernah ada tentang pemikiran Mernissi yang menekankan bahwa modernitas harus sebanding dengan nasib perempuan yang sama dengan laki-laki.Kata Kunci: Islam, Modernitas, Maroko, Fatima Mernissi, Pendekatan Hermeneutik dan Sosio-Historis, Marginalisasi Perempua

Nowdays, tofu entrepreneurs especially the scale of SMEs (Small andMedium Enterprises) in Indonesia still using soy grind tool so that the results of soybean mill is insufficient.The grinder of SMEs Tahu Marina where the grinding machine used has a soy container that does not fit the needs of the next process so it requires 2 times the grinding process. To overcome these problems, the authors developed a container soy grinder machine driven by an electric motor. The purpose of this research is to design the container of soy grinder machine in accordance with the needs of the know-making process in SMEs know marina. The result of this research is the design of soybean machine container with capacity 64,5 kg / hour, with height of tube of 52 cm soybean, which is refuted with skeleton which have height 60 cm, length 120 cm, width 60 cm, using electric motor with 3 HP. The capacity of the grinding machine container designed by this author is in accordance with the capacity of the soybean soybean machine container required by SMEs Tahu Marin

On this occasion, the author will discuss the provisions of shipping, especially related to the juridical review of sailing safety and security based on the provisions of Law No. 17 of 2008 concerning Shipping and the principles of legal responsibility for the safety and security of sailing in Law No. 17 of 2008 concerning Shipping. The research method used in this article is normative juridical which is examined by researching primary legal materials and secondary legal materials. The results of the study show that in the provisions of the Shipping Law ships do not just sail away, several maritime requirements must be met, including the safety and security of ships which are part of the ship's seaworthiness. In addition, officers have difficulty checking the available network when there are new customers who sign up. Based on existing problems, the author analyzed and made the design of a geographical information system in order to make it easier administratively for new customers to register for network installation and create facilities for users when going to file complaints and can also make it easier for officers to find customer locations, in this study also carried out the design of pipeline maps to help officers when checking based pipelines. Website, the methodology used for software development using waterfall methods and for system development using DFD while the language used for system development uses PHP programming language to create maps used opensource libraries i.e. leaflets. With the construction of the system can increase time efficiency and effectiveness and can increase productivity in carrying out work, especially in improving service to customers
